Hi everyone , I have a question are there any new drivers for aderno for x10i ? actually i have Wolfbreak Xperia DooMKernel and i Antutu benchmark shows score in 2D - 219 in 3D - 226 ;/ my old x8 shows better score, whats wrong? which have best performance?

Yeah , x8 is a little better in 2D ,3D tests because of lower LCD resolution comparing to x10
If you're on an ics rom you can install new qualcomm libs, it increased my 2d score two times higher & 3d score increased about 5 percent
Tip: update your antutu app cause whole scoring system has been changed

thanks i have the lastest version of antutu , but maybe i change rom

I have been musing over this for some time.
I have an XPERIA X10i using Standard GB 2.3.3, DooMKernel v6 (O/C 1113-1152MHz) and an XPERIA S feature pack.
With a heavily tweaked build.prop with hardware acceleration set. video.accelerate.hw=1 etc, etc.
My X10i GB 2.3.3 AnTuTu v3.0.3 gives:
2D Graphics: 236
3D Graphics: 469
NenaMark2: 8.4fps
Epic Citadel Benchmark: 11.2fps @854x480 on performance
Yes, it wouldn't really be playable on an XPERIA X10i but the benchmark does have it's uses given the graphics environment
and besides, it looks pretty while benchmarking even with the major lag/freezes... .
My X10i JB 4.1.2 AnTuTu v3.0.3 gives:
2D Graphics: 265
3D Graphics: 764
NenaMark2: 11fps
Epic Citadel Benchmark: ????
Now the Jelly Bean v4.1.2 Graphics figures imply a marked improvement and one would expect this to translate into improvements in video and gaming. However this is not the case for the video tests I have done, as I have not been able to enable HW acceleration using BSPlayer and/or MX Player Pro in the Jelly Bean build(s) I have tested.
Viewing a 720p mkv video in JB 4.1.2 on an XPERIA X10i lags terribly and only uses SW encoding.
If I understand this correctly, this means writing a new set of Adreno 200 GPU drivers (please correct me if I'm wrong)
This may be beyond the scope of developers based on time, effort and benefits/return when there are other/bigger fish to fry.
At the moment on GB 2.3.3, I can watch a 720p mkv 6ch (approx 25fps) movie streamed from my NAS with HW/HW+ acceleration without problems and only the VERY slightest lag every now and then... sometimes not at all.. Push that out to 1080i/1080p and it hangs or resets the video player or just doesn't play
So with the information and current knowledge I have, I seem to be restricted to GB 2.3.3 for GPU HW support and watching videos/TV at 720p.
If we could get HW acceleration working with JB 4.1.2 on an XPERIA X10i.. well, I'd go off like a frog in a sock
With 'ICS ROM' on an X10i, does that give us GPU HW acceleration with the Adreno 200????????
Or are we just falling back on SW encoding???
Update: I just found this bit of info which does imply there is HW acceleration available with the Adreno 200 ICS ROM ... somewhere.
Forums - QSD 8250, Adreno 200 hardware-related proprietary libraries for hardware graphics acceleration
There is also reference to JB 4.1 in the Adreno 2xx driver sections, so this does bode well for JB 4.1 development on the XPERIA X10i... one hopes.
Hardware coding/decoding doesn't work on ics ,job that's why video recording , or video playback is lagging or even not working.
Qualcomm should release the source codes for ics,jb . They didn't released it & I don't think they will release in future.
-3D & 2D works & is accelerated in ics ,thats the reason of higher benchmark results

