Here's a copy of the letter I sent to Asus...
I have been using Asus products since my first socket A board and have been a partner since 2008. I have always had faith and trust in Asus products and recommend them to all my friends and customers. My own system contains £1000 worth of Asus parts (Z77 Sabertooth, Xonar DX2, 2 x GTX 580, DVD-RW) and I use Asus motherboards for ALL my customer builds.
However I feel badly let down with the TF201 I purchased on 27/01/12 ) My TF201 has been very unreliable, constant crashes and reboots as well as the seemingly usual light bleed/ GPS problems. I have lived with it, hoping that it was purely a firmware issue that would get resolved. (I ignored all the bad comments in forums, believing that Asus would NOT ship faulty products) There have been times where my TF201 has been stable for short periods. The last couple of weeks it has got worse, with terrible battery drain, loss of wifi (I can only turn on wifi after a reboot). Last night the device would not stay on the home screen for more than a few seconds without rebooting on its own, then finally it got stuck on the Asus logo. I have had to factory reset it 3 times now, and this is the last straw.
Because of my patience with the device and my faith in Asus, I have now had the device too long to try and get a refund, and feel I am now £500 out of pocket. I would really like to know how Asus are going to restore my faith.

I was advised to RMA it, which I did and I received it back on Monday. The Report simply says...

I was doubtful if this would have fixed anything and was proved correct in the first hour of use. The system rebooted once on it's own, while just sat on the side asleep, within 30 secs of that crash it rebooted again this time getting stuck on the Asus logo.
The next day I tried it again and it booted into Android, but couldn't play anything through the BBC iPlayer without it force closing the browser.( A simple task which my Galaxy Note handles without issues)
I am wondering where to go from here, I have sent an email back to Asus but as of this moment have not had a reply. I think at this stage I would just simply like a new unit as I have no faith in the current one.
Anyone else have similar problems?
Regards,
Les
I truly feel for you. I have also had a bad experience. Mine was replaced three times when I first purchased in January 2012. I thought I had finally obtained one that was faultless but after a few months the connector basically fell apart through no fault of my own. I treat it like a new born baby. I even discovered that many people had the same issue and had it repaired under warranty. I RMAd it and the told me it was my fault and I had to pay £150. Anyway, after numerous phone calls and emails they agreed to repair. That took two months!
I actually wrote a long letter of complaint about the quality of the product and that it seemed the design and quality of components were not fit for purpose. I also pointed out all of the reported and inherent problems that others have experienced along with articles and forum threads as proof. My aim was to attempt to have them replace it with an infinity, which clearly has all of the prime issues resolved and clearly points to ASUS knowing the Prime had the faults I had highlighted.
Their response was that as a manufacturer under EU law they have no responsibility to replace a product an end user deems to be unfit for purpose and that they simply supply resellers with a product and therefore the end user is technically not their customer. Their responsibility is to simply repair a device with manufacturer faults for a minimum of a year in the UK.
So, reading between the lines they were saying that although I was right in what I was saying they weren't going to do anything about it because they aren't obligated to do so. Ethics doesn't come in to it.
Since then I received my Prime back from RMA and discovered it had grit under the glass and so back it went. On receiving it back again they had replaced the LCD and digitizer but this time they had bent the body, dented the seal around the glass with opening tools and the screen was actually popping out of the frame because of the damage to the body. So, I have been sending emails to them for six weeks to try to get it sorted out and finally they sent me another RMA pickup wistron and collected it yesterday. They didn't comment on my problem or apologise. Nothing.
The reason I'm going in to such detail here is to show what kind of customer service they operate. They refused to replace my Prime with an Infinity yet, I estimate, that they could probably have given me two for the money they have so far spent flogging the dead horse that is my TF201.
£45 each way on shipping times six.
£250 for a new screen.
They replaced the WiFi and gps boards.
The charge port.
Now the back casing and probably another screen due to the damage they made to the new one.
We're already up to about £900 and that doesn't include the time their staff have spent on the phone to me, responding to my emails and their legal department penning letters to me.
If a company is so hell bent on not giving a customer what they want in order to convert dissatisfaction to satisfaction that they will happily spend obscene amounts of money to deny them that, then there is little hope for anyone.
Phew. Bit of a rant there but I mean very word.

Just got a response and it was pretty much what I expected...
Thank you for contacting Asus Technical Support.
Our apologies that the repair has not resolved your issue. The repair centre was not able to replicate your stability problems, because the are intermittent. I can only recommend to apply for another rma for the unit. When filling in the rma form, please refer to the previous RMA and the fact that it did not resolve the issue.
If you have any further question, please don't hesitate to contact Asus Technical Support.
Kind regards,

Why was that not mentioned in the repair report? Why did no one contact me to ask what I was doing when it crashed? Why did they change the 40pin connector? Why did I ignore the bad reports and buy the &*%@$+£ thing in the first place?
Les
Still waiting for an update on mine. It just says "Received".
It wouldn't surprise me if the repair centre sits on it. I'm sure they're fed up with my complaints.
Of course, if they did a proper job I wouldn't have to complain.

I have green camera problem. I've probably had it for months but don't use it very often.
I pre ordered mine in the UK and got it 5th Jan 2012. Asus are now saying it is out of warranty. We got an extension to the warranty in the uk. Im not happy at the moment. I too was a big Asus fan and still am really.
Asus should fix a know manufacturers fault.
Does anyone know of an email address to complain to?

I received mine back from RMA in December. It had a green camera problem at first(which i was going to live with) and then the display was just black. They fixed it quickly and it was returned to me. The camera and display were fixed, but then I noticed it would freeze and reboot intermittently. An update came out while it was in RMA, but the tablet says not update found. I manually updated, but still froze and reboot often. I tried unlocking thinking a different rom would help, but the tablet cannot be unlocked. Called yesterday and am sending it off for RMA again. Hope I have better results this time.

Asus just updated the RMA page to "Product repair is in progress.-[WF9] Wait for Customer Confirmation-No Trouble Found" So im sure they will send it back and I will still have the same problem...sigh.....I called and gave them more information, but I am not confident that it will help.
Just got my prime back from RMA, looks like this time they have replaced the mainboard. So far it seems ok, but I've only been playing for an hour or so. Time will tell.

Just wanted to update the resolution to my problem. After the receiving my tablet back, it still rebooted and froze constantly.(no surprise), so I called and got an RMA number again. Sent it in, and a week AFTER they received it, I got an email saying they were going to replace it since it was the third RMA for the same problem, and I would get an email when it shipped. A week and a half later I finally got the email and it was on its way from California.( I sent mine to Texas). I received the tablet last week and have used it several hours with NO reboots! Its working perfectly! I have not tried to unlock it yet because the only reason I tried to unlock the other ones was because of the rebooting and freezing. Although I suspect since its from RMA it wont unlock. So to anyone that has issues with their prime, keep sending it back and eventually they will replace it.

I have the RMA number, but I'm in doubt to send it to Grapevine because I'll be in NYC only for 15 days. If they takes more than 15 days, I'll lose it.
I think, they should have some service center in New York.
What would you recommend to do?

You dont live in the US? If not, I am not sure what you should do. The first time I sent it in it only took a week to get it back to me.(I live 15 minutes from Grapevine Tx). But the next 2 times it took 3 weeks.
Sorry I know this probably doesnt help you..

