Nevermind. This is incorrect. The information would have been the MasterCard account that Google Wallet put in place. Someone must have skimmed my card and the charges were coincidental. :/
More along, nothing to see here.

I know people have asked questions similar to this before, but all of those threads seem to be from a while ago.
Does anyone know if there is anyway to get google wallet? We have NFC, why can't we use it?
Is there any other option to pay with NFC?
Thanks
Both Google and VZW say it's not our fault or we don't know, I asked a rep why they listed Google wallet as an advantage of having a smart phone but it wasn't offered and I got a non answer.
For other NFC VZW is part of IRIS which just launched but only in Salt Lake City and maybe one other place and it should be active on Inc 4G's there I think, it was part of the last update.

Isis tells me my device isn't comparable, I got the otb update at the beginning of the month. But it says I might need a new SIM card for it to work.
For anyone who wants to store gift cards like on google wallet or apple passbook, pass wallet does a great job.

You will need a new SIM, there is an encryption method used by Isis stored on the SIM.
I'm on an ATT Galaxy S3, Jellybean, rooted with TWRP installed but stock otherwise. Yesterday morning I installed Google Wallet using the method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044362.
Install and sign up went fine.
Went to the store late last night and my card was declined. Checked with the bank and discovered that someone in Toronto Canada had made 3 purchases with my number, a little over $700.
Is there a security issue with Google Wallet that I've not heard of? It's not like Google didn't already have my card number; that's how I pay for apps in the Play store. And the phone hasn't been out of my sight since I installed Wallet. I'm thinking they got my number from some other means, and the timing is coincidental, but don't really know. A search for Google Wallet security turns up nothing recent, and nothing relevant.
Any ideas?
I understand you can install Xposed framework & then spoof Google wallet to work in the UK, but I'm still curious, are there any Google wallet alternatives for the UK? Thank you!

If you're talking about contactless payments, Orange do a "Quick Tap Wallet" app. Unfortunately it's only usable if you're on Orange and have a Galaxy S3 purchased directly from them. O2 may have something similar, but I've not looked into it.

O2 have their wallet app but it doesn't support NFC payments yet. I read somewhere else in a forum that they would have it ready when the time is right. The Visa payWave app is coming at the end of the year, well at least that's what they put at the bottom of the screen during their advert. Google wallet does suport debit and credit cards now, so if you can get it working in the UK then it will work with more ease. Finally, Orange Tap to pay uses the sim card as a secure element, so it will work on most devices apart from nexus because google wants their customers to use wallet.
So really the only hope is Visa payWave for the moment.
I just downloaded google wallet and added my debit card. Is it really as simple as just enabling NFC and tapping and paying? I've never used it before.
Mods: please move to Q/A. Wasnt paying attention when I posted.

I'm pretty sure this is blocked on Verizon.
Really? Why would you say that when NFC works with everything else?

I used it 2 times on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I got it to work at one McDonald, but it wouldn't at another one. You'll need to find places that will accept Google Wallet. One app I use to find those places is MasterCard PayPass Locator.

It was blocked on the Note 2 also but there were work arounds to get it working by editing build.prop to mimic a Galaxy Nexus (only Verizon phone that wallet is allowed on AFAIK). I still have Wallet working on my Note 2 with this hack and used it quite frequently but it requires root of course.
Once we get root on Note 3 I imagine it won't be long before we'll get a Wallet thread with a work around.
So I recently bought a Galaxy Note 8 for T-Mobile from someone off of Facebook for $350.
Everything seemed legit. Ran the IMEI to make sure the phone wasn't stolen, blacklisted, or still had any payments due on it. Everything came back fine!
After meeting up with the person and making the transaction I went inside, put my SIM Card in and powered on the device. So far so good. But once I got to the Google login page of the initial device setup an error message popped up stating.
"This Device was reset. To continue, sign in with A Google Account that was previously synced on this device."
Does anyone know how to either fix/bypass this???
I don't want to be out $350 and I would very much appreciate it!!!
Thank you.
