Launcher fc - HTC EVO 3D

Hey,
Till today morning i have a weird problem:
I dont know why but the launcher keeps fc'ing the whole time...
Im on yoda s desense rom with nova launcher
Clearing cache does not help
Im not able to access settings ( no shortcut in status bar)
I dont have other launcher installed
Is there an easy way to solve the problem or do i have to flash another rom?
Due to not enough place on the sd card i dont have a copy of the rom or a backup( i know -.- deleted it the day before to make place for the new one)
Is there a way to clear the apps data via recovery or something similar?
If not i would just flash a rom later in the day, but it would be nicer to have a working backup^^

Clear data.Factory reset in recovery. (I think) will help ya out
Try just clear cache and dalvik first..

AW: Launcher fc
Cache and dalvik didnt help , already tried :/
I know data wipe would help, but i hoped there would be a way with keeping my data ^^
Is it possible to install another launcher with adb?
I mean an apk file on the pc ^^ is there a command for that?

Need help

Please I need help. I had Omega 9.1 installed but today I decided to add a theme (Vertumus ICS domination 1.1) and when I installed it something went wrong. Now it's telling me that systemui has stopped working also I can't transfer or get any files from the phone. CMW even says that it can't mount the internal sd card. Please I need info on what to do next. I want to if possible to not remove my data but if it's needed I will do it. I also wish to use omega again, what are the things that I have to do.
Thank you in advance !
Edit: What if I tried replacing the systemui.apk ?
Try flashing Omega again and immediatly wiping Cache and Dalvik Cache aswell as using Advanced->Fix permissions.
That may fix the issue.

Thanks I somehow managed to make the phone download omega from bittorrent I will wait for it to download and try your method. It should save my files right, I mean data and apps ?
It actually worked. Thans a lot you are a life saver I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to bring back my phone

[X-U] How do I clear Cache/Dalvik cache?

Hi, I know we shouldn't really need to do that, but in the last 24 hours my Xperia U has suddenly started lagging, before I wipe it or throw it at a wall I want to try wipe the cache/dalvik cache as it solves similar issues with my touchpad. What's the best way to do it as obviously stock recovery is none existent so we don't have the option there. I don't want to really flash CWM for this one task. I'm on ICS and rooted.
How would I go about doing it.
Thanks.
Go to /data/dalvik-cache and delete all files,NOTE: You will get few FCs during deleting but thats normal.
not 100% precent sure its that but i think it is
taken from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921540
That worked thanks, phone is nice and snappy again.

How to change from one rom to another rom? For example, now my phone is on (Rom A) and if i want to flash (Rom B) how?
Should I just clear all the dalvik cache and then Flash the (Rom B) Or should I start over flash ICS and root again??
Sorry for my bad english

Insufficient Storage Available

hi:
i use [ROM] UNOFFICIAL CM9 with working camera prev9
i know this h/b asked many times and i searched for an answer::
an app stopped working.. cleared cache from settings--no change..
reboot, cleared cache and delvik.. tried fix permissions also--no change..
uninstalled app / reinstalled app-- got error "Insufficient Storage Available"
looked for any ".com" references to the app--didnt see any
i have 219mb used and 1.3GB free internal storage ..
i also dont see setting to install to SD by default, just in case that would help..
i havent tried to install anything while on this latest prev9, i doubt thats the problem tho..
thanx for any help
You have to delete the .odex file related to that app usually in /system/app if not I'm pretty sure you can delete.odex files using Lucky Patcher

i uninstalled app, then looked for a related .odex file but found none
tahnx
Are you using something like root explorer? It may be in /data/app but I'm pretty sure the file manager had to be root enabled. You remember how sometimes in Windows you uninstall a program but the shortcut and folder are still there? You have to manually go in and delete those files yourself? That's giving you that insufficient storage issue. If all else fails, full wipe out wipe of system will put you clean again.

k, i did what you sugg'd:: did find a related odex and deleted it..
reinstalled from google play .. gave me the"unfortunately...has stopped" error..the same as my original prob that started my insufficient space error..
i guess im beat..
i ll probly have to wipe out and reinstall ..
i thought for sure a restore from nandroid wouldve helped tho..
thanx..

