Just ignore that error and press ok, it should still root just fine after reboot Which f/w are you on ? If you're using B.1.54,you need to flash B.1.10 kernel first then root, and then flash back B.1.54 kernel
Reply here if you have more doubts

Im in b.154 so I need to flash back. Then I root my unit. Thanks in advice il try when I go home.

Are you trying to root on .10 or .54 firmware?
You need to flash .10 first, then you root with binary method. After that, you flash .54 and it should be rooted.
You get stuck while trying to do it on .10?

guys.. clam down!!!
1st Flash your MObile with .10 and
Root with binary and
it will something like in backup and restore
restore it
and your phone will restart
and done it will be rooted
and flash back .54

i am on .54 firmware, flashed .10, got the below attachment after binary, and flashed .54
when i open titanium backup it says root access failed? i want to remove bloatware and if the phone is still slow then i will flash a custom rom

It means the File is Damaged or Incorrect Root with this..
Extract the Rar file..
Flash .10 kernal
make sure you have both ticked on USB debugging and UNKNOWN market.
and double click RunMe.bat file..
and it will give some message about backup
Restore it and It will Restart..
You are done
And flash.54 kernal..

2- root the phone
3- install CWM
its easier...sorry not link to the right thread,it s already in the sticky.

How did you expect it to have root and recovery, AFTER you did a clean flash with flashtool?
Se phones doesn't have recovery partition. So no recovery on stock.

No,you cant access Root until you reinstall it again, use the method used for your Xperia S to reroot your phone.
Remember, each time you flash a new ROM,configuration files are reseted, including Root. (Unless the ROM you flash is already prerooted)

download the latest flashtool it has rooting
or unrar the attached file, flash back to any rom, run "step 1 rooted" flash with your new rom, and then root with "rooting kit" step 2.

I tried flashing official Sony Xperia sk17i 4.1.b.587 .ftf file. But I am getting error as FLASHING ABORTED and the device restarts. I am attaching the flasboot screenshot. Download ftf from here http://www.mediafire.com/?s166qsg8qaaxc43, place it into firmwares folder(delete all inside the folder before). Flash in flashtools, then flash the firmware that you want
Have you tried to repair it via PC Companion or SEUS?
Well I tried flashing more than 5 times via different ftf file, getting the same error.

Reinstall flashtool and try (don't forget to install flashtool drivers) if the problem still persists I would recommend installing flashtool and it's drivers to another computer and flash from it. It should definitely work.
Click thanks if I helped you!

Try this... Don't connect your mobile first... Choose ftf in flashtool... It will prepare files for flashing.. Then will ask to connect your mobile.. Plug your device in flashmode.. Should work..
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
Yes, do it like rachit.rc96 said, don't connect the mobile first :good:
If this doesn't work, check the box with "no final verification" when you select the firmware and try it again. But if you do this, be sure that this is the right ftf for your device

[Q]Help Me Can Not Boot Into CWM

Help me..
Can not reboot into CWM..
I just reflash my phone, and then root it with the way that I usually use..
But today when I try to root it, I mean on progress by using DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011 my computer reboot and after boot complete a prompt appears that said "Windows has just recovered from serious error" and give an option "send an error report" or "don't send"
After that, re-root it by using the same way and then install the CWM with install-cwm1.cmd(it also I usually use). It run normally, I think everything was OK.
But when I try to boot into CWM it get stuck on the "SONY" logo.
What is going wrong?
I have try to re-flash again, re-root and re-install the CWM still does not work
I think maybe there was a problem with the permission so I attached screenshot of the root and /system
*I have search before posting but can't find the answer

When you flashed the ROM, did you reset to factory settings and wipe away everything?
Doing so might have wiped the recovery too. There is nothing to worry about thou.
I am not sure whether you will be willing to do so, but I would suggest you unlock your boot loader and flash a kernel with built in recovery. A sample of that will be the FreeXperiaProject (FXP) CynogenMod (CM) 10 ROM's kernel. (search for "FXP 144 CM 10")
If you haven't flashed a kernel before, I can elaborate on the procedure or you can look it up on some other threads where it is already explained.

I flash it using SEUS, and I know it will wipe every mod on the system. I have do it several times.
I will explain the way that I usually did. Flash using SEUS -> Power off -> Flash kernel to MT11i 562(if I not wrong, i forget the number) using Flashtool -> Power on-> Root it using DooMLoRD rooting toolkit -> Power off -> Flash back to stock .587 kernel using flashtool -> Power on -> Install CWM by using the install-cwm1.cmd then reboot to recovery..
I get stuck on SONY logo just for now. I think it caused by the windows error that happened when I root it..
I also try X-parts but it does not affect anything. The LED does not show when boot, also nothing happened when I press any button during boot. Also it look like does not touch or add any file to the /system

disable your antivirus (if you have it)
try again

Fisrtly you have to root by flashing 652 kernel from flashtool.. Then you get root accessand now you can cwm recovery..
Sent from my MT11i
Yeah, of course you will need neov ics kernel to get root, then flash back original ics kernel. I've suffered a lot of problems with root and cwm, so:
-flashtool: be sure ho have max one firmware in "firmwares" folder at once, then be sure to check the right boxes on the right.
-rooting toolkit: disable internet connection, disable antivirus and firewall (maybe also "User control" in vista-7). Extract "runme.bat" and "files" folder directly into root directory in your PC (it is where you find "windows", "program files"...). So enlarge the explorer windows because it needs to be "on background sight", then open "runme.bat".
-cwm: use the android application "cwm-auto-installer" which is the previous version of "X-parts", you can find it in pureness 13 add-on page. There are many cwm installer which doesn't work, I don't know why.

Restart of the pc could be linked to driver faliure and the BSOD (the prompt) could be an hint about it.
For the cwm try to download that "cwm auto installer" from pureness page, but do not update the app. This is the only way that I have to install cwm.

Do you mean CWM Auto Installer now called X-parts? I also had try this, by using this it look like my /system partition not touched by it.. When reboot the LED does not show, also when on the SONY logo I press any key but nothing happens. It just boot like normally into system, does not get stuck nor get to the CWM.. Really nothing happened..
Btw will it have a problem with the hardware???
Ok, I remember one time when I wasn't able to install it at all. It was with JS 7.3, I had to give up and restore a fresh firmware (there were some other problems).
I don't think you have hardware problem, it seems that cwm can't be installed in your phone. So try to install ADB drivers again on PC, then flash new firmware, get root and retry.
Anyway there is a little possibility that cwm can't be installed because of low free space in /system partition...
Sent from my MT15i using xda app-developers app
Yes.. The main thing is adb drivers.. Uninstall it and reinstall.. Then everything should work.. Make sure you are on 652 kernel and rooted.. If you are rooted then xparts should work..
Try this flash alternet recovery from xparts and flash latest recovery..try it couple of times. Same problem I too faced earlier..do screen rotation off then install alternate recovery select 5.3 after flashing it says reboot to check.. And after it install latest recovery.. fingers cross..:sly:
