[Q] dynamics 2.0 or Eburon v2.1?? - HTC Titan

are there any big differences between these two?
and if there are, then what?
which one do you prefer?

Eburon 2.1 - I like the color and no more white only icons and task bar; the settings sell the ROM! He also baked in several Nokia apps; I thought 2.0 was great; this is sweet!

both have their advantages and disadvantages. I prefer ultrashots (dynamics) due to the extra custom tweaks + the clock hub used.
HOWEVER, Eburoms rom is very appealing with extra colors/themes/accents. Like Berry said...the settings do sell the rom.
As an off the grid cooker myself, both roms are almost flawless. I don't think my own roms could ever match the quality and care they put in their roms...seriously. -lol
Anyway, if flashing roms becomes addicting to you like it did to me back in the day, you will eventually flash both roms to see for yourself!

thank u for youre opinions, i couldnt hold myself so i flashed from the eburom to dynamics, and i must say that both of them seems great, but i prefer the dynamics version, because it looks/feels more like the outof the box 7.8 version, with some great tweaks.. hopefully a 2.1 of the dynamics will still be uploaded even though he sais in his post that he will stop after that.
had a lumia 900 which i flashed with the "official" 7.8 rom from the nokia servers .. but both eburom and dynamics beets the hell out of it

you're welcome!

I tried both; I prefer Dynamics, because of its "factory" feel.
And because it integrates the Nokia Drive app!
Excellent (free) sat nav.
I have not been able to find a decent sat nav app for WP7.anything apart from Nokia Drive, so I went back to Dynamics from Eburon.
I love the look of the Eburon ROM, though...

All common free nokia apps are integrated in eburon rom since version 2.1 - also nokia drive. But I 've also tried dynamics - its also a very great rom. But I like some more color in rom, this was one of the reasons I started with cooking and sharing roms. Really curious what ultrashot will put in his next version.

sorry for maybe beeing a bit offtopic, but is there a way to add/install nokia version of viber? Stock viber is without call option and a bit poor in function but i am not able to find/download/install nokia viber ( with a lot of more function). Using Eburon 2.1 and it works absolutely perfect with all integrated nokia apps

I'm somewhat curious to know what the official HTC Titan I update is to be relative to the custom ROMs. I've got bets there will be more than a few customized 7.8 ROMs this upcoming weekend...if this is all that it is advertised to be why in the world did it take this long, I do not know. What I'd give to have Skype baked into the darn thing but that's wishful thinking. I won't update to 8.x until XDA has something more definitive on if it can be HSPL and customized and then what device it can be done on.

A little off topic...I wouldn't hold your breath on this one... HTC tweeted me a couple of days ago that atm there are no plans to release a 7.8 update for the Titan/HD7. It is just speculation that Nokia is the only OEM rolling out the update tomorrow...no one else. HTC also tweeted me that if there was an update, it wouldn't be rolled out till ~March.
If it indeed is true and the Titan (or more than one device) doesn't receive an official 7.8 update, I'm afraid I might have to part ways with HTC for my next device. It only goes to show that Nokia is the true OEM that really cares for WP. I may have an unlocked device that I can install custom roms on, but there are plenty of others -especially on ATT that are still on 7720 that have the disappearing keyboard problem...my father included. And yes it is extremely frustrating!
Anyway, but yea I don't think we'll see many more custom roms. I was curious to see about the official update myself as I was waiting to build a custom rom off that to use with the 16 radio.

Why does this rom say test?

Downloaded from I can see is the latest HTC release build but after flashing the boot screen says "For testing only, not for resale"

Thanks for your help,
Kev
Sounds like a ROM from a pre-release. There are released only a few devices, usually given to press, critics etc, to be revued.

I'll steer clear of that rom then.
Looking again the latest one seems to be from Cingular....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429843
I guess there's no reason that wouldn't work with a Vodafone Touch Pro with HardSPL in the UK?
Thanks again,
Kev
EDIT:
After some more searching it seems like the lastest UK rom can be found here...

Haha if you're steering clear of pre-release ROMs, I don't know why you'd go to the Cingular one (the AT&T version hasn't yet been released). You'd see the same thing with that, Test Only, Not For Sale.