Just received my 16gb Galaxy Tab 10.1 from Amazon, really disappointed on it due to constant crash, freeze, lag...etc
ok.. open the package, boot it up, straight feeling sluggish between screen and apps already, then play around with it, install few apps, but it randomly close the apps or just froze without any reason and i have to hard power switch off to reboot.
Thinking it might incompatible apps, but apparently not.. it randomly freeze when open "setting", "google maps", "Quick Office HD"...
I done wipe/factory reset but still the same...
So.. guys think it is hardware related or software related? will restore 3.1 fix this issue? If possible, where do i get the vanila stock 3.1 honeycomb firmware and will it void warranty if i install it via say.. Odin?
I'm in Australia, so sending it back to US for warranty will be quite a pain... any help will be appreciated~
Thanks
by freeze do you mean the touch screen is unresponsive? the same thing started happening to mine today. i called amazon and am getting a replacement for free just call them they will send one out before you ship the one you have. I called today and am getting mine tomorrow but im worried because this is the second tab i had to get replaced.
I am waiting for my SGT from amazon to arrive now
hope it would be good unit
I am from Iraq it is so much difficult to return it to US

This happens to me as well with my SGT. I notice the keyboard will "stop responding" while typing over GTalk or something. Also the navigation keys will become unresponsive while browsing. A lock/unlock of the device seems to fix it.
A friend of mine was researching this, and on other forums people are complaining of the same thing, and apparently it's a part software, part hardware issue. I guess the sensors in the device loose track of where your tapping on the screen. I'm to try a factory reset and see what happens.

I'm sure you could find it in the development section, not sure if it will void the warranty though. I'm tempted to try this as well if the factory reset will not work.
Strange. I received my 32GB from Amazon on Monday and haven't had any issues at all. Sounds like you got a lemon.
Well, fwiw, I had a GT 10.1 and returned it for 2 reasons:
1) Screen has a dancing/moving part of the panel (towards the middle), where even when OFF, the LCD panel would reflect light in various sheens -- kind of like a think layer of oil on top of water. Slightly depressing the panel would get it to shift and move, and sometimes disappear; only to reappear.
2) Copied 350+MB of .jpegs onto the device, and it took 5.5 hours (yes, hours), to copy the data.
So, I returned the unit. In all fairness, I've got a friend who has a xoom, and had him try copying the data, and got the same results... so #2 is probably a Honeycomb bug, but #1 is definitely a GT defect. I'm now awaiting a Toshiba Thrive

You can try this post in the development section. I've only had my Tab for a few days so I haven't had time to tinker with it much. I'm going to try returning mine first for a replacement. If that doesn't do the trick I may try a reload from the link here:

I bought the 16gb white version at Best Buy union square on June 12th, and returned it for the same 1) problem on the screen. The second one seemed to be ok, until the second day of use I saw the "oil" mark appearing and moving depending on where I holded/pressed the tab on the back.
But know I have to say the problem doesn't exist anymore. I think it is because of the packaging and the fact the tab stayed a lot of time in the same position before it arrives to your hands. I recommend use it for a week and see if the problem persists.
or they manufactured them in china...
people also report dust in their tabs, which is pretty much proof of cheap manufacturing.
I haven't had any issues.
Anybody figured out a real solution? It looks like a reccuring problem through forums. I got mine from Amazon forwaded to Qatar and basically it is unusable. Starts once every10 attempts...freezes after 10-30 seconds.
i have two and i have no issues with either one.
the first one i got was locked - the second is unlocked
i see no performance difference between the two
and both were purchased from amazon.
I bought mine in bestbuy and I still w/o problems... It was locked but nothing to worry using odin to 3.01>root>custom rom... it seem that ther is some galaxy tab 10.1 lemon editions
This weekend I upgraded to the Photon 4G for $99 at Best Buy (gotta love Labour day weekend offers).
I'm moving from an HTC Evo 4G. The first problem is the worst. Since picking up the Photon 4G I have had to pull the battery 5 times as the phone refuses to wake... With the HTC if I had an issue I could reboot by holding down the power and volume button, but the Photon doesn't seem to have this feature, so I'm forced to remove the back cover and pull the battery...
I don't seem to be able to re-create the issue. Its just happens without notice... Anyone else having this issue? Is their an easier way to coax the phone back to life rather than pulling the battery?
The second issue is the screen. Every single review I have read has said that the screen is a Photon 4G strong point... I'm not convinced... Yes it is bright and vivid, but I seem to have an annoying grey criss cross pattern all over the screen. I'm not sure if its my eye's (the GF says she can see it too) but I was expecting the screen to look better than both my EVO and Xoom... This annoying grey criss cross gauze (especially visible on white backgrounds) is disappointing..
What do others think? Colour gradients also appear to band very easily, rather than being smooth.. I'm not sure if this is a result of compression in pictures tho...
Other than that, I am happy with the phone. Big improvement over the EVO 4G i had befor, just a screen I have to get used too, and this un-responsive issue to fix...
Oh, and having to get used to Motorola's Android button layout and Standard Android icon changes is a little painful at times...
Swap out for new one for wake problem. Turn brightness down to 30 percent and screen is fine. Had all top HTC phones and this beats all.....keep this phone....
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
I get that sometimes, but fail to replicate at the store. Store employees will only recommend to wipe the phone.
The pentiles pixelation is only noticeable when your face is extremely close to screen. Its a cell phone not a tv display lol, stop holding it so close and you'll be fine! Im on my first phone with no issues yet; just to be on the safe side i would swap for a new device.

