I have scoured the web looking for an answer or similar situations to this and so far I have not found any.
I have found issues with sensitivity and then pen not drawing as it should, but that is not my problem.
When I first got the note 2 the airview dot lined up perfectly to the point of the spen, now the dot sits to the bottom right of the point of the spen no matter how i hold it or at which angle.
I just wish there was a way to calibrate the dot to the point of the pen but as for now I haven't found a solution. So, I just turned off the dot so it wouldn't drive me crazy.
Thing I have tried:
Switching form Right to Left handed in Settings
Tapping the pen on a hard surface (This acctually made the pen more responsive to touch)
Drawing on all sides and corners
Scribbling at all angles
I have seen these suggestions on the net and none have changed the dot position. I'm assuming it may be the magnet in the spen it's self. If I knew anyone with an spen I would give theirs a try, but I haven't met anyone yet.
Last piece of info: The pen draws exactly where I touch it to the screen, the dot just doesn't know where the tip is...
My airview dot sits a little above the nib. And it annoys me to.
I remember reading somewhere about calibrating it using a rheostat under the spen button. I'll see if I can find the link and post it.
Edit:
Found the link, looks like it's just for sensitivity. But it only describes one of the potentiometers, no idea what the other adjusts

Flashed a new rom and the problem is solved. Must have been the black ice theme I was running.

My pen is so far off I can hardly use it. I tried the LCD calibration pen test, but even that's hard to complete because I have to draw beside the boxes, and I am unable to draw near the bottom of the screen at all ..
Did you change your LCD density? Maybe the unit went bad on you. Go to the ATT store and have them look at it.
Idk if this helps but one thing that helped me was when i read that the Spen is setup to work best at a 45 degree angle. I used to use it more at a 90 and the calibration was way off.

Try *#0*# && s pen test that's the best i got! Lol

I haven't done anything with the density .. and I've done the pen test several times. If anything, it makes it worse. I can hardly complete the pen test because my pen barely touches the boxes before it physically goes off the bottom of the screen.
it's off by about half a centimeter.. don't really notice until I'm trying to sketch in Sketchbook, which is basically impossible. Maybe I should try a wacom pen and see if that's any better
I just used a straight edge to draw down the very center of the boxes in the pen test.. this is what I got. (and I've tried drawing to the edges several times to auto calibrate it, doesn't seem to help)

I am going to Home depot today and get some aluminum Tape and try this.
Possible Fix Video for S-Pen
That tape is pricy. Hope you can find a small roll. I wonder how the guy in the vid figured that out. Amazing. Hope it works for you.

When i did ot i just drew in the center of the boxes until all of them are green
&&does the tape still fit in the s pen holder thingy on the phone?
(excuse my poor vocabulary>.<)

I think you're missing my point. If I draw in the center of the boxes, the line appears outside the boxes, and they do not turn green. I can draw to the side of the boxes where the line appears in the boxes and they turn green, but this does nothing to help my issue. There is still about a half centimeter difference between where I place the tip of the pen on the screen and where the line appears.
I would like the line on the screen appear directly underneath the tip of the pen, not off to the side.
Also, from that video I don't see anything about the tape addressing my issue. As far as I can tell it just reduces the sensitivity and prevents the pen from working at extreme angles. My issue is with the calibration of the pen..

It cost me $7 for a roll at HD. I'll let you know after I finish the honey do list for today.
Like the title says... Is this a defect or a galaxy note feature?
Sometimes when I'm using the s pen, it seems like it taps the screen even though the pen does not even touch the screen yet. I can recreate the problem especially on the bottom right areas.
What I want to know if this actually a note feature.
It's weird because in those areas I only need to hover the pen and it will click/tap the icons there.
Same issue here with Dot button in Memo thou.

Same here... Bottom right just over the back button ... Driving me nuts
Happens to me too....
It is a feauture if you feel comfy with it. It is a defect if you do not feel comfy with it. I dnt find it to be a defect

There's been several mentions of this defect here on the forums already.
Here's the short explanation: the magnet from the speaker on the back of the phone is screwing with the s-pen signal a little bit in the lower right area of the screen.
Here's the short fix: wrap a tiny piece of aluminum tape around the s-pen, right at the bottom of the button, as seen in this video.
Or you can wait and see if Samsung makes an updated version of the s-pen that doesn't get the interference.
The bottom-most right-most corner of my display (in portrait) is not responsive to touches and is kind of annoying when typing. I have to usually try several times to get the response.
Stock ROM, only rooted. I just reset it again. I changed the lcd density back to 320 to see if that was an issue, formally at 240.
I used the S-Pen to do these drawing to demonstrate the problem area. The results are strange. In portrait the problem exists but when in landscape it doesn't appear to be a problem. Is this a hardware or software issue or anyone else experience this?
The local AT&T shop says it’s definitely not normal and I can go to their local warranty shop but I don’t necessarily want to get a refurbished replacement if the ICS release might fix it.
I dont have a note yet, but personally myself, I would unroot and take it back asap. Hopefully someone on here will be able to offer a better solution soon, but if not, then I would return it. Hope you get it sorted out.
Pretty sure it's the built-in offset. Go to phone settings -> pen options and change the dominant hand to left. I think you'll find that it is now the bottom left corner that won't respond. Also test with the phone upside down, and it should still be one of the bottom corners (but the other side, since you've turned the phone upside down).

