Hi guys,
I decided to flash a kernel, Team Skyfire kernel in fact, on my Samsung Galaxy S2 i900.
Problem is, my device is now bricked. I can power it on, it shows the samsung logo along with the root triangle, then shows the new kernel boot logo, then the screen turns black. I think it powers off, but im not sure. Sometimes if i press the home button the screen will then turn white.
I had CM10 running beforehand..
Can someone please give me advise on how to solve this?

Well firstly your phone is NOT "bricked". All you have done is flash a incompatible rom/kernel combination resulting in system partition not booting. This does not mean your device is bricked of "soft-bricked" as some n00bs like to call it now.
Its likely that the kernel doesn't support Android 4.2 (CM10.1). Just reboot device back into recovery or download mode and flash a compatible kernel to get your rom booting again like the vsync patched Siyah or other.
Alternatively re-flash CM10.1 and it will replace kernel with cm10.1 default.

Hi guys,
I was playing with my s3 last night. I was very sleepy so I guess i've messed something up.
Here is what I did. I downloaded MIUI-India ROM and installed. It came with its own kernel which it normally didn't include.
After downloading stweak getting CMW working back again I reflashed it and flashed the SiyahKernel 1.7 right after it. It worked and I started
sTweaks and instant flashed a second rom (ParanoidAndroid) to it with SiyahKernel 1.7 right after it. After the reboot it gets stuck on the dual bootmenu. It doesn't give any option like press vol down to boot second rom or something it just shows background after few seconds screen turns black and the buttons bellow just turns on and stays like that. Now when I tried to boot it into CMW it rewrited again with something and now I get odin mode instead. Please help me out.
Hi guys it's me again. I've fixed the problem. I have CMW flashed back again by using ODIN Desktop and now I'm running the MIUI and Paranoid Android.
Hello,
I've got a problem with my Galaxy S2 I-91000 unbranded rooted with official ICS rom (but not the one from my country, the Frankenstein one if I remember well). It was working fine for a few weeks and this morning it failed to wake me up... (thanks to my loyal backup alarm clock otherwise I would still be sleeping haha...). It seams the phone juste shut down by itself during night even if plugged to the official wall charger. I've tried to restard it while on the charger and get stuck on the Galaxy logo (the one pulsing with a purple/blu logo). After 10min on that screen I removed the battery and try again without the charger. Now it's getting stuck on the Galaxy SII white text logo (the very first screen on start up).
I've tried up + home + power for recovery mode and other options but after a few second I've kept the three button I've the Galaxy SII screen turning black and then coming back again...
I've tried down + home + power and I get the screen from Odin that ask for loading a custom rom. So I seams my only option, ? I've downloaded a rom to try, I've choose Super Nexus copy the Google Apps + Super Nexus Rom to my formatted SD card and accepte the rom download with odin... and here it get stuck on the screen saying: "Downloading... Do not turn off the target device"... after 30min on this screen I've removed the battery and give it up.
What should I do now ?

Did you try, pulling out the battery -> hold power for 10 seconds -> putt battery in and boot?

Yes one of the first thing I did. However I've tried again and this time it kind of goes further, I get the little intro but laggy then it get stuck on the second logo (purple/blue one) like the very first time I've tried. I'll try the guide to fix unflashable or soft bricked SGII... let's hope.
(In these time I understand the bad side of using Google Auth. for many website )
EDIT:
I've tried the Guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449771
Flash with code, modem and CSC get stuck on NAND write ....
Flash with . pit: I didn't because I couldn't get a .pit file in the provided archives. I found some on internet but I don't trust them as I don't know what is the purpose of the .pit file.
Flash Kernel: get stuck on NAND write again.
Now I get the yellow triangle with warning about recovery mode in Kies. So I've re-installed Kies again and tried that but I can't use it because it didn't failed during an update from Kies...
Basically I'm stuck with a useless smartphone without doing anything on it that cause the problem directly...
Anyone found a fix?

