[Q] How to go from FXR to XRec.3?

I have installed FreeXperia Recovery through the flashtool. I'd like to start using the custom kernals but these seem to require Z's XRecovery .3. How can I go from one to the other without starting from scratch?
Thanks!

I think you have this mixed up. You can use Freexperia recovery to flash custom roms & custom kernels. It's Xrecovery 1.0 that has issues flashing some zip files but only because most cooks still use the edify scripts that's not compatible with 1.0.

I thought zkernals need to be flashed with xrec .3.

I thought free. Xperia and xrecovery. 3 are the same

You can flash zkernel or goros kernel with either freexperia recovery or v0.3
There's 3 different kinds of xrec:
- v0.3
- FreeXperia recovery
- Zs new Recovery 1.0.0 which does not use edify scripts but rather amend scripts that's why most of the zip files won't flash using it.

Hehehehehe that and the locations are different. v0.3 is at /system/bin while FreeXperia Recovery is at /system/recovery. Other than that freexperia recovery works exactly the same as v0.3.
And I made a mistake on my previous post. V0.3 & Freexperia uses Amend scripts while Zs v1.0.0 uses Edify scripts not the other way around as I previously posted.

1.0 isn't recommended as it has removed support for amend scripting which most packages uses. While 0.3 supports both scripting method, so its better but not better than 1.0 since it doesn't support dual booting if I'm not mistaken. But XDA VS 0.3 = No differences apart if what Lockon Stratos has mentioned.

Where can i Obtain CWM and how i Can Install it?
I read other thread but i don't understand all what i must do
PS sorry for the english
Go to CWM thread : here
You must root your device, and install busybox on your 2.1 Stock firmware.
thanks for the reply
I use a cm and i don't know if it incorporate cwm. How i can found it? What appened if i install in a cm that don't incorporate it?
If you have the latest cm then it has cwm included, best way to check is reboot to recovery, if recovery text is blue its xrecovery, if its orange then you already have cwm

ZKernel what am I doing wrong.

Hi I'm trying to install zkernel on baseband 67. I have done a fresh install using seus. rooted it via flash tool reboot, then installed busy box from market and then installed xrecovery with flash tool and installed the zkernel with flash custom zip. When the phone boots the kernel is still the same. I can't see what in doing wrong.

out of personal experience ive noticed that using the freexperia version of xrecovery gives me problems wen installing kernels. but i dont have the same issue wen i use zdzihus xrecovery. try installing Z's version and it shud work.
you can use freexperia recovery to install zkernel, just flash this chargemon after kernel install, chargemon_FXRec_default_CUSTOM.zip, can be found here:

Dont forget to thank DooMLoRD for his help fixing all guides and howto's
I just installed xrecovery and it worked perfect, and I helped doomlord test his back to stock method for people with broken usb connectors, so I already have loads of respect and thanks for him and thanks to you guys for pointing me in the right direction.

[REQ][THEME]Someone can test my theme?

Hi guys!
I created one theme a while ago, for my future Arc S, and I want to ask if someone can test it and post screenshots, if possible.
Designed to 2.3.4 Stock ROM. Apply using CWM Recovery.
There's no name for it.
This is for my personal future use, but if someone like it, feel free to use it
http://www.multiupload.com/TBDJH5F0DA
I got this when I try to install:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update package...
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation aborted.
Thanks for the reply. As I said, i was just a test.
No problem. Keep on trying
When I get my Arc S, I will keep trying testing. I am not any dev, just one 14 years old guy thinking about my close future

The reason why it aborted is because u are using amend scripting and it needs to be edify for the new clockwork that's why it isn't working but u could also take the apps out of the zip and push them to system apps

Hey guys, sorry. I forgot about this theme. Forget it, please. I think I will get my Arc only in April 2012.
It was a theme mixing Honeycomb (45%), Cyan themed (45%) and 10% of Ginglebread.
Again, sorry for everything and when I get my Arc (or maybe a Pro, I'm still deciding XD), I will post again here.
Sorry for english