I use a cooked ROM beacuse the one that came with my phone, in my experience, is too unstable. Or the software I keep installing on it is...
Anyways, I might even try making my own ROM, if I just figure out how...
(yes, there are loads of tuts on net, found a nice one for Diamond here)
yep, the first day i used TP, i had a crash. So that day i changed my rom directly
I remember the first time when i flashed my fone. I was so nervous. reading reading and again reading, just to make sure.
Yeah, I remember when I flashed my tytn for the first time, it was nerve wracking!! I kept having flashbacks from when I attempted to upgrade my firmware on an HP PPC (non phone), and bricked it.
but the tytn went quite well, I should be getting my Fuze tomorrow, and i'll probably go with the soft reset during setup to avoid bloatware, then wait till something pisses me off enough to flash to NotATreoFan's ROM.
I'm soooo excited!
I literally purchased my Fuze last night, came directly home and flashed ROMeOS onto it. The AT&T ROM is just horrible. It's slow, ugly, bulky, just outright disgusting. I can actually foresee alot of returns on this unit from people who do not know about custom ROMs or XDA in general.
Lighting a Fuze
I used the stock ROM for less than 24 hours, by design, since I wanted some experience using Touch Flo. I did not like it. Touch Flo and my fat fingers do not a match make. I spend last night, yawn, installing ROMeOS 1.4 (I like Hang Tuah's stuff, I have since very early Kaiser/Tilt). Before ROMeOS, my favorite was Dutty's ROM. But even his ROMs, while virtually bulletproof, are "over full". I light light, simple, fast and able to handle the web, phone, contacts and calendar...simultaneously.
Still, with all the ROM changes I have made, each is a little nerve wracking. Since this was my first with the new Fuze, I read a lot of XDA forum entries. And did things exactly as Hang Tuah and others with experience suggested.
Worked perfectly. (Whew!!)

My brand new pro booted 1 time the vodafone rom, used it 2minutes,after that i flasht it already
The original vodafone rom from the netherlands touch pro [email protected] ,cooked rom much faster/stable if you ask me
The second i had a chance, I put on romeos on my Fuze -
Installed the keyboard drivers, and some tweaks here and there.
Best choice so far.
Within 30 minutes of leaving the ATT store, my Fuze was running the Elite ROM. I've had enough devices to know that nothing stock is ever as good as something cooked up here!

I love cooked roms as well. While using the Diamond, I'd constantly be on the lookout for new versions of Dutty's roms. Now that I'm using a Raphael, I look out for the new versions of ROMeOS as well as the Elite versions to play around with.
I got my Touch pro about 10 days ago, It has the official 1.90.405 rom.
I find it very stable and serve all my need realy.
No crash, nothing what so ever of what I see people around here complaining about.
I must say I am very happy with this phone.

as soon i get it from expansis first thing what i did, change the spl is happened before actually i powered up the device 1st time. ... then just have fun....
This is my first windows mobile phone, came from a long line of sony ericsson phones, used the stock rom for a few days and figured this phone is going back to the shop.
Eventually i found my way here and read about the different roms, decided to flash and i think i have tried most of the known roms here by now
moral of the story is that now the phone is a keeper instead of a item i returned.
Currently using V09 by PDAVIET but will upgrade to V10 due to some bugs.
All i need now is a ssh client that uses the resolution of the phone in a proper way then im really happy.

I too like the original htc rom but I cannot stand the voice calling feature...I use microsoft voice command so I cooked up a rom and only removed a few things I did not like to be in rom and it runs stable as hell with no memory leaks and just do not trust all the **** others do with the rom. It runs perfect. Once htc comes out with a newer rom I will do the same thing unless I find a perfect rom that someone else makes. I did use other light versions cooked by others for the diamond but with the pro and all that damn memory it comes with its perfect without a few crappy programs that come with it.....

I too Have been playing about cooking the stock Vodafone ROM. I flashed and unlocked it the day I got it as I got the handset on my work contract but wanted to use it on my Personal T-mobile contract as I have a 10GB data allowance on TMob I might release my ROM at some point as I personally thinki it is fast, light and stable. I Also cooked in a few other goodies such as .net CF 3.5 and the Youtube app from an ATT ROM I extracted.