Hi,
from the Streak's wiki page I know that we have a 1 GHZ cpu and a decent gpu in the Streak. The Iphone 4 also has a 1 GHZ cpu. Assuming that the Iphone's hardware is a little more upmarket than the Streak's I'm still completely confused why the Iphone (even the old 3GS) plays Epic Citadel ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvSckim3GzI ) at a high framerate whereas my Streak can't even play Dungeon Defenders (an Unreal 3 engine based game) at an acceptable framerate.
I am running froyo 2.2.2 and I'm getting 1200 points in the Quadrant test.
Comparing the Epic Citadel demo with the Streak stuttering at some older gameloft titles I wonder how much faster the Iphone really is ? Seems the Iphone has several times the power of a Streak or Nexus or Desire etc...
How come ?
Also: Is it normal that more demanding games like Dungeon Defenders have terrible performance on the Streak ?
Are you on a stock rom? which one
I'd prob be a bit faster on streakdroid + OC
You are talking about 2 different platforms.
I do not play games so cannot really answer you question but dont go with the quadrant numbers.
I'm on stock 2.2.2 but according to other peoples quadrant score custom roms aren't much faster.
I mean the epic citadel demo features almost next gen graphics wheras the Streak (and probably any non dualcore android phone) offers playstation 1 (maybe 2) like 3d performance.
Just wondering how the iphone achieves that. Especially as the citadel demo also runs on the old iphone 3gs which only has a 600mhz cpu.
I guess the citadel demo is somehow tweaked in the highest possible way. The android smartphones are not that optimized for specific applications because it's a more open platform.
powervrs tend to be a bit faster then adrenos
the iphone 3gs uses a SGX535 i believe?
the s5 uses an adreno 200
powervr chips have always been faster then adreno in 3d/gpu
streakdroid averages 1600 in quad and can go up to 2600 with perfmod (though the latter doesnt do as much as the former)
more importantly you can oc the cpu to 1.1ghz and possibly higher in the future, seeing as snapdragon is an SoC the gpu might be tied to the cpu's clockrate and ocing might improve it a bit.
If the whole thing is gpu bound it doesnt really matter how fast/slow the cpu is (unless it reverses back to being cpu bound)
if you want a more fair comparison try something like the galaxy s (1) it uses the sgx535 i believe
It could be a driver issue as the s5 isnt exactly the best in the case of drivers, you could also compare it to other snapdragon 8x50 chips like in the nexus 1 or htc desire

my streaks quadrant score is between 1900 and 2200 dependent on how it feels at the time
the custom roms are a lot faster then what dell has to offer
Stock roms are slower since they have a lot of hardware acceleration turned off, some can be reenabled by editing build.props and some require a custom kernel (like in streakdroid)
Half the real work on streakdroid is irking out every performence tweak that dj_steve and fards knows of, but not all of them are stable so they become optional (like perfmod)
After downloading dungeon defenders and poking around on title screen/opening lvl thing it seems acceptly fast if you turn down resolution,
i cant find how to turn on fps counter though
But isn't there a 60fps cap in the stock rom. So you can't really compare it to custom roms...
Fps cap doesnt matter if you're not even hitting it, I'm pretty sure even with res turned down it's still only running at mabye ~30 fps?
i9001 galaxy as never improved the GPU acting with egl adreno driver 205 and the family xperia right?
I shoot with the benckmark quadrant 2 points and slow down the acceleration yet in Neocore 62.2 FPS with the galaxy i9000 and nexus i9000 and I came up to 56, however, the test fluid was snapped I do not understand
thanks to the mod that you are working on this
the device is based on qualcomm 8255 chip just like HTC Sensation XL
but im wondering why with a same mkv video data, XL can play it with hardware acceleration or you can say hardware decode ,but not on Ray with the same player software, i used to try by bsplayer downloaded from the market
so im wondering if there are something missed on stock rom to make it work?
Ray have MSM8255. Which is Single-core CPU + Adreno 205. Sensation XL have MSM8255T, which is Dual-core CPU + Adreno 220.
Answer is: No, you cant play video with res. higher than 720p (and not even the .mkv ones.) Still, you can use players, like DICE with software acceleration enabled to watch those videos (1080p=laggin hell).
no, HTC sensation XL is also this chip running with 1.5Ghz with adreno 205
the video is 720p, i know this chip can only afford 720p decoding
the same result with HTC Flyer with 8255 adreno 205
What difference does it make?
Your device doesnt have 1280x720 screen resolution, It's got 854x480. So a 480p video is perfect for the device's screen...
Emmm, go to any device specific site, and lurk there abouut those platforms. Sensation: Dual core, Xperia 2011 : Single core

i think the problem isnt on the display resolution...
the problem it it cant event play the video data.. i should have transfered the media type to make it playable.. that isnt economic...