Actually, the sale has been going on for close to 3 weeks now. Sorry you are having issues, have you tried a factory reset then not install any apps (or not many) for a couple days to see if it was one of them?
An opinion......
I try to avoid the Sprint stores as much as possible. There are some knowledgeable reps out there but it is a small percentage. Most of them don't know much about the devices. Call the Sprint support number first and try troubleshooting with them. In my experience, they are better at going the distance to make the customer happy than the peeps in the stores especially if you keep on them about it.
Sounds like a swap out is needed. Good luck.
Go back to BB and try to swap it out for another one. Had my photon for about 3 weeks now and never had this issue
I have to agree it sounds like a hardware issue and merits a swap. I've had the photon 2 1/2 weeks and have only had to pull the battery once.
Mine has been freezing and needing a battery pull every day. I went through Sprint VIA phone and they sent me to the store. The Technician actually researched it and it is a know software issue that will be fixed when the next OTA software update is released. I went from the silent call issues to my phone turning off/freezing and I don't even know that its not working. Not happy at all right now
I've just got back from Best buy after my phone refused to wake up again for the second time today.... I let them try and get it turned back on again which they couldn't do without pulling the battery... Either way they immediately confirmed they'd swap it out. Until she went to pull one and realised they are all out
My replacement arrives Friday when they get restocked.... Best Buy must have sold loads since Friday because their shelf was piled pretty high when i picked mine up...
So hopefully the new one will work properly, or maybe I'm just plagued until the next OTA...
As to everyone who gave me suggestions about the screen... you were right. Turning down the screen brightness pretty much solved the issue all together and I think I am officially used to it now...
Just wish i could get my EVO 3D ringtone , Alarm and notifications on the Motorola. I grew more attached to them, than I thought

OK, I did not think that it could be my SD card causing the issues with the phone freezing up and needing a battery pull to get it back on but the Technician asked me if it was a new card or from another phone. I said It was from two or three phones ago. They said that I should format the card because the files from the older phones can cause problems such as this, after copying my photos over to the computer to be able to put back on the card afterwards of course. They had left my SD card out of the phone. So to test things, I haven't put my SD card back in since two days ago. My phone has not restarted or frozen up once. I will give it some more time and report back, but in the mean time, until there is an OTA fix, if you are using an SD card from another (previous) phone, and your having the freezing/power down/restart issues, you may want to give formatting your SD card or removing it to test if it fixes the problem a shot. Good luck, so far so good.
I've not used an SD card at all since purchasing my Photon. On the Plus side, it has not stopped working at all so far today
Had the same problem when I bought my 2nd photon this time at best buy becuase of the $99 deal.
On the 1st one i got directly from a sprint corp store, no issues at all. But this one on the 1st day I got a reboot issue. second day got the SOD. went in they had some trouble getting it on. Had to tell them to take the batt out and it went on. My problem was that they had none available. so for 3 days I waited.
Funny thig is that I wasn't getting the SOD again. Just didn't want to chance it so got another one, yesterday. Happy today.
There were no motorola photon availble in my area. So they are selling.
Good luck with yours.
OK it's not the sd card causing the issues. It's back to freezing up 1-9 times per day and then I need to do a battery pull and restart the phone. Motorola wants the phone back to repair it. This should be a great Two weeks and if the phone is not fixed, I will lose it........ For sure