Sounds almost the same as me, except I come from a background of Nokia phones, very happy with the phone now it is cooked
SSH client wise, I use pocketputty which I am very happy with, as ssh clients go, as it allows me to store a ppk file for auth.
i drove from the AT&T store directly to my home PC to flash my Fuze. cooked roms rule. plus it is fun to play with new toys.
The day i got my TP i installed HardSPL and right after that i went to 1 of the first cooked roms from chainfire (firerom).

[Q] Anyone still waiting for the 3.14 ROM??

i think its pathetic that tmobileUK have yet to release the 3.14 Rom
is it worth unlocking the phone so its unbranded? how much? can tmobile do this ? thanks
T-Mobile UK took about 3 months to bring out their version ()1.72) of the 1.66WWE ROM.
I didn't like T-Mobiles modding of the ROMs with thier added guff that I just went with the 1.66WWE ROM.
The only way you can get the 3.14 ROM is to use the GoldCard method.
Still waiting for the O2 3.14 ROM, However the 1.72 ROM is running fine so no real desperation to update, Lets hope they have ironed out all the creases from the first Official Release.

Or get HSLP and a new ROM from the ROM development section.
I don't know why anyone would wait for a stock rom where the carrier stuff a bunch of their ****s in there. I mean, that's understandable if you haven't heard of xda-developers, but seriously, I'd just grow a pair of balls and flashed a custom rom and be on my merry way.
I don't think T-Mobile are going to release the 3.14 rom. I posted a question about it on October 11th when it was released by HTC. Since then only Orange have released the update .... funny they are T-Mobile Sister company.
Since then the moderators just keep saying ... we have asked if it will be released by T-mobile and are still waiting on the answer...
I don't blame the moderators but I suspect T-Mobile just don't care.
I don't think this is very professional as effictively have a phone which is within warranty and I can't apply upgrades to try and fix problems. Indeed by branding it they have removed my support from the manufacturer
So just Gold Card your HD2 and play with the multitude of the roms there are.. and when you find one you want to settle on .. donate a few quid to the author.
Honestly the upgrade to 3.14 I would say is essential as I love
1) Cleaner layout
2) Better OFFICE
3) Later versions of the applications .. Love the torch app (silly I know)
I would say all in all a slicker phone now.
Hope this helps

My first car was stable and worked.. but my newer cars did the same so much nicer and were better to use.
Same with upgrading. The 1.72 stock rom is stable but the features I now have on the upgraded 3.14 rom is nicer.. you would only understand if you used it for a few days.

What I'm saying is that I've no need not to wait for O2 to pull their finger out and give us the new ROM from them.
As soon as they do release it, I will be upgrading.
The stock O2 ROM has no gumph in it from them, other than the blue splash screen (which is a lot nicer than the orange MS splash screen after it! damn you MS, damn you to heck!).
Also by keeping it stock I can better support my clients who use the same phone, after all there have been a fair few threads on "with this rom I can do X but not with this other rom"
Other threads have suggested the modifications done by operators for their phones' roms are quite heavy and annoying. The O2 one is pretty clean, off the top of my head, other than the O2 "get settings" app, I can't think what else they've imposed.
If the ROM was full of gumph that I wanted rid of, then I'd be looking at changing. Lude made that point, why stick with a stock rom that is full of gumph you don't want or need? It's a valid point for roms which are full of gumph, but the O2 one (not that Lude would probably be aware of this, hence why I pointed it out) isn't like that, hence why I've no rush to shoehorn a non-stock 3.14 rom onto it (give it 6 months without a release from O2 and I might consider it).
There's also the issue of compatibility with O2's UMTS900 update they released for the 1.72 and below roms.
O2's 3.14 release should have it built in, probably part of what's taking them longer to release it, whereas I don't know if other 3.14 roms are compatible.
What are the features you've found are improved with the new ROM?
Car analogy
My 3rd car was stable and worked, my 5th and 6th were brand new, but weren't as stable even though they had more features they lacked some too, so since then I've gone back to the same as the 3rd (I have 3 of them, and in total have owned 6 - My name is Xaccers and I'm a Xantia-holic)
Thats not a fair comparison...