After you delete the .odex, just to be certain the app is restored to the pre-odex state, in Lucky Patcher > Long press troublesome app > Remove ODEX with Changes! (restore application).
Then, go into system/settings/applications/all applications/Google Play Store and hit 'clear data'. Reboot into Recovery > Wipe dalvik & cache (a tad redundant, I know), reboot into system.
If this fails, after clearing caches, try re-flashing Gapps.

thanx for the reply.
i did fresh install including prev9.. i now do nandroid backup of that clean, naked install -- nothing else installed..
i will do a nandroid restore of a previously working backup and try all you
suggest..
i dont know if there is more current version of gapps than "gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip", but i ll find out find what i need
thanx again

I stumbled across an application that should rectify your issue:
Amaze Memory Clear
Give it a shot if you are still having that issue. Report back, too - I'm kinda curious, myself.
that extra step you took was really great of you.. i will try it..
EDIT::
i found an obscure workaround for my original prob.. install ol file manager.. dont have to change anything.. just have it installed..
it did fix the stopped working problem..
so i reverted to my nandroid prev9 backup , installed ol file manager on this backup and everything works as before..
i did installed your memory clear app and it found quite a bit of space after i cleared apps cache and recovery mode cache and delvik..
so altho i dont know if it wouldve fixed my original prob, i do know it frees up alot of space...
really , i would bet against it fixing that prob cuz i had alot of space .... i didnt have much installed..
thanx for the tip

[Q] TwLauncher keeps crashing!! help!!

Hi all.
I was uninstalling unnecessary applications from my phone yesterday using root file delete and it seems I deleted something wrong so now my TwLauncher keeps crashing.
I downloaded another Launcher (which is not a very nice interface) temporarly because I was told that clearing cache from TwLauncher in settings would fix the problem but it did not. TwLauncher still crashing.
I re-installed TwLauncher from a file I found in another posts again it crashed, and tried installing TwLauncher 4.5, after istallation it also keeps crashing!!!
Please help I need TwLauncher to be good again and not crash coz other Launchers suck.
Factory reset. If that doesn't work, re-flash the rom you're currently running.

You should make backup before you start deleting apps. Never would you get into this situation.

Best post I've seen here this week. Wise words indeed. These phones are essentially mini PC's nowadays, fail to backup regularly at your peril (people who don't backup regularly always seem to be the people who really need them/could have done with one).
Is there any way of doing that without installing a ROM again or doing factory reset???
Even when I install a new TwLauncher 4.5 it still crashes..
any tips?

Do you lose your files and messages if you Flash a new ROM?
You lose your apps and messages call logs...
Merry christmas and Happy new year

*Sigh* I think you're missing a trick here, you may lose your files/messages but the point is, if you also make a BACKUP of those, it doesn't matter if you do or don't.

Now I removed TwLauncher completely.

for messages u can use 'SMS backup pro' app, and for apps u can use 'Mybackup' or 'Titanium backup' apps (which require root permission though)

1. U can flash complete ROM using Odin and wipe data & dalvik from cwm. (u will loose messages & applications, but it'll work fine after that)
2. Never Uninstall/Install anything unless u are very sure about that. Uninstalling required apps can lead to this.

[Q] Full Wipe?

Hi! Long History, Yesterday I tried "Android Tweaker" app from one guy here on XDA.. BIG MISTAKE.. I select the tweaks i want and apply them all! well, first, I lost root access.. (lucky me i was on release4, so i can root again without problem) second, the tablet now is so unstable, sometimes is really fast.. and other times, (most of the time) is just SO SLOW! even my xperia 2010 is faster! so, i decided to root again and try to fix everything.. i fixed some things but still i have so much lag!, so i decided to install again my firmware.. I boot on the recovery and i tried to install my firmware (release4) again.. no luck .. the recovery says that i can't install the same version.. so my last resort.. Factory reset, i do it from recovery.. now on the first boot I have to type my name, my gmail account etc, so I can see that the factory reset works, .. but when I see my homescreen.. i realized that the tweaks ARE STILL THERE! :crying:
So, how do I perform a FULL WIPE?
Thanks!
btw.. DO NOT INSTALL "ANDROID TWEAKER" here is the forum thread for this app.. i you want to see it..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2127000
wipe only clear YOUR data, but do nothing to all system files
edit /system/build.prop
change ro.build.version.incremental smaller
flash you current rom again

1. Root again using AiO
2. Use AiO to install 'rescue backdoor', Tweaks & Mods Submenu
3. Reinstall R4
4. Re-root
5. Don't f*** with this tablet, they are very easy to mess up and hard to recover from...... In saying that most of the time you will be safe when the incremental is lowered (rescue backdoor)
6. Enjoy your "NEW" Tablet
Thank you both! I'll try right now! :good:
@<robin> really? thought that it erased too... because on the recovery says that "System and App will be erased" but thanks for the info!
@stifilz You're right! All sony phones that I used were incredibly "open".. and you could do whatever you wanted .. If you had a problem, with a simple wipe, everything work like new!.. Is sad that this tablet is so limited.. :crying:

Yeh I use Xperia S phone and with flash tool etc no worries. Xperis Z tab is developed by Sony mobile not VAIO like the first two tabs (apparntly). So perhaps the Z will have FREEDOM
