On Saturday night I foolishly loaded AT&T's MIUI on my phone, then flashed with Scott's patch for Verizon.
-NO GOOD-
Since I did this, my phone was stuck in roaming. So I odin'ed back to stock, and did a ##RTN# from the hidden menu, which gave me back "no roaming" and restored voice and 3g connectivity. Unfortunately, I can't get my 4g back.
So Verizon is sending me a "certified like new replacement" which I'm not OK with. How do I pull the information I need off the CLNR, like the screwed up EFS system, and write it to the new phone using dd? Someone said there are 3 EFS partitions to be backed up, which don't contain the IMEI or anything sensitive (my imei is fine). What 3 parititons do I need to backup and what is the correct dd options like BS, etc. to accomplish this?
If I'm successful, I'll put the CLNR back in the box and send it back to them.
Not sure if you can do that since it goes off you device serial number. Also the new one will most likely have the new ota and you will not be able to unlock until adam releases the new unlock method. I thought I seen someone say that the root 66 odin fixed their 4g issues after making a similar mistake.

Thanks, when I read it I somehow registered it as root 99 and search didn't find anything. Much appreciated.
Start here these guys had similar issues.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043636&page=163 they had issues with root but I swear somewhere one of these guys did the same thing.
Sorry I can not fi d tbe original post where he had the same problem. Been reading a lot and the threads are pretty cluddered lately specially after the ota.
Back on stock root 66... still no 4g... i download the phone info app and can't select anything related to LTE and make it stick. As soon as I step back out the menu, it reverts.
Actually I think there is a thread where they describe how to restore it with the secret menu. I hope I can find that thread for you or someone else can help out. I will keep looking.

Re: Can't get 4g back
The problem ended up being with the prl... go figure... I grabbed a spare SIM and activated it, which triggered a prl download. I guessed it may have had something to do with that after I was able to force LTE from the hidden menu.

Glad you got it fixed. Should put solved in you title so it might help someone else in your shoes.

Im not sure, i dont remember doing anything with that, just putting the eH03 and atlas files into odin and thats it.
Continuing along droidstyle's train of thought, I think you should try flashing a new modem. Go to section 7 of his guide and flash the one called EC09. Please let us know what happens.
Just to be clear, you are a Verizon customer in the U.S., aren't you?

Did what you suggested with no luck, same problem.
Yes i am a verizon customer in the U.S
I should mention when i try to make a call i get a message saying "we can not authenticate your phone.
Try doing a full Odin reset, as laid out in droidstyle's guide. When you boot up, you'll be on stock bloated gingerbread. From there, do a factory reset through the Settings --> Privacy menu. When you boot back up, you'll be prompted to program your phone just as you did when you pulled it out of the box. Follow the prompts, pushing 1 to program.
Hopefully, you'll have a signal and 3g by then. If not, you may want to call Verizon. From there, you can continue following the guide to do whatever you want to do.
i think you should try activating another smart phone your line then reactivate the fascinate...also known as esn swap.

I did what you said and i still get the same problem, but one weird thing that should be mention is when i did a factor reset it doesent do the phone set up thing for me, i have to manually press *228 to do the phone authentication
Verizon could not find a solution
@droid i do not have another smartphone
Have you tried flashing back further than gingerbread? I recently came back from an mtd rom and repartotioned with the eho3 file and I am having some odd quirks my self. I have heard it said several times that eb01 is the most successful file to use when repartitioning. That was going to be my next step, it can't hurt to try for you either.
One more thing. You didn't by any chance have clear phone efs checked when you odined did you? There was some one that did that recently on here and had similar problems.
"Edit". If you did wipe your efs the meid in your phone won't match the one on your account and will cause those issues. Go into settings, about phone, status. Right down your meid then compare it to the one printed on the FCC sticker underneath your battery. If it matches then thats one thing you dont have to worry about. If it doesn't match then that would be your problem.
Even though we're not sure if this is the problem, I did find this thread for someone who had the "Phone EFS Clear" box checked:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990939
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go through the motions.
Was this your regular phone before all of this started, or is it a new phone for you?
I am encountering a very similar problem, just the 3g part, i can send/receive calls and texts, and ran across this thread looking for a solution. Were you able to fix it?
Hi Guy,
Yesterday I unlocked my phone in hopes of placing it to another carrier I have at&t. That was successful. I then flashed the modem in hope to get Tmobile 4g working on my phone. But it was giving me issues. I was running Rooted Stock ICS at the time. After doing some reading amount the threads, I've concluded that I probably needed to get a ROM(?) in order for this to work? So I flashed ParaniodAndroids JB on it. Well my new problem is, that I lost the baseband and my IMEI number...and I have no way of getting it back. I did write it down. So I know what my number is, but is there any way to get it back? At this point, I'm ready to give up. I've spent hours looking for info on how to fix this issue. I actually wish I was back to my ICS now. Right now my phone is useless without any signal.
So does this mean that I have a bricked phone? Please let me know if there's anything I can do to salvage my phone.
Thank you.
Reflash the appropriate modem (re download old one could be bad) and then make sure you set the APN to a proper T-Mobile one. That should hopefully get you going.
I'm not sure where your imei went, it should be in the "about phone" section. But it you don't see it there its also on a sticker behind the battery I think. At least that's where I've found the printed imei before.

UPDATE
So I did a complete unroot using Odin. Once I did that all of my info came back to normal. However, I am back to GingerBread. Which isn't great, but I know where to go from here.
If anyone is still having trouble restoring their IMEI number, try Unrooting your phone completely. It worked for me.
Best of luck and Thanks!
Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice please. I recently got a Galaxy S2 from a family member after they upgraded to an S3. It was running completely stock Gingerbread 2.3.3 not rooted or anything. Anyway, wanting to clear it out, I went to the security menu and proceeded to erase and wipe. Everything booted back up fine but no EMEI number, and no cell data or baseband showing. I followed some of the guides on here to try and fix the /efs folder (after upgrading to Jelly Bean and then rooting), edit the nv_data files with a hex editor and finally downgrading to back to the stock 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM. Oh and I tried the SGII Repair app too. Still nothing can fix it. By the way, it's not blocked.
I'm at a loss. I don't know what else to try, unless I hadn't downgraded properly?
Please someone, I will have no hair left!
Contact Odia via PM & wait patiently for a response (I.E you send a PM & wait for a reply, you don't send any 'reminders') & he may be able to fix it for you for a small 'donation' (Tho I'm not even sure if he still does this kind of thing).
Other than that, without an EFS backup, it's a service centre or get a new phone job.

Is your phone under warranty or not?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nope - no warranty. I can't figure this out. Why would a wipe and restore ruin a perfectly working phone?
No idea. And it's not particularly relevant in that it's not going to somehow enable you to fix it if you know what went wrong (which is how you'd normally troubleshoot a problem).
Once your IMEI is gone, your options are very limited if you don't have an EFS backup.
Given you have no warranty, if Odia can't/won't help, try local mobile repair shops. They may be able to fix it more cheaply for you than Samsung/authorised repairer.
Hey guys,
So I got a real doozy here...
I flashed my Verizon Note 2 (SCH-I605) to the SOKP Rom from a Jedi X Rom (v13 I believe). After the flash, I noticed my network was not working. Eventually I found out that the device was registering as a GT-7105. Not sure what went wrong, as the rom was flashed with no errors. I also ensured that my recovery was on the appropriate version (TWRP 2.6.3.3 in this case) and I also did a factory reset. To try and rectify the issue I wiped the phone and tried various other roms. In every one of those cases I found that the phone was constantly roaming. I had checked my network mode and tried switching between Global and LTE/CDMA which did nothing. Being completely out of options, I just installed to a stock rom through Odin (VRAMC3 4.1.2) and let it update via Wifi to 4.3 and still nothing. (I am well aware of the Knox security feature and will address this in a moment)
Here are the different ways I tried to diagnose the issue after this that led nowhere:
1. Made contact with a Tier-2 specialist from Verizon that tried various diagnostic methods and found that my phone was simply not registering on the Verizon network, or ANY other network for that matter.
2. I went to a Verizon store and got my SIM card replaced.
3. I even went to a repair shop to see if the phone possibly had a faulty connection.
I have already verified that the IMEI is correct based on the sticker behind the battery. The PRL is on 15310. The very last thing I tried was entering "getprop" inside a terminal. I'm taking a guess here, but I noticed my ril.serialnumber was all 0s. Could this be the problem? If there's anymore information someone needs, I'll be happy to post it up. Just hoping I can get a little direction here. If I need to root my phone again to try something, I am more than willing to. My phone is out of warranty and not insured, I'm not really concerned about the Knox warranty trigger unless it will render my phone completely unusable.

If updating the Profile and PRL on a stock based rom doesn't get it back, then you might have corrupted your EFS partition. I don't suppose you used TWRP to back up the EFS partition when you did a nandroid?
FYI: Doesn't matter what the phone is listed as (n7105) for connecting to the network. It's just a build.prop edit away from saying whatever you want it to.

Can't restore what wasn't backed up. The efs is unique to your phone. In some cases you can use another part of another phone's efs partition, but not always and is gonna be a huge hassle either way. But yea, I think you're in a pretty tricky situation. I was reading on another forum that the serial number being 0 shouldn't cause this issue though, so not really sure what to think. Usually when this sort of thing happens, the IMEI gets messed up too. Updating Profile and PRL didn't help?

