XPERIA Z Default Wallpaper [Multi-Pack] - Xperia Arc Themes and Apps

As the title says, this is default XPERIA Z wallpaper (you probably know that it leaked few days ago).
Beside original file, there is complete set of resized versions, to fit different XPERIA 2010/2011/2012 screen sizes, as well as different desktop displays and aspect ratios.
I tried to maintain the quality at highest level, with saving resized versions in PNG format (have in mind that original file is in jpg, so there would be additional loss of quality if saved again in jpg after resizing).
Resolutions included:
Phones / 480x320 / 640x480 / 960x854 / 1080x960 / 1440x1280 /
Desktop / 1440x900 / 1600x1200 / 1680x1050 / 1920x1080 / 1920x1200 / 2560x1440 / 2560x1600
Enjoy.

can you increase the contrast of this wallpaper a little bit? I find the default one to be quite pale in color.

I just tested it, and it's working fine.
Maybe it was some temporary BOX server error.

This is the farthest I could go with contrast.

As, with any greater contrast, there are ugly bendings (visible color transitions) appearing on highlighted bottom part. Also, you didn't mention what wallpaper size you're interested in exactly, so I just changed contrast on source wallpaper.

Wallpaper stretching?

Hi all,
Fresh new dell streak, flashed streakdroid 1.9.
Now when I try to set any picture as wallpaper, it seems like it is zoomed in, destroying any high-res detail. Did I do something wrong? How should I go about fixing this? It is SUPER annoying.
Questions...
1. What are the dimensions of the wallpaper?
2. When you set the image as wallpaper, there should be an orange box on the screen. Using the multi-touch capabilities of the screen, did you expand the size of the orange box to contain the entire picture?
it happens using any wallpaper, both default and downloaded. The downloaded one im using is 1600ish x 1000ish. Yea, I use the box to get the entire image for my wallpaper, but still no luck. It still seems to show a zoomed image no matter what.
The resolution should be 960 x 800. At the resolution you're using, the picture will look horrible because the phone has to downsize the image to fit the screen. This leads to jaggies and moire effects on the screen.
Get a photo editor and downsize your image to 960 x 800, then load it as wallpaper.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: As an example, I use a cropped version of the following image:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The version displayed here is a low quality version. The original image is 14MB in size with a resolution of 2486 x 1914. While I could have downsized the image as is to something pretty respectible on the Streak, I discovered that on a 5" screen the sun would be rather small. That didn't appeal to me, so in order to see the sun, I cropped the image in Photoshop CS5 so it was smaller with the details I wanted, namely the sun, the blue glow, and the foreground.
From there I used Photoshop's Image Size and Canvas Size functions to get the final image, seen below as an attachment.
Now, you were complaining about a loss of resolution earlier. Unfortunately, the Streak doesn't have the same color resolution as my netbook does, and the two of them cost the same amount of money. Load my wallpaper into your phone and you will see distinct banding within the blue glow. This is because the phone doesn't have 32-bit color depth like a standard computer monitor. There's nothing that can be done with that to the best of my knowledge. But by resizing the image so the Streak doesn't have to downsample the image itself, you can make the image look a lot more presentable.
Ahh, that was it. The default wallpapers are all sized wrong. Thanks!!
If you want to properly thank me, hit the "Thanks" button.
But, you're welcome.
download flikie from android market. Move the wallpaper you want to set to flikie folder on your sd card. open flikie and click on the wallpaper and set it as a background without stretching it

Wallpaper Just Won't Set Right, tried many different apps/cropping

Hey XDA, wallpaper won't set correctly for me across different ROMS with Apex Launcher. I tried Wallpaper Wizard, QuickPic, Wallpaper Setter, Wallpaper Set and Save, Image 2 Wallpaper, etc many more and its frustrating.
Wallpapers are 1600x1280(correct height, height is what's cut)
Here's an example of what happens across all apps I try it with, quickpic here:
Wallpaper is:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Cropping like so:
But wallpaper is cut off on top and bottom
ok so i just noticed that it is ok on portrait but the above screenshots are landscape. is there a particular different resolution for landscape that i should use?

In landscape your height is 800
Here's an idea -- try SuperWall Lite -- it's a live wallpaper that you can set different images for portrait/landscape. Re-size a copy of the girls so the height is 800, then you can have the best of both!

Makes sense, thanks.
Running latest f5 from fj with nova prime. Set using quickpic.
Only crops heads in landscape. Like other guy said, different height so logical it would crop some off.

