Hey every one,
iv bin watching the latest DEV of all the Desire HD ROMs and Z ROMs and I have started to notice a trend here so I looked back and saw that most ROMs are set to the HD2 first.
So my question is why the HD2 why is it always first, I'm thinking about getting one just for this reason that it gets all the test all the ROMs first because its gets them.
and also what makes it to easy to port it over to that device?
i think its because of his power and screen
uhm maybe because its always at the list as Top device? and alot ppl have the HD2 or make stuff for it. and when other people found something they want to bring it under the most people?
( and HD2 is still after almost 1 year an Top Device)
Cool thank you guys for the quick reply,
I was also doing a little more research and found some stuff its it also because you can just put it on your SD card, and just boot it with no effects to your phone. or do some people hard flash it to their phone?

what im saying is that`s every time a ROM gets dumped it gets ported to the HD2 before all the other ones. i would like to buy a HD2 so i could use the ROMs first.
hahaha.. i love how everyone envy the hd2 now. love it.
biggest screen beside samsung tab also powerful cpu same as the new htc devices.
the HD2 is crazy phone.
im really looking forward to getting one
Because HTC HD2 is the father of every phone
Edit: I love my HTC HD2. Thanks.
No android roms yet. All you gotta do is copy the file to your SD card and your good to go. Given you have hardspl which only takes 3 mouse clicks to install.

just make sure you call htc and get your free sd card replacement (for tmous users).
So I kinda decided I got to life with the little dust part. I can almost not see it and with all the finger spots on the screen it will not be visible to. I might only be able to see it with screen off and very clear light outside.
So I wonder how many people have this problem? On internet I saw many have that and with some its not just one small one, but more and other I read kept getting HTC Evo 3D's which every time had the problem to.
I contacted HTC but they said I need send it for warranty and then I might not have it 2 weeks and further more I unlocked the bootloader with HTCDev so I kinda voided parts off my warranty, so I'm not willing to take that risk for something that doesnt really bother me to much as there is no garuantee that they will not charge me.
As HTC knows I unlocked my device.
Your warranty is void for software related I issues this has nothing to do with ROM or bootloader I would send it in
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using XDA
And then waiting two weeks and not having an smartphone? Yes they said I could send it in, would take about 2 weeks they said.
They have two options, HTC sends a courier to pick it up or I could to one off the shop-in repairs. But I think you right, they say 2 weeks, but my experience is that HTC is quite fast, I had with mine HTC Desire HD it back within one week.
I had this issue on my second new evo when they first came out.. First one I had wireless went bad in it.. After a week of using..
The second one had one spec of dust looked like a dead pix but wasn't was dust tiny tiny but so damn annoying ... I sold it..
Ended up buyin a new one a year later
That was mine plan to selling it as I was really dissapointed and especial in the store where I bought it, but that doesn't work really and I like the phone. I'm going use HTC warranty. I'm going make the phone ready for warranty. Who knows when it comes back there will be ICS.
I can miss it right now I think, not when I go to China.

It will never come back with ICS
I have some dust under my screen as well. A large dust particle in the middle and then some dust spread out near the front facing camera. I have insurance and I tried to take it in to the Sprint store and have them replace the screen or at least clean the screen.... And they wouldn't do it.... They kept telling me all phones have dust under the screen after a while.... Dumbass techs....
Warranty in my country is better I guess. But I think they probably send me a new one as I don't know if they can fix it, I rather would have had the store gave me another one, but they don't do that, so I will have no phone for about 2 weeks, but I hope they do it as fast as last time, as I had to send mine HTC Desire HD also in for warranty.
But the store where I bought it wanted also only send it to warranty, so then I can as well do it myself directly via HTC. Why you can't get it fixed? Dust doesn't belong under an screen for sure? I would try it again if I was you.
I don't know if you can get warranty via HTC? But I they give 2 years warranty in Europe. I meant not they will put ICS on I meant maybe when its back the ICS update would be out there already.

Hope you get it fixed man dust is so annoying lol. That was the first time I ever seen dust under the glass on a HTC phone.. HTC said to send it in to them and they would fix it but I didn't want to wait 4 weeks to get it back so I sold it ... Been happy with the one I got now..
My experience is that HTC is faster in the Netherlands, last time when mine HTC Desire HD needed be fixed it was just 1 week, I hope it will be fast like this again because I will be without phone in that time.
Oh yeah I find it also annoying, its not like I only use it inside or in dark places, so I can see it when there is clear light like in the day. I also though selling it, but selling it kinda hard because HTC Evo 3D is not so popular, most people look for HTC Sensation (XE).
Previous week on 28th March Dynafix which HTC sends if you are in the Netherlands came to pickup mine device.
Now on 3 April it has been shipped back to me and I think tomorrow on 4 April I will get it, so it took completely one week and I heard nothing about that I relocked mine device.
They writed down that they replaced the display module. I hope now everything is right because this an great phone for less then € 300 new.
Anyone else having problem with Sync after the last PC update? Till yesterday it was working well, then I decided to update it, since then it doesnt see my phone. Followed all instructions, including disabling the antivirus during install, tried it twice - nada... Now I dont know if I can do s-off without it, just found a good wire. That f****** sucks!
So I can confirm that the new Sync v3.2.10 does not support Amaze 4G (although they claim it supports all HTC devices), and had to find the previous version (3.0.5617) which works fine. The funniest thing - in the main HTC website Amaze 4G is not even listed, as if it doesnt exist. I can only say that HTC totally sucks ass and that surely will be my last HTC device... If anyone else needs to install 3.0.5617, heres the link:

It should start downloading right away...