Yeah, it's actually in the Status section. It does not allow me to edit anything in this area. I don't see anything that says Profile.
Hmm I guess VZW decided you don't need to have access to those functions. Weird. Sorry man, I dunno what to tell you at this stage.
Edit: Found this -
"The only acceptable way to update it on LTE phones is to take the SIM out, boot the phone back up, let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes, power off, reinsert SIM, reboot phone. That's the only one I know of, there may be other ways to do it but that is the easiest."
Not sure if it will help, but certainly isn't going to make it any worse. What baseband version do you have installed?
First thing you need to do is write down your IMEI number. You do NOT want to lose that. Seriously, write it down with a pen. Also your serial number and anything else you find in the EFS partition you might need that's specific to your phone. THEN: at this point it sounds like you'll have to find someone's EFS partition. I've seen it around on XDA multiple times as I've gone through threads similar to this one. Once you find an SCH-i605 efs you'll have to flash/replace/edit yours somehow, try editing your own first to match the same values as your peer's. Don't replace personal information tho. If you end up replacing it you'll have to go in and re-enter your own IMEI number somehow. I am not an expert on how you can do this, but stated here is/would be the process.

Hey guys, I just gave up and traded it in for an S5. I knew a guy so it was a good deal. I appreciate all the help!
I bought a sprint note 3 last night clean ESN but we couldn't get it activated, took it to sprint found out it was rooted, but had no sprint firmware on it.
ran root checker on it and it showed rooted. i can't get it back in to recovery
i get this message "
Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing"
in download mode it says knox warranty void 0X1.
i've tried rerooting, and writing factory firmware on it in odin and it keeps failing.
it will write the CF-Root file and won't do much else
got TWRP on it and can now get into recovery.
does anyone have a flashable zip of the stock firmware and rom for this phone please.
tried to flash Vision X rom got message no MD5 file found
and you must flash your device kernel ?? i thought roms came with kernels....
i got the jelly bombed rom on it up and running now BUT it still doesn't have any sprint firmware on it.
so i still can not activate it. what it's missing is anything sprint. the wifi calling ect.
so how do i get all those files and how do i add them.
i found a stock file and installed it in odin and now i'm unrooted, but the phone still will not activate.
i tried to do an update on the software on the phone and it gives a message that the phone has been modified and can not update ???
i have no idea what to do now ... why can't i activate this damn phone it's all stock now.
the tar. file i flashed is 4.3 can i flash a 4.4 tar. filewith wifi calling in odin since it's not rooted anymore?
would that fix it ??
any help will be appreciated.... right no it' just a paper weight

Flash the stock tar or one-click, each located in the dev forum.
The OPs of each thread contain thorough instructions for upgrading everything to the latest stock Sprint firmware, baseband, bootloader.
Then, and only then, get the phone activated via a call to Sprint or hie yourself to the store for same. It should propagate quickly, and you'll be able to do all that which one can with a Sprint Note 3 on their network.
Good luck!

it passed and it don't have sprint 4g splash screen on boot up and still won't activate.
it's still missing all the sprint files.

None of which I can think at the moment. The one-click contains everything, and I believe that includes the carrier specific files. I may be wrong, but I believe it's an all inclusive factory image.
Just for kicks, what's it say for the model number behind the physical battery?

SM-N900P it even has a sprint logo on that white sticker
as i said in the other thread, i've been trying to activate on my online account, by switching service from my note 2
to this note 3 .
when i switch service over to this note 3 my online account says it's activated, but my signal bar on phone has the red X and no signal.

Sir micmars i found this thread with exactaly the same issue i'm having, you gave a solution at the end of this thread but no one posted if it worked of not, i keep trying all these different nc5 roms installing through odin and i keep getting that red X on my signal bar.
Did you do a full factory reset within the phone's os? A second important thing, since you mentioned a red x for signal. Is the original Sim card in the phone? Cards for Sim slots in sprint phones are not interchangeable like gsm cards are. The card is paired to the phone from factory. After a full reset, maybe go by a corporate sprint store that has, or can get, a replacement Sim card for your phone. This is the only thing I can think of after all you've said so far. If that doesn't work, then there could be some deep programming involved, ##data#, to get it back into shape. Flashing Roms won't change this deep parameters for a sprint phone. Either will factory resets. You might have got a phone that someone phucked with deeply or you might have bought an expensive paperweight.

the phone came with a new sim card, and we set it up with the phones IMEI on line and it went to the sprint store with that sim and they didn't mention it was an issue. will take it back to the sprint store tomorrow and see what they can do.
Took the phone to my sprint store and the tech messed with it for over an hour this morning and said **** it.
must have a bad radio or something in it, because it never would show my phone number.
the good news is he said, you'll have a brand new phone in 3 days. at no charge.
Lucky day for me. He even knew Knox was flagged.