Believe it or not Some of us have tried the 3.14 Official ROM but with HSPL it displayed the Wrong amount of RAM etc, Seeing as we have Branded handsets we cannot flash from standard SPL, Apart from the fact there was no cleartype adjustment and you needed to reg fix etc, In other words, If it aint broke, Don't fix it.
Still waiting for 02UK here as well - I'm actually waiting for it so I can try Android without any HSPL nonsense since I will have a compatible radio with the 3.14 ROM.
I've asked 02 multiple times for an eta and they just say they have no information at this time

Radio Version

So guys I'm wondering, is there a way I can find out what radio I'm using while I'm using Android from NAND? I want to try WinMo with a NRG ROM but I'm not too sure what radio I have and I don't want to brick my phone. OR should I have a radio compatible because I'm already using MAGLDR and HSPL etc? Thanks.

Hi there Skellyyy.
To find out what Radio you have while you are running Andriod go to Settings and scroll down to Band frequency. It should have a number that looks like this "15.42.50.11U 2.15.50.14". Your numbers may not be the same as mine but the format will be the same. The 15.42.50.11U is my Protocol version, and the 2.15.50.14 is my Radio version. Now if you need a different Radio version with the ROM you want to flash then go to this thread. It is a very good place to learn about Radios and what they do, plus you can probably download the radio you need or want there. It has like all the radios there just about.
I see you are from Dublin, Ireland so maybe someone here on XDA can tell you what radio is reported as working best in this area if you do not have to have a spacific radio version for tbe ROM you want to flash.
I give credit to senior member samsamuel from who I learned this from but once you see a list of radios together it is kind of apparent. But if the radio has a 51 in it then it is a regular HD2 radio, but if it has a 50 in it then it is a TMOUSA radio. Example 2.xx.51.xx is a regular HD2 radio and 2.xx.50.xx is a TMOUSA radio.
Hope this helps you out.
Thanks for the reply and found it out on my own but thanks anyway. Yeah, I think you may be wrong about the radio .50 and .51 thong though. I have a 2.15.50.14 radio and I'm on a EU Leo. This'll work on WinMo ROM's will it?
May sound crazy, but I bought my HD2 like two months ago with Android already on NAND so I never used WinMo before and I'm just curious to see what its like on the HD2. What it should be like nativly.

The tmous radios will work on a EU leo, however the EU radios will kill a tmous phone....
If you have an EU handset then you need to flash a .50. radio to enable the extra memory trick required for flashing most custom roms. iirc.......
I use an energy rom and would highly reccomend them, however if your used to android and not WM6.5 then you may not be too impressed.
Go for a rom with CHT2.0 cooked in as this is must have, in my opinion for anybody using WM6.5.........

Thanks. What's CHT 2.0? I'm merely just going to try WinMo for maybe a day and see what all the complaints are about. Is the memory trick like using the Ext3 partition on an SD card for data or something?
So I should be fine flashing a WinMo ROM on my radio?
I was planning on trying an NRG ROM, one that was close to stock but with some improvements and tweaks and what-not. What other ROM's do you recommend?

Ive only ever used energy roms as Im not really a flash addict. I prefer to stick with one and tweak the hell out of it
CHT2.0 = Cookies Home Tab 2.0
Its an add-on for the HTC sense UI, its basically the way HTC should have made the sense interface. It allows you much more flexibility in how you can customise the home screens.
You can find it here.....
There are energy roms with it already cooked in, thats probably the one I would recommend.
Other popular roms are Dutty's Roms and Artemis Roms.
You'll find these in the 6.5 Rom development section, they're too close to stock for me though.
The thing about 6.5 is that it needs time and patience to get it set up how you want, once you acheive that no other OS compares as far as Im concerned.
re the radio memory trick;
Im not sure how it compares to the android partition thing as Im really not clued up on that but you dont need to do anything as long as you have the right radio and the rom has been cooked properly it'll be all good.