Not at all, I've never sent my phone in to HTC & they haven't had a problem helping with stock supplies. Not to mention Sprint handles my phone troubles & after them, Asurion.

I was on the fence about doing the HTC Dev unlock since I got my device. I finally broke down and unlocked it using Regaw's one click method. According to HTC's new terms of service -- I should say from what I've HEARD of the new TOS -- they will honor hardware failures if the device is unlocked using HTC Dev, but they will not support software issues. This to me makes it a no brainer to unlock, since ultimately as Noiro stated, Sprint, then Asurion THEN HTC are inline to fix things.
Thanks I think you guys just convinced me to unlock lol

Here's another reason. While on stock rom games like temple run and temple run brave stutter like crazy, but now with custom rooted rom these games perform so smoothly, much much much better. I believe other app and games has improved also with custom rom. There's some magic in what these Dev do to bring the best in this Evo (Thank you to all the Dev's).
It kept me from rooting for a long time on my Evo 3D. I waited until the brick-downgrade-hboot method was available so I could un-void warranty if needed. MeanROM made my device so much nicer to use that I almost wasn't going to upgrade, except I really needed a better camera.
I was really holding off on unlocking this one, but the Evo LTE is such nice hardware held back by some questionable software choices that it's tough. Once Mikey started putting out MeanROM for this, I had to unlock. I am nervous - I don't have TEP or other warranty. But, Sprint is usually pretty good to me as a 13 year customer with multiple lines.

Yeah bro, same here. I was on the fence as well and I decided to wait it out but once I saw how the amount of custom roms and mods were popping up lately I ended up just giving into the pressure. I used the one click method as well, pretty simple and straight forward to use.
I was going to hold off, but the one touch root was pretty easy and after upgrading from my EVO 3D and waiting forever for root on that, I didn't want to wait. I switched from Sprint's TEP to the Best Buy version and I don't think that rooting it will be that big of an issue if I have to return it.
I'm waiting for the dev's to fine tune their roms, hopefully in the coming months there will be a consensus as to which roms are the best and I will then unlock and install at that point. For now I'll live with sense 4.0 on stock
Surprisingly, I'm still stock ROM (rooted, but not unlocked). I'm being stuck up and waiting for S-OFF which I doubt is ever coming.
I was going to hold off awhile until the menu remapping mod. That mod alone makes it worth unlocking to me.
I sure hope guys are not afraid to void a crappy warranty. From my experiences with manufacturers warranty they will most likely not honor 50 percent of repairs anyways and blame it on wear and tear and say it wasn't a manufacturers defect and god forbid one of the water strips was triggered.

Who ever goes through HTC anyways? It only voids their warranty not sprints

Before (well on the 3D) using the unlocking method left a lot to be desired initially & there were things you couldn't do without S-OFF.
This time around, it seems like the "S-ON" is for show. I guess we'll know come custom kernel time, post-source released versions anyway.
*This comment was made with very little knowledge of what S-On/OFF (Security On/Off) is, I thought I knew until this phone came.
I guess just to show that the bootloader's cherry had been popped (labeld "tampered")
Hey People, this is my first thread. I have a htc desire x and I recently updated to android jellybean and saw that the notification bar is now transparent (I am not 100% sure if it was transparent before updating). The problem I see with it is that when I slide to left or right on my phone, the picture moves as it should on the screen but the part in the notification bar remains the same. In other words, say I have a straight line in the middle of the picture and I swipe to the left to go to the next screen on the right side, the line will have moved a little to the left on the wallpaper but will remain in the center in the task bar. I hope this is a good enough explanation. I know this isn't major, but for some reason it's quite irritating to me and I was wondering if it's a common bug on android jellybean on all devices, or perhaps exclusively to the htc desire x, or if it is, in fact, only my phone doing this. Thanks guys.
Its a common bug. All people with jelly bean update have this. And wait around, you'll get a fix soon

Thanks for your speedy reply. I'm glad to hear it will be fixed. Have a nice day, man. :good:
I reported this to HTC and they were acting like it's an issue with my phone after sending them screenshots from both complaining users and my own phone and it kinda pissed me off.
They started that restore your phone, boot it in safe mode, take it to an official HTC retailer to get it reflashed bull and after doing everything they said and not receiving a fix they told me to reflash it again (I kinda lost it at this point and got aggressive).
Would you guys mind reporting this because the more reports they have the higher the chances we have that the issue will get to the development team.
Strange

This is rather strange, they usually help me out without any problems. I have not reported this because it's not a big issue to me. However, I do believe, for some reason, that the glitch came with jellybean and not with the new sense version. I have no real reason for this, it's just my gut. I will see what happens if I report this, when I have the time.
please solve the bugs

Any news on the update?
Hi all,
So it's been almost 9 months since the JellyBean update and still, where I live(Romania) hasn't been yet released an update to fix the sound and status bar problems! Found out that in India, they released it but not here in Europe! Any news? Or HTC dropped development on HTC Desire X?!
Looks like you have bad luck... Try installing a custom ROM, they have got the sound fix included...