Exactly the same thing happened with me today! Has anyone found a fix for this yet?
Hi!
I installed this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292347 and after boot logo the screen turn black and the phone don't boot. When I touch the hardware keys the phone vibrate but the screen doesn't show anything.
I went to recovery and restore another rom, but i want to know what really happened..
Thanks.
You may not have compatible tegra part, Post it in the forums and see what the kernel developers have to say
Hi
So I've had my Samsung SIII for just over 18 months, and it's all worked fine etc. I've never rooted it or anything.
But this morning it will not boot up. When I try to switch it on the start up sequence happens, but it gets stuck on the flashing Samsung splash screen. If I turn it off it just restarts and ends up back on that screen. The only way to stop it is to take the battery out.
I've tried starting it in recovery mode (power+home button+vol up), but the standing, open android just flashes and I end up with the android lay down with the red exclamation mark from there. It then loops between the two androids and the Samsung SIII start up logo screen. I have tried to press the volume buttons whilst on the red exclamation mark screen but cannot get to anywhere from it.
However, it will load the download mode (power+home button+ vol down) just fine.
I have looked all over but most people encountering anything similar have rooted their devices, which I have not.
Also, last week I lost all of my contacts which were stored on the device (I don't know why) but that might have something to do with it.
I don't particularly want to hard reset the phone and lose everything, but if it's the only solution I will do.
Thanks.
In download mode is the product number shown or a blank?
If it shows i9300 then you have a good chance of flashing either a full stock rom or a rescue firmware (see general forum) using odin. You will need to factory reset in recovery afterward, but your data is almost certainly unrecoverable.
If the product number is blank then you have partial SDS and require a new motherboard.

Do has boomboomer said above but as a last resort before flashing back to stock or a rescue firmware if you flash PhilZ recovery in download mode with odin. You then have a Aroma option in PhilZ recovery to browse and copy phone files so you may be able to recover some data pictures etc.
Please read PhilZ thread >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 << and the special features thread about Aroma file manager in post #3
Please note use as a last resort to get your data back! and read everything! Also all this is presuming you can get into PhilZ recovery after flashing..
I'm having the same problem , been looking through lots of topics. When I switch on the phone it's not booting android guy lays on his back. Download mode and Android Recovery are in my range.
I've been trying to flash stock-firmware from sammobile.com with ODIN but no effect , I mean It all went OK in Odin Operation list than fially phone reset and PASS. But this android guy is still laying on his back and making fun of me xD
Before trying to get back to stock ROM, I've had rooted phone and installed RR with 4.4.2 for S3, now I don't have a clue what shall I do next ...
Any ideas ? (the noob[me] have asked )

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747m unlocked and rooted. I was thinking that this was the same process as model i9300 but maybe not. I went through the steps of trying to install Cyanogenmod (cyanogenmod wiki for i9300) and got through most of it except got stuck on step 2 of the bottom section where it wants you to boot into the Clockwork recovery. All that showed on my phone was some blue text in the top left saying "Recovery Booting..." with the Samsung logo for about a second, then it would go black. I was still able to boot up normally so I decided to download ROM manager from the Playstore and see if I can boot to Clockwork that way. It rebooted the phone with the same blue text then went black again. No matter what I do now it only does this. I tried holding volume up + home + power and also tried volume down + home + power but I see the same screen with the blue text then black. I'm thinking that since I encrypted my phone via the Android OS a while back this might be preventing access to Clockwork. I forgot that I did so. Nothing happens when I plug it into the computer and nothing seems to happen when I plug it in when Odin is running. Any help to get this booted up in any would be appreciated.
Are you flashing correct rom? i9300 roms won't work on i747m and might even brick it. Might be better moving this to correct forum.

I thought my I747 was the same as the i9300 but I guess not and that's probably where it went wrong. I just want the phone usable at this point.
