I have the same problem with my device especially if it's recording louder sounds, it must be because of the mic sensitivity or so can't seem to find an answer for that :S

[Q] recording video without sound

Hello all,
I have a problem with my new SGS2 and could not find anywhere a solution for this. When I record a video there is no sound recorded also, only the image... In the camera application there is no option for enable/disable this feature like in the SGS1. Anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks.
You meant that there is no option to record a Video without Audio right? If it is then I'd also like to know the same.
Regards.
Very strange request that but a valid question nonetheless (not that id be recording a video without sound)
No!!! I don't want to record videos without sound... who would want this? My SGS2 does NOT RECORD VIDEOS WITH SOUND!!! I mention that when I use an application to record only voice it works, so it's not the microphone...
Oh! For me it's exactly the opposite. I sometimes will like to record a Video without Audio. But I just can't find an option to do that. It always records Audio with a video
nobody had this problem?
very faint audio when recording video
I have a Galaxy S2 purchased for Bell, rooted with KG2 kernel, and unlocked for Rogers. When I record video using the stock Camera app, the sound is *very* faint. The mic works fine when making a call or when recording audio with an app like Voice Recorder. I didn't try making a video before rooting, so I don't know if that is related. I tried lgCamera and had the same problem.
Any suggestions for what could be wrong?

[Q] Sensitivity of microphones when recording videos

Hello,
is the any possibillity, how to reduce sensitivity of microphones for recording videos or any other way, how to improve the quality of sound in videos? When there is really massive soundsystem, the sound in videos is raucous and is not clear enough, example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxRQ9O6qypI
my friend bought iPhone few weeks ago and found this handy tool for it ... http://tascam.com/product/im2/. Does anyone know about any similar tool for Android devices?
thx

[Q] Microphone gain

Is there any way to change the microphone gain for recording videos? For example, I find the gain is way too high for recording concerts, all I get is hissing distorted audio. I was an an Aerosmith concert the other day and the audio quality is that bad that all you can hear is noise, no music at all.
I have rooted my phone and have xposed framework installed but I didnt see any apps or anything on there for this to happen.
I used to have a Motorola Atrix a few years ago and it had a recording option for concerts, which lowered the gain and made it excellent quality for videos.
Any ideas would be helpful, cheers!
Flash doom kernel. It will give you the ability to change the gain

I can't flash any kernels, my bootloader is permo-locked

Any news about it?
The sound recording in louder Areas is very very bad.

I agree, I recorded some video at a concert last weekend and it's all broken up and distorted. Such a shame since the video quality is so great. I would think firmware/software could fix this. I don't want to have to buy the external mic just to get a quality recording.

The answer would seem to be an external STM10 mic.
Funnily enough, at an Aerosmith concert too:

Problem with microphone when making video calls

I have a Samsung Tab S7+ with lastest firmware and software updates.
The only problem i am facing is the microphone.
When i capture a video or record sound, it works perfectly. I can hear the recorded voice clearly.
But when i making video call (viber, messenger, duo, skype,...), the volume on the other line's speaker is very low. I tested with my mobile phone and result was the same.
I thought the reason is more likely from software than hardware.
Does anyone have the same problem as me and please help me fix this issue. Thank you so much.

Had precisely same issue. Due to teaching over videoconference, solved it with these 2 items
Adapter for USB-C
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CVX3516/
Microphone
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QFRXJ9R/
The microphone is also excellent for our laptops and vastly superior for built-in mic