CHT 2.0 stands for Cookies Home Tab 2.0 it is a defferent manila home screen that really rocks. The CHT 2.0 makes the Windows Mobile home screen like the Andriod home screen by giving you pages left and right, but it unlike Andriod it gives you pages up and down too. If you are use to Andriod you will really like CHT 2.0.
The memory trick that conantroutman mention is where the ROM make the HD2 think it has the same amount of memory as a TMOUSA HD2 or atleast I think that is what he meant. The Euro HD and The TMOUSA HD2 have different ram and memory specs.
Yes the Euro HD2 can flash a TMOUSA radio but the TMOUSA HD2 can only flash TMOUSA radios, if it is not a TMOUSA radio and it is flashed to a TMOUSA HD2 it will brick the HD2. Your radio you have will work with Win Mo ROMs. If I was you though I would run a task 29 befor flashing the Win Mo ROM just so you will have a clean HD2 to flash the ROM to. Also I would mosf definitly advise you to flash a custom ROM cause if you try to flash the official ROM for your HD2 it will remove both HSPL and MAGLD from your HD2. You will want to keep both of these so hou can reflash a NAND Andriod ROM to your HD2 when you get tired of Win Mo or nust want to revert back to Andriod.
Thanks for all the info guys.
I'm downloading the Sencity NRG ROM now. One thing though, it has two versions, 28244 and 21916, does it matter which one I download or is one for the US Leo and one for the EU?
To sum it up quickly........
28244 = 6.5.x - start button in the bottom left of the screen and two big softkeys next to it - slightly newer build version but slightly more unstable.
Apparently more finger friendly.
21918 = 6.5 - start button in the top left on the taskbar. The official build which all stock roms are based on. In my opinion looks cleaner and more stable.
Both will work on either model. Check some screenshots to see the visual differences, I dont like the look of 28244 but its all down to personal taste.
28244 is newer & popular as far more finger friendly due to menu & close keys in in bottom bar.
These ROMs set up well far surpass android.
I'm on 21916 now. Feels like I have a new phone! Still need to get used to it.
How do I get my google contacts to sync to my phone?

I was about to tell you I dont think its possible...........
Then I found this....
Never done it myself but should work fine.
Activesync is the connection between the HD2 and the PC. If your on XP.
If your using Vista or Win7 you might need to dl Windows Mobile Device Centre to get a connection.
Enjoy your "new phone"

I would really recommend 28244 builds as they offer advanced features & more touch friendly UI.
Enjoy it, Android is quite dull & limited compared to an Energy ROM with a clued up user.
Sad to say... I had to go back to NAND Android. Gave WinMo a shot, but I just felt it's so outdated. Maybe because I've tried WP7 and Android before it. Just found it a bit too business-man like for me. Just overall, found it not as good as the up to date OS' out there atm. Oh well, maybe I'll try it again soon.
I'm shocked, Android is dull as mud & as flexible as glass.
You should of tried it a bit longer.

Put a MIUI ROM on there and you'll feel like a good smack in the face of android... to wake up and smell all that (eclair, froyo, gingerbread and honeycomb goodness).

HTC Titan custom ROM's

Why all the custom ROM's for HTC Titan I are Nokia ROM's? I understand the need for better apps from NOkia, but it's a little odd when you fire up panorama shot on HTC and wellcome screen says "Nokia"...
I'd like to see stock HTC ROM on my Titan...

Than - flash it, dude! Or are you waiting for permission?
Actually you're right - it's kinda perversion - these vows of love to Nokia from HTC rom-cooks.... Anyway - let them love whatever they want...
i like it
I am able to download and try out nokia "exclusive" apps first with my titan and take full advantage of nokia drive. I am eagerly waiting with anticipation for angry birds roost, my hacked titan along with the lumia 900s will be among the first to download it, yay!
HTC Custom ROM's
When I said "stock HTC ROM" I didn't mean STOCK but custom HTC, not Nokia ROM...
Anyway, who knows what I'm talking about will understand, and I completely don't care who loves Nokia or Samsung or iPhone... let people choose what they want... I just love having "stock" feel and look on my HTC... That's me...
Dynamics ROM hasn't been updated a while, and EBuron ROMS have cooked in colored taskbar which I don't like - that's why I ask what is the thing with Nokia ROMs, which are great by the way... Right now I'm on Deepshining 1.1, geting ready to flash 1.2. Anybody knows how to uninstall or remove battery percentage from taskbar? Again me... I want to have stock taskbar but it's cooked into ROM so I suppose it's impossible.

Try download and deploy SW named Digital Power...
Generaly, it is Digital Power cooked into ROM, but you can not uninstall it if it's cooked like that. I've tried and all I get is the same result - battery percentage in the battery icon. Digital power even can not apply default style without percentage.
