Bin4ry always worked like a charm to me... Have you got all the adb drivers installed?

Hey, I'm experiencing the exact same problem with my xperia Go which has the same software installed as listed above. One click root also appears to be failing (however it is not a problem with the Adb drivers. Those should be installed correctly.) Anyway ive factory reset the phone. Installed the latest pc companion to update, and pretty much every combination of things I could think of. Not really sure what to attempt next, I've kind of hit a wall. Does anyone Have any Idea how I might proceed?

You are using 6.1.1.b.1.54 .It is not directly rootable. You have to flash 6,1.1.b.1.10 kernel first.
Follow these steps :
* Flash 6.1.1.b.1.10 kernel with flashtool.
* Root with bin4ry or with flashtool.
* Flash back 6.1.1.b.1.54 kernel
You will be rooted.

Do you have USB drivers installed?
First step, instal PC Companion, so that the drivers for your phone is installed (if already installed, skip)
Second, download Bin4ry's X10Flashtool v 0.2.9.1 (search it)
Third, Extract, run x10flashtool.exe
Fourth, enable USB DEBUG on Settings, Application, Development. on your phone
Fifth, Connect your phone via USB, do NOT mount the sdcard, simply press back when asked that 3 options
Sixth, Click root, and wait, done. check if there is superuser app on your phone, if not, try root it again.
Last month a go, my x8 with stock 2.1 just got new update from PC companion,, upgraded and nothing wrong with root proges, u miss someting when doing root I guess,,,,,

I think it way easier to use Super One Click.
Instal PC Companion, and connect it one time before you run SOC... skip if you already have drivers.
Download Super One Click... this one.
Enable USB debugging, connect phone to your PC, open SOC, click ROOT, wait, reboot. DONE!
I've used Super One Click like I've done in the past SU app appears in my app drawer. Root Checker says that I'm not rooted, but SystemApp Remover lets me remove system apps, so I'm rooted but I'm unable to install BusyBox. I've given up on trying to get BusyBox installed for now.

Download this. Extract. Copy that three files in sytem/bin using Root explorer. Reboot when done.
That's xrecovery and busybox. Only that version works
Heyy... I had the same problem with rooting once.... i tried the busybox by stericson i guess, from market. It solved the issue...
I've currently given up on rooting as my X8 got a software update notification when I was connected to my laptop so I'm curious as to what the update is.

Yes it is true. But X10Flashtool gives more than just Rooting your device, its also gives JiT, Xrecovery, and an automated APK Installer, and also it automatically install busybox when rooting, so why use SOC if you want do more than just rooting?
I just give a all-in-one solution, so that he dont download anything else anymore. (for rooting, jit, xrecovery)

I found out that the fake update was because I reverted to the 006 baseband from the 015 and removed some of the system apps that I don't use like wisepilot and Roadsync using System App remover, because it reverted back to baseband 015 and re installed the system apps that I removed.
Strange thing is that System App remover allowed me to remove system apps that needs root to do, while busybox install said that I wasn't rooted.
Will have a go at re rooting again as I quite like the look of ratchs Gingersense ROM.

@dare-devil, well, every other apps have problem so far, but X10flashtool don't, also, custom ROM doesnt have automated apk installer. Titanium backup? you have to install it first right?
Besides it's a VERY handy tool in case you brick your X8, because there will be a scenario where SEUS doenst want to update/reflash your phone, i have encountered that, thats why i use x10flashtool for flashing my phone.
@roland, of course, its created by Bin4ry and Androxyde. 2 great devs

It makes it easier than Super One Click as you don't have to mess around with downloading the Busybox Installer and then Installing Busybox.
I'm sure it'll save me having to put .apk's that I download off the forums onto my sd card and then Install using Root Explorer to install them one by one.

Xperia sola its root problem

Hi guys...I've a problem. I want to root my Xperia sola with ics...I follow the bin4ry method for root the phone without unlocking the bootloader. Before run the runme file I write stuff\adb devices and I got this: BX903CF2LL device....then I run runme and select 1. On the phone I restore the rootme backup and the phone reboot. On the cmd shell the script says me that everything is ok, but no supersu app is installed and the phone isn't root.
What can I do?
EDIT: I may have additional information for you guys...While the phone is rebooting after restore rootme backup, on the shell I seen this:
Good, it worked! Now we are rebooting soon, please be patient
Waiting for device to come up again
Going to copy files to it's place
mount: permission denied (are you root?)
You can close all open command-prompts now!
After reboot all is done!Have fun!