Ok, if this information is correct from Sprint, I know why I am having all these problems with mine freezing up and after having done several hard resets and many calls to Sprint and a visit to the service center with no fix. Apparently there was a batch of Photons that got shipped with corrupt firmware. When the phone uses that portion of the firmware, as a safe mode, it freezes. There is no fix other than replacement with a non effected phone. They ordered me a new one, that I will get on Tuesday. The only way they can correct it until there is an OTA patch is to send it back to Motorola. Wish me luck with this one
Update....
So here is the update....
5 Days of Ownership - A total of 9 shutdowns of the phone with the only way to get it turned back on again was by pulling the battery. On the 9th time, I went directly to Best Buy to show them. They agreed without question to replace it. Unfortunately they had sold out so I had to wait 2 more days for the next shipment. Gotta say Best Buy were excellent tho. I had 1 further shutdown before getting my brand new replacement.
3 Days of brand new replacement Photon 4G ownership - I am disappointed to say that I have had 1 shutdown so far and this was on the second day. Not sure if I want to Jinx myself but the shutdown rate is lower in the first 3 days than it was with my original.
But it's looking more and more like it's a bug in software than hardware. Either that or I get the DUD from two completely separate batches of phones.

Well, I got my brand new replacement yesterday at the Milton Massachusetts Sprint Repair Center and as of yet no shut-down, or freeze-ups. I have my fingers crossed here on this one. If not I will be reprogramming another new one soon. They did assure me that this is not affecting every Photon, but there was a large batch released with this corrupt firmware. Its like a waiting game to see if its a dud or not. I do love this phone, and I am getting tired of setting up these phones over and over again, but on a good note, I can completely customize my phone and all my apps in about thirty minutes from activation
Hi all,
I'm returning my Asus prime tf201 to manufacturer, or at least i'll try to.
It's unlocked rooted and upgraded to Jelly bean and it is now running HairyBean.
Quite simply my 1st question is can i return it as is?
My second question is will it matter if i was not the original buyer? I have no receipt to speak of.
However i do believe that it is less than a year old.
I have the green camera issue which is a pain in the backside, i have a funny feeling that the tablets mobo and or cpu is failing as there are times that it lags and freezes and has a problem waking up, i have been unable to get a benchmark of 5000 or more which is wrong, (and i know that benchmarks don't mean much but it should perform better than that)
The wifi also isn't great, at times tells me that it's downloading something even when clearly it isn't.
Any help with any of these things would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
By returning I assume that you mean you are RMA'ing it?. If so I believe that you can send it as is, but you will have to pay for any fixes because when you unlocked it you voided the warranty. Good luck with the RMA, I hope it goes well for you.

I just got my Prime back having had a replacement camera (green screen problem). I had unlocked the Prime some time ago, and there was no problem with the RMA process. They picked it up on 15th Feb in the UK, and I got it back on the 21st (was sent to Czech Republic for repair). Picked up by DHL, returned by DHL, even took the option to delay return delivery as I was out on the 20th!
As for your other problems, they might have issue with the software changes. When they have to diagnose a problem beyond an obvious hardware issue, software could well be considered an issue for them - I would recommend installing the latest official firmware before sending it back otherwise they could simply blame unknown software.