Changing the dominance does swap the S-Pen's ability to recognize that corner and changes it to the other corner.
However, it's stll not recognizing my finger touches.
So to confirm, using my finger with the dominance swapped yields the same results as the images posted with the S-Pen.
When rotated to landscape and using my finger, I cannot reach that corner like I can with the S-Pen when rotated to landscape.
I would believe this is a finger touch issue and not to much S-Pen
Actually. I have a slightly bigger problem. Sometimes hovering my spen above the right bottom corner will trigger a touch. Mainly the space. Enter. Backspace. And m keys. I think I'm going to get it swapped out

that's actually been covered, there's a post here about putting aluminum foil tape on your stylus to correct the issue.
AT&T is sending me another one... we'll see what that one does and hope that it's just not my personal perception.
Replacement arrived and does not share the issue
I've tried this with at least four roms, two from FJ, one HYPR or something, and now stock official ICS. In a recent-ish update an option showed up in the settings that allows you to set your finger to do something different than the s pen. Before both would draw or paint or whatever you were doing, but you can set it to where your finger will erase or smudge or another one of four choices. So the app should know the difference between pen and finger. I know the phone does, I have the arrow indicator always there when the s pen is close...
but as far as I can tell Infinite Painter thinks everything is your finger. If I tell it that I want my finger to be the eraser then the s pen becomes an eraser as well. Really confused me for a while when I had set finger to smudge and forgotten about it.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it my phone or is there a problem with the app? I feel like it could be from loading so many non-s pen compatible ROMs because when I went stock ICS via Odin it left a lot of my apps there (like titanium backup). Any ideas?

Pretty sure its the app because it's the only app that force closes on me often...to the point where as much as I love it I hardly use it
Fair enough. It crashes on me constantly as well... it would prolly be my favorite app if it didn't. Since my current rom doesn't have S-anything, Sketchbook mobile is my fav. The brushes in that are fantastic, but no one has been able to match s-memos' smoothness and ability to ignore my hand resting on the screen while I draw. Sketchbook gives crazy lines all over the place if my palm touches the screen... makes drawing a lot harder when you have to watch where you hand sits all the time.

I dropped my Note 2 right on the face and broke the glass. The top right corner looks like a spider web with a few cracks stretching to the bottom. The display still works though . I plan to get a new glass and replace it myself. I've found quite a bit of info on how to do it.
My only question is this. When I last made a call with it the screen wouldn't come back on when I pulled it away from my face. I'm hoping it's just because of the cracks that run right across the 2 sensors at the top. Do you think it could be that or do you think maybe one of the sensors broke when it fell.
I sure don't want to have to replace the whole lcd unit. That's about $250 while the glass is about $20.

Hey thanks Luke. It's good to see you again. I'm actually using my Charge again for calls and texts. I find I've gotten really spoiled by my Note. The old phone feels clunky and slow.
Thanks for the good info. I'll definitely look for that when I take the busted screen off. It'll take a few days to get the parts. Wish me luck. I think I'm gonna need it. It looks like a hard job.

Another question. I'd like to be able to make the display stay on when I'm holding it up to my ear. Does anyone know a way to do that? I'd really like to use my Note even though the screen is broken. I don't like my Charge any more because it's too small.

Open the phone to the dialer. Hit the menu touch button then call settings. Un check auto off during call. The setting even says turn off proximity sensor.

Thanks. I can't believe I never noticed that. Now I can use it til I can fix the screen. Just waiting for parts.

small crack with resolution prob.
I have a small crack in upper right of screen & now my sharp color is gone. It is now very dull almost like I used a photo app & added an overlay to it. Need some advice
Well I got my parts and got the tools I needed to fix my screen. The problem was I got the wrong type plastic razor blades. I got scraper blades instead. I tried it anyway and ended ripping my LCD screen. Now it's costed an extra $ 200+ for a LCD Digitizer assembly. Hopefully the next day delivery will still work even though yesterday was a holiday and the post offices were closed.
Anyway, what I'm leading up to is don't try this if everything isn't kosher. It's a tricky job.
Update: I found out they won't even ship it til Monday. I guess I don't get it back this weekend. I really don't like my old Charge after using my Note all these months.