Here is how to backup firmwares
You need to reinstall the firmware using SUS (Sony Update Service )
After completing go to C:\Program Files\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs\
Copy 2 files One of 15 mb and other around +- 200 MB into a New folder
Run FlashTool > Advanced > Decrypt Files
Source folder : New folder that you created
From Files, Select both of the files and select OK
Wait till the decrypting finishes , after it does, a list will appear on the left
From Folder list, select all and move everything to the right
Fill all the details in the box
If the firmware that you are backing up is ICS then mark Disable Final Verification Check and select OK
Select your device > Ok
You will see the backed up firmware in > C: > flashtool > firmwares
Xperia sola ics mount permission denied while rooting with bin4ryq
I'm also gettin the same problem

Yes, I installed drivers, when I go to import device it just says that there's no device to import.
Also, after trying one more time, when I press the confirm button (step 5 of the tutorial) it says that an error ocorred (it says something about memory and to try again),

For this you will need Flashtool and Xperia drivers intalled on your PC. (Installing Sony PC companion will do)
Well, what you need to do is download the kernel of previous version. I have attached a file but I am not sure if its the old version. (.10)
Flash FTF of your desired STOCK rom ICS via Flashtool.
Flash kernel of any version before 6.1.1.b.1.54 .
Root it using the file attached.
And you are done!
Make sure the USB tethering is ON in Settings >development !
I have attached the files on page 11 on this post:

NO, but don't worry.
Is your bootloader unlocked?
if not, this must be the reason.
if ýou have unlocked bootloader then,
Flash kernel again and root it using .10.
I am thinking you must have disconnected the phone in the middle.
Were you on administration when you tried to flash it ?
You must give administration rights to run the programme.
Were the drivers properly installed ?
A screen came and said to restore and then you didnot disconnect your phone till the programme asked you to ?
Have you followed instructions properly ?
IF all this doesnot work, Flash FTF of ICS of any ICS you like . Root it again !
I have rooted my phone so many times with the file i sent !
And you are using the option 1 when it asks you to root. You are rooting a mobile and not a tablet.
If anything you need to ask, I be writing you back!

As I suspected, your phone has come with locked bootloader. This means that Sony will not support your phone to be unlocked. The reason simply is they do not want to give out cheap phones so you can use any other sim on your phone. However, you can only run roms which support locked bootloader and you can not experiment much with your phone as it will brick your device. There are quite few roms which support locked bootloader. Further, the tutorial is simply from Sony and thus will not work for your phone!

The text file attached in OP doesn't help much as I am not able to know which FW are you using.
I assume that the FW is greater than B.1.10 which Is why u are facing problems while rooting as the FW used in the guide in OP is B.1.10.
FYI, B.1.10 was directly rootable without much hassle just by following the guide but if you have a C.1.0 / B.1.89 / B.1.100 Stock Rom on your device then you will have to do some extra steps

You don't need to unlock your bootloader in case of flashing stock kernels.
Unlocking bootloader is necessary to flash custom built kernels.

Glad to help you ..
Next time, you could just install custom kernel, download a rooting flashable zip file and install it via kernel's Recovery. I do it often, because I prefer to use Clockworkmod's Superuser and by that zip file, I avoid any kind of problems.

Rooting z2 on 17.1.2.a.0.314

Hi all,
Finally decided to root my z2 since I got it in April. I'm on the above firmware but when I try to root with cubeundcube rootkitXperia tool kit I get error adb is not recorgnised command, program or batch file.
Anyone know how to deal with this. Do I need to download anything else side from the tool kit!
Where do I find adb for z2?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

.314 rooting is piece of cake and noob-proof all you only need to is :
install flashtool => install drivers => connect z2 in USB debugging on and unknown Application on
Start flashtool, press the root button, select superuser and press OK
check you device now it will promt you to click on root me
reboot and done
Do you lose DRM keys with this method?

No, you only lose DRM keys if you unlock your bootloader

Which version of flashtool should I use. The one I have on my computer is one I used with my old Z.

Yeah thanks, finally tried it with latest flashtool. I followed the process but it did not reboot my phone, it just said rebooting device but nothing happened. I unplugged and rebooted myself.
I've got super user installed but no root access.
When I ask for root permissions in flashtool, I get root access denied.
I downloaded root checker from play store which said I have root but no apps which require root can get it.
Any ideas, doesn't seem like I can repeat the rooting process without reflashing the stock firmware first.

Yeah super user is installed but doesn't seem to do anything!
Don't think this method works for this firmware. Trouble is, don't think it can be undone without flashing stock firmware again.
I know he was just trying to be helpful but it's really going to be a pain to root now!