I already notice, that if I'm trying to use a static wallpaper, the launcher cut it in two....
I'm using multi picture livewallpaper and all is on my xoom installed.
Had some one the same problem?

[MOD] Custom Xperia Boot Animation

I searched a lot for boot animations but couldn't find one that I would like on my phone so I created my own boot animation. Posting it here if someone wants it.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Instructions:
Your phone should be rooted
This is NOT a flashable zip
1. Place/Replace the file in /system/media/ using RootExplorer (or any other root-access explorer)
2. Change the permission of the file in options. Set it rw-r-r. (Just tick em all if you do not understand this)
3. Reboot the phone. Enjoy!
Resolution: 480 x 854
Thanks to Wechy77 who edited the bootanimation by removing all the useless frames and changing the fps to a more suitable number which lowered the boot animation size from 2.25Mb down to just 640kb!
Beautiful :highfive:
Download it now and install
Nice and clean bootanimation
Great job

Beautiful, but it's a little bit bigger, than it it should be.
I edited it, and its 640kb. I can send you to test it, and you can see what i changed.
Really nice and minimal...
But maybe it should be sexier with circles instead of squares in the progress bar
nice boot animation
Similar to the one I made months ago, but how come it over 2MB when mine is just 35KB
You need dropping fps and indexing png to get smaller size.

I just tried that and I think the squares still look better but I guess it's a matter of personal preference. I still attached the circles bootanimation here if you want it.

Wechy77 helped by reducing the size to 640kb! Certainly not 35kb but atleast its not 2MB.

Awesome app. For the moment i use it, thanks. But the problem remains unsolved because the wallpaper doesn't move. I wonder, what's the resolution of the stock wallpapers that perfectly fits the screen?

The full scale H x V dimensions for Sony Tablet S and Xperia Tablet S ICS wallpaper images is 1920 x 1280 pixels, but the images must be cropped if they are to be displayed correctly.
Sony explains how to select and crop a wallpaper image in ICS HERE. To the best of my knowledge, Sony has not yet released a video showing how to crop an image in ICS, however, they do show how to crop an image in HC in this VIDEO located at YouTube's web site. Cropping a wallpaper image in ICS is done pretty much the same way as it was in HC.
I provided a wallpaper image template and explained the pixel dimensions and viewable areas of wallpaper images HERE. I hope you find the template and information useful.
I make my own wallpaper images using an image editing program on my PC then copy them to my tablet into a folder I created and named /sdcard/Pictures/Wallpapers. Any images stored in the tablet's /sdcard/Pictures folder and its subfolders can be previewed and chosen via the "Gallery" selection on the "Choose wallpaper from" pop-up that appears whenever you long-press on any blank area near the center of the tablet's screen. You can also get to the "Gallery" selection via Settings > Display > Wallpaper.
Of course, you could always download and install wallpaper apps, but most of them are advertisement based and they never provided the control you can have by making your own wallpaper images and cropping them yourself.
I hope you find my reply helpful.

Nice idea, but...

If you run non-stock DPI, it will take a LOT of work to get widgets to display correctly.
I am running SlimKat 4.4.2 on Galaxy Note 2 with global DPI 245, and had offset widgets from the start, which wasn't surprising. So I installed Xposed & App Settings module, set Themer to 320 DPI, rebooted to recovery, wiped cache & dalvik, launched Themer again, and still had graphical glitches:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I tinkered with individual widget settings and discovered the widgets are positioned in absolute pixels from margins. It would be awesome if users had the option to set graphical elements in relative terms, ie, a percentage of the distance from margins/center.

Nice idea, using relative positioning and size (HTML like?) would make themes more usable on different screen resolutions. However, this would not play well with themes that have the objects designed directly into the wallpaper
I don't understand what are you trying to say. Can you clear it for me?

Grame, do you have any experience with HTML and CSS?
If you do styling of text in them you have a possibility to chose precise or relative size of text by using tags saying something like:
font-size: 16px - this is absolute size of text
but you can also say :
font-size: 2em - this is relative size saying that the text should be double the standard size for what ever the default text size is on the device
Same is possible for size and position where you can define them in pixels or percents
As I understand what OP said, Themer now uses positioning in pixels (absolute) like setting the battery status 10 pixels from right border and 10 from top. If theme instead allowed for percentage (as well as pixels) it would help with scalability of themes for different sizes and resolutions. As I said the only issue to solve would be graphics that are built into the wallpaper.
I am also having a lot of trouble with widgets on themer
