Just bought...questions? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Just got my Note 2.
Purchased from Walmart outright. (bescause i get a discount)
Out of the box the battery door doesnt snap all the way.in one spot. Not a big deal. Called verizon and they are sending me a replacement cover.
Should that fix my issue?
How to i get rid of this multi window tab thats on my home screen. that half circle thing?
Is the best durable case an otterbox? My budget is around $40 (amazon has the otterbox for this)
Im rooted and unlocked running clean Rom. So far so good. Just wanna get this door issue resolved.
Thanks!!!

Mine's like that also in one spot. I just have to press really hard and it finally locks into place.

Press and hold the "Back" button and you can turn on or off that tab.
As far as cases, I like to keep my phone slim and sexy, yet protected in a fall, so I go with a TPU case.

Rubber Case for the Tilt 2?

Just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I was wondering if they make a rubber fitted case for the Tilt 2? Kinda like an Iphone one...
I have one for my US Tmo that I got from the Tmo store............
Don't order the one from boxwave http://www.boxwave.com/products/praetoriancrystalslip/htc-tilt-2-praetorian-crystal-slip-case_3729.htm

I ordered this one for my tilt 2, you have to slide the keyboard out in order to get the top and bottom piece on. It takes a while, but once I got it on, it stayed.

This thread is for the Tilt 2 Rubber cases only!
My Boxwave Praetorian Crystal Slip for the Tilt 2 review.
The first picture shows the gap you will get with the top piece on or off!
In the last picture. There is a little piece towards the right of the screw, that the top part of the case won't fit over.
If you let anybody check out your phone with this case on it will come right off.
Nice pics...
I'm glad you took a pic of just the bottom piece. I've actually thought about just buying the bottom piece since that's all I'm concerned about...it seems way too thick. I know I wouldn't like it on my phone and would end up just tossing it.
I'm really looking for one of those silicone back covers that they have for the iPhone...
Thanks again,

The bottom part of the case is good and fits really nice, but for $20? If it came in black maybe, I said maybe!
Right now I using my old Tilt case after I had the velcro replaced and with the bottom part on, it's way to tight.

No prob mate, just wanted to point that the other thread I mentioned is for ALL
SILICON case for Rhodium (any model)
So instead of having 4 threads for avery model the idea was to have one for all models, that´s all.
Peace

WOW! Thanks for posting your opinion and the pics. I was about to order one of these. I totally agree that the bottom piece is too thick and that's a HUGE gap it creates between the top and the base. That seems like it'll wear the springs out. Sucks that there just doesn't seem to be a good rubber case for the Tilt 2. I'm really hoping Seidio will make an Innocase Surface for the Tilt 2. They already make them for the Sprint and Verizon version of the TP2. I've read where people have been told they're going to make one and others where they've said they will not. I'm just saying I'll believe it when I see it.
Kinda lame Seidio...

We understand your efforts of trying to merge all into one thread and all, but honestly, I would prefer 4 Separate threads. If i have the ATT tilt 2 (which I do), I would not want to read OVER 30 PAGES of freakin' reviews and such JUST for my one model. We understand your good Samaritan acts here, but seriously, people don't have the patience or time for that -- UNLESS, every 5 pages, you would like to do the honors of summarizing which cases work for every model since you want to dump it into a "come-one-come-all" thread. I don't know about you, but your thread is too long for the newcomers who are looking up a good case for their model. Besides, it doesn't hurt to have more threads in this section because its pretty slow paced.
Sorry, was kind of getting tired of you rejecting every thread that pops up about this.
Oh, and many of the posts in that thread are close to useless and does not help at all. So basically ---> your life is wasted reading that long of a thread. Make a new one at least please.

[Q] HTC Flyer Screen Touching Itself

I just got my Flyer from Cowboom yesterday, and it looked brand new. However, a lot of times the tablet will start pulling the lock itself, exiting applications by itself, click on random buttons by itslef, etc. Is this a normal thing to occur? How can I fix it? Should I send it back for a replacement?
Do you really need to ask ? Nope not normal.
Definitely not normal. Try doing a factory reset of the device and see if that it. If it doesn't, I'd return it.
Sent from my HTC Flyer using xda premium
In a thread on the Flyer forums, the poster had the same problem and someone told him it is fixed with a screen protector? Do you think that fixes it, because it doesn't seem like it would be a problem with the screen.

Freaking hilarious!
I have a similar problem. I recently bought a used Flyer and it came with the HTC pen. Here's my problem, whenever I use the pen to take notes, sometimes the pen will continue to write even though the tip isn't touching the screen. The tip is close to the screen but doesn't actually touch it. I was wondering if I had a defective pen.

There's too much ink in the pen. No that happens sometimes with new batteries
If you don't get that sorted out soon, your Flyer may go blind...