single core 8255 with adreno 205 certainly
maybe its different spec in different country.. but in Asia, its single core 8255...just like Ray and HTC Flyer...
There are 3 different Sensations... The normal one, the XL and the XE. The normal one and the XE have a MSM8260 dual core clocked at 1.2 and 1.5Ghz respectively. The XL is the only single core one. So yea you are wrong and right at the same time

I have experienced some pretty choppy graphics when playing NFS Most Wanted with my i9300. The game stutters from time to time and by the looks of it it seems rendered at 20-22 FPS (not terribly laggy, but it's not good below 24).
So I decided to port NFS Most Wanted from my GS3 to my GS1 (i9000), which was probably incompatible from the market because of the "old" hardware. To my surprise, the game was rendered at a steady 40+ FPS with only the occasional stutter when 3+ cops are after me and 5 cars are on display. This, on a 1.14 Ghz Exynos Single core processor with a PowerVR SGX 540 card running at 200 Mhz.
Can someone tell me what is the reason behind this? Is this a Mali (ARM) specific problem? A Mali 400 running at 533 Mhz with the Exynos Quad should be able to smoke the SGX 540 running at 200 Mhz. Yes the SGX is powering a WVGA display I know, but with over twice the clock rate I don't see why the Mali should perform worse!
Experienced the same. I thought it was just a laggy game but I tried it on an Xperia Ion and was suprised that it turned out smoother than the SIII
works fine here. stock unrooted atm. i'm guessing over 40fps.

Ion has the Adreno 220 if i recall correctly? It should be more or less equal to Mali, but a Mali at that clock rate should be faster. Both the Ion and Sgs3 render 720p displays so its a fair fight there.

I assume you are sticking with the stock clock rates as well (1.4 GHz CPU, 440 MHz GPU)? Are you on 4.1.2 or 4.1.1? I have tries both ELL5 4.1.2 and CM10.1 and they both produce similar results, but CM was slightly worse.

hey everybody,
I'm a bit of a noob and i got a few questions...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192867
there are screenshots in that thread that show that our X10 can get +- 50fps. But i never got that much .
I'm now on feralab V23 and with antutu i get scores of 2000 and a maximum of 19/20 fps.
I made screenshots from Antutu and Quadrant.
A friend of mine has a samsung galaxy gio. which has the same gpu the "Adreno 200".
but his scores whith Antutu are over 4000 and mine are 2000.
So my question is , HOW is this possible why do whe have a cap on our fps?
maybe the i can finally have peace whith it.
thanks!!!!!
I get 54FPS on 2D graphics on GB 2.3.3 with DoomKernel v6
I can play a 720p .mkv (H264,AC3) video using BSPlayer or MX Player Pro with HW acceleration without any real noticeable lag (GB 2.3.3)
I can get an Antutu score of 4550 on CM10(JB 4.1.2) for XPERIA X10i, but this comes without 2D Adreno graphics HW acceleration and thus the 2D FPS are reduced to 43FPS and 720p videos are not really watchable.
If 2D hardware drivers are ever made available for the Adreno 200 on higher Android versions of the OS on the XPERIA X10i then we're really onto a winner.
FeraLab V22 and V23 only returns a high score using AnTuTu 3.0.3
Benchmarks for GB 2.3.3 and DoomKernel V6
ow wow!
really?... so i'm doing some terribly wrong then :silly:
well thanks for the reply!!!
