10 Apps you must download on your Nexus 10 *Video Inside* - Nexus 10 Themes and Apps

Here are 10 apps that I highly recommend on the Nexus 10. I also did a similar video for the Nexus 7 which also work great on the Nexus 10. I leave you guys with both videos, please feel free to share!

Nice video for the Nexus 10, got almost all those apps, I love the floating ones, which I knew about them but haven't installed any yet. I hope that this app gets released soon... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOqBAfMwCAc

This is actually not a app. It has to be built into the framework of ROMs. There are a few ROMs for other devices that experimented with it but it has always been kind of buggy.

Thanks for the video. Also, I have the same shirt. Great choice

I'm on a mobile network, can you post a list of them?

Never heard of Naked Browser, I'll have to give it a go. Currently using Boat Browser at the moment, and I'm loving it.

Couldn't we just get a list? Waste

Looks like its open source so maybe some ROM developers could build it into their ROMS

Like 2 week old info and its a different version of optimus g. All the optimus gs are are very similar so work on one will effect work on the others to a degree. Keep an eye in the #lg-optimus-g chat room for more up to date info.
Very promising, can't wait to try an AOSP build on this monster phone

As long as there is something going on I'm relatively content.
We have ICS and it runs fast as any JB phone. I'm through and through content to wait for now.
In my humble opinion, JB is over-rated. I have a Nexus 7 running JB 4.2.1 (the latest). Except for the screen size, I see no upsides to the JB running Nexus 7, compared to ICS on my LGOG. Additionally, if you check the N7 forum here, you will see many, many users frustrated with the laggy performance brought on by OTA updates to 4.2.1.

JB is awesome. You can put Google now on ICS but it doesn't work nearly as well as it does on JB. Also, the new quick settings are much nicer. I'm using a rom that lets you customized each one on my gnex.

Not only that we're not going to be running Google released jb, it's going to be made by the cm team which means it'll have subtle tweaks here and there that Google didn't think of

Yeah I flashed CM 10.1 on my Captivate last night and quick settings is so awesome. If you have no active notifications, when you swipe down it automatically shows all your quick settings/toggles. I love that you can use the full notification drawer now too. It's gonna be great on the LGOG.
That's awesome. The only thing I'm going to miss is the aspect ratio correction that the stock rom has.

Nexus 10 4.2.2 coming soon...

I have been seeing these UA's popping up quite a bit over the last few days, especially at the bench marking sites.
Code:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 4.2.2; Nexus 10 Build/JDP66) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.166 Safari/535.19
Looks like Android 4.2.2 build JDP66 is out there & likely will be hitting Nexus 10 devices shortly as it is already rolling out to a few Nexus 4 users.
Anyone else seen anything on this version? Any leaked change logs?
Supposedly 4.2.2 is already being pushed to nexus 4s in Brazil & Malaysia but I haven't seen anything about the nexus 10 yet
**edit sorry should have read more thoroughly that you'd mentioned this in the op

I don't think it's been pushed, but rather a couple nexus 4s in Brazil and Malaysia were shipped with it. Though I could be wrong, the details were sketchy at best

I'm not entirely sure who is to blame actually. Given that the mdnie code is missing from the kernel, it's entirely possible that the proprietary blobs from Samsung are in a way "pre-calibrated" when sent to Google.
Now of course, you could also make the argument someone at Google should have said "hey this doesn't look right", but then you're just playing the blame game lol.

I just wandered over to the Nexus 4 forum to see if there was any info about it there. There's a thread in General which has a youtube video in it (I can't do links yet but you should be able to find it).
It looks like it may be fake, because of the way it turns off.. reminds me of CM with that TV effect.

Good to know, thanks man! How's your day going? I'm trying to get 10 posts in so that I can post in dev :good:
Android 4.2.2
Does this update already come pre-installed on Nexus 10 and Nexus 4? or is it the next version after it? I'm confused.
4.2 currently comes installed on the N10. 4.2.1 will download and have you update upon setting up for the first time. 4.2.2 is the rumored next update to 4.2.1.
I just hope that next update will fix screen calibration and google chrome problems

I would say it's more than rumor. While the video itself may be from some lonely attention seeking geek, the UA's showing up in multiple counties via numerous server logs, not just BM sites either, I'd say there is most definitely a 4.2.2 update on its way. I would not have even posted anything in the first place if I hadn't been able to find it in the logs of numerous servers.
Not to mention, it would be pretty dramatic & a bit too thurough for your typical hoaxster, as I was able to find it for several Nexus devices.
Currently there are many things that are bugging the heck out of me, including keyboard issues, screen calibration, & the processor which cannot be optimized as it lags much more than my Note 10.1 with its Exynos 4412. There are times that the Nexus 10 is almost flung across the room by me, so frustrating.
I hope it is going to solve reboot issue as well......

Don't get your hopes up, I don't think they'll ever change the screen calibration and Chrome's issues are not going to be fixed in a ROM update. Chrome's issues will be fixed in the new few months.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
what screen and chrome issues are you experiencing?
Most likely he's experiencing he affects of a poor factory calibration. Washed out color with poor gamma tracking (boosted shadow detail) . Overly warm color temperature (red tinted whites) , and extremely poor color accuracy (muddy and inaccurate colors. This is well documented on anadtechs review of the ipad 4, as they compare measurements against the nexus 10.

Ubuntu Developer Preview DNA Compatibility

Anyone know if sideloading the Ubuntu Developer Preview would work with CWM on our phone?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBJ7U3omGps
We need to get a working CM build before we can do that. Currently, the N4 and GN builds are using a CM kernel as a base for the Ubuntu Dev preview. Theoretically, we can build something that boots (since we do have a booting CM build) it would lack a ton of things though such as voice and data.
If someone knows a bit more info, feel free to correct me.
The developer preview is limited in these functionalities anyway as far as I'm aware

After watching several videos on Ubuntu, I'm both excited to try it, and little confused. In almost all videos, it looks almost exactly like Android. The task bar looks the same, it pulls down the same way, the icons look basically the same.
Don't get me wrong, I love having options, but it doesn't seem to be very unique.
Any thoughts on this?

There are several differences. First of all, the thing you will most readily notice is that there are not button/hardware or otherwise for the ubuntu phone OS, it uses gestures similar to the blackberry 10 OS. In some instances this is better at other times, it is nice to have a button. In the long term, your benefit will be the ability to have a larger screen on a smaller device since you won't have to have a longer device to accomadate the buttons.
From a more technical standpoint, using pure linux removes some of the more contentious parts of android like the use of Java. Some of which may provide a faster user experience on the same hardware if Ubuntu can manage to ditch xorg. You could also, argue that the app availability and scalability of ubuntu is greater than android. In other words, soon you'll be able to walk around with a linux device that you can plug into a monitor and blu-tooth keyboard and have a full fledge desktop all from the same hardware -- Carry one device - access it anywhere and in whatever capacity you need it at that time.
Put it on my galaxy nexus it's not really all that it is fun to play with but I had problems with calls. DNA is much better but stock android will make this the best device all day. If only it had the front stereo speakers powered by beats this phone would never need to be upgraded

To be honest, i'll rather stay on cyanogenmod or pacman even if its jellybean than kitkat stock without the extra stuff.
I still have a hard time understanding why Nexus 4 got it before G2 because Nexus 5 is basicly same hardware as G2, but it doesnt bother me so much.

Because everyone in the Paranoid Android team owns a Nexus 4 and all has bought the Nexus 5. Pretty sure lots of them own the Nexus tablets also.
Honestly, I tried Kit Kat on my Galaxy Nexus and I don ´t know what to think about. Yeah it is faster, but LG G2 is fast anyway. Can ´t find anything which would be esential.
I hope that at least battery will improve. Otherwise it´s not big deal.

I have been running cyanogenmod since it came to g2 and i consider it stable, especially after todays snapshot release.
For me it doesnt matter if its a nexus or not i flash a custom rom anyways, and in this case the g2 hardware is better than n5 with the same software i see no reason to get n5 besides the price if you live in a country where playstore devices are available.
So you're saying its bug free? Looking at the thread it looks like a bunch of force closing etc. Etc.