I had the same problem with mine and I thought the screen digitizer had gone bad. Mine was in a case that had some metal in it and after I took it out I have had no problems at all. Yeah, it sounds stupid but I now have a otterbox case which does not have metal and I have not had any problems. As far as the pen I took the batteries out and put them back in and fixed the pen problem.

I've had to do that with the pen. I found I must remove the battery for about a minute, then reinsert. Less than a minute it doesn't reset.

Anyone have this black eforcity case?

http://www.eforcity.com/psamglxtlc06.html
I was wondering for anyone that have the black version of this case, does the flaps have magnets in them? It's listed for the other colors but not for the black. I found this kind of strange so I emailed them and it seems like they take forever to respond. So if anyone have this case, could you please comment? Thank you.
P.S. I'll also take recommendations for similar cases.

I don;t have this case, but many similar cases have magnetic closures. Why do you care?
A colleague of mine has the iPad version of this case, it's not bad for $10. I just ordered the Tab 2 7" version - I'll post my thoughts once received...

This has to be the dumbest question ever "Why do you care?". The guy is obviously asking so that he can make a smart purchase than going in blind and come to find out its not what he wanted and then having to return the item back. If you don't have any helpful advise to give why even comment? The nerve of some people!

The case for my GTab 2 7" arrived yesterday. I'm used to rockin the tab "naked" but I'm liking the case. Nice and thin, magnets keep it closed nicely, all ports/buttons are available (including IR). Two little things... 1) It has a little loop for a pen or stylus which is annoying, I'll cut it off, and 2) the case doesn't lie perfectly flat against the tab in the area of the Samsung logo on the font of the tab, directly underneath the home/back buttons. A little annoying because when attempting to hit one of the buttons you first contact the case which is sticking up a bit.

Im a jerk? Come on man, think about your answer. If anything you came off being rude. You cant assume that all of these case with flaps have magnets as i have seen some with velcro and why tell the dude why does he care when he's asking for a reason. SMDH....
It took them days to reply but they finally gave me an answer. They say that it doesnt come with magnets so i bought a similar one but there's no cutout for the charging port(but in their pictures it did). Oh well and thank you for all the responses, much appreciated.
P.S. I care if they have magnets or not because it's more secure when my tablet drops than having the front part flap around on it's way down.

Where exactly, underneath the little flaps that are sticking up, or between the back of the tablet and the case?

I took a picture of it for you not sure if that helps. The white you see by my finger is the paper i push into that spot. I believe it's the little flaps your talking about.
Just to add, or help someone else, I have this case. I like it for the price, and it leaves the face open.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Slim-...es_Covers_Keyboard_Folios&hash=item2a25d206a5
It leaves all the ports and camera unobstructed. It's good for watching, but it is not "locked" into position, so tapping too hard on the screen will cause it to collapse flat. Only drawback.

Opened prime,gap on top

I opened my Prime to try and improve my wifi, and now there's a gap between the glass and outer shell, right near the power button. When I put it back together, I made sure I started at the top, and worked my way around the rest of the glass. Any suggestions on how Ican get rid of the gap?

Oh, my bad. I thought I did post it in this section. Brain cramp.
You have to make sure the top edge is really snug before closing it up. It has a tendency to open up if not correctly pushed in.
When mine came back from RMA it was like that.
It can also be that the glass is coming away from its backing and the seal slides back and under the glass creating the illusion of a gap. Again this was present when mine returned from RMA. To fix this you need to push the glass back down to force the seal forward and closing up the gap. Then carefully heat the top edge of the screen with a hairdryer or heat gun. I think the ideal temperature is 70c. Then apply pressure to the screen edge until it has cooled. This fixed mine perfectly.

I took a real good look at the clip that's in the spot where it's separated, and it has a crack in it, so that's why it won't clip.

thanks!
Just received mine a few mins ago. Definitely like this alot more than the official Sammy cover. Not too heavy or thick and the magnetic auto on/off works without issue. I was concerned that the size of the tablet may not work well with the folded positions in landscape or portrait, but i am happy to report they are very stable in either position. I will have pix up shortly. At half the price of the official Sammy case it is worth every half penny...
Update-wanted to add i have no issue with the magnets when the cover is folded back..does not turn off or on..

OK got ya... yep i can see that happening with this case. i will test it this evening and report back.
Edit- after checking you really need to purposely squeeze it for it to work. I also this with a screen protector around the button it will even less likely hit it. The mime glass one i have on order should be enough.
Here is a pretty cool slim case option. http://www.casefanatic.com/samsung-...over-baseus-galaxy-note-pro-12-2-smart-cover/
I have the blue one at home now, unfortunately the mailman came late today. So will not be able to test it out much till 2 am!
The case has a nice rubber felling to it, i thought it would be more of a leather feel. This rubber feeling, i like more than the leather. All ports are easily accessed adn the secondary mic is open as well. It feels sturdy in each standing position, does not feel like it will fall to easily. did not expect the sides to be so open though. I baby my tablet, so not an issue for me. Over all, very happy with this case and would buy more from them