Thanks, I think I may go ahead and do it, did you receive your prime still unlocked or was it reset? Thanks by the way, oh and did you have to provide proof of purchase as I have no receipt. Cheers

I have been very happy with my Nexus 9. I bought it at Best Buy the first day it came out. I just returned from a holiday trip, and I kept thinking what a great
traveling device I had, so compact, yet so nice to use, so much better than the laptop I used to carry. I liked the screen, the aspect ratio, the performance.
Well, as soon as I returned, I was surfing Firefox and the screen went all crazy with an abstract pattern and I could only reboot with the power button.
Since then, this has started to happen repeatedly when my battery level drops below about 40%. The screen is white or white with some sort of geometric pattern
and the device is completely frozen. This morning I rebooted, played with it a few more minutes and it happened again.
I have found a few mentions of similar problems online and none of them were fixed by a software reset. Of course, I will do that, but I'm convinced this is not going to help.
So I've had my tablet for a few months beyond the year warranty. And I paid full original price. And I can live with it and keep the battery above 40%, assuming things don't
degrade, but of course, they usually do. Or I can try to work with HTC to pay for an expensive repair (motherboard replacement was said to work). Or I can write it off
and replace it.
I like Android. I am thinking the Pixel C would even be a step up. But I have some big concerns. My first Nexus 7 (2012) failed after warranty was up. Now my Nexus 9 is failing
very soon after warranty is up. I really hate the Apple way of doing things, but I do know that if I get an iPad, I won't have any problems getting it fixed, plus I think it would
be much more mature than a new Google tablet that has sold to a handful of Android enthusiasts.
So I'm just disappointed. With 20/20 hindsight, I should have gotten Best Buy's extended warranty, but that's life. Anyway, I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thank you.
Monday update: For those who may be interested. I contacted HTC customer service and they told me that my warranty expires in 5 days. So I am sending it back under warranty.
As I tried to back up data prior to wiping it clean, I discovered that the Nexus 9 mounts on my Windows 7 computer as it always did, but there is no longer a file system that shows up. I had to back up my data over wifi
using FTP. So this is a very clear and repeatable problem, which means the HTC people will not have to try to reproduce an intermittent freeze up.
Anyway, it will go back tomorrow and I hope for the best.
Hey,
I have the same issue with my tablet, was it fixed?

There is an extra step involved from Marshmallow deices to see the filesystem: - http://www.androidcentral.com/inside-marshmallow-usb-connection-options
Thanks corkiejp I did figure this out. I was so stressed backing up all my files before sending it back I sort of freaked out when the file system was gone. But yes, it is just another step to get it back.
In response to "was it fixed?" I am not yet sure. I called HTC and they called it a software problem and reinstalled the OS. I told the guy I was sure this would not fix it (based primarily on other peoples' reports online) and he "noted" my irritation, but that was the extent of their fix.
So I got all my apps installed from the image (very convenient) which took a few hours, then it gave me 3 system updates and now I'm back to where I started. I have let it run down to 25% battery a few times
and there has been no failure so far.
I do have a gut feeling that this was actually not a software problem and it will show up again. At least I will be able to push for warranty service if that happens.
I sure do love this tablet. I was using my 2013 Nexus 7 while it was gone. I was crazy about the Nexus 7 as my first tablet in 2012, but the Nexus 9 makes it seem quite antiquated and the bigger screen is much better for everything I use it for. If the Nexus 9 does fail again, I'll send it back, but I was quite serious about trying an ipad. I will need to jailbreak it to get it anywhere near a product I can use, but that seems to be a breeze. But anyway, Nexus 9 is working great at the moment.
Latest update. So for about 3 weeks I used my Nexus 9 and charged it whenever it got down below about 30% battery and no problems. So I thought OK maybe this was a software problem after all and it was fixed.
However, yesterday, it froze on white screen at 39% battery. Clearly this is not fixed. I will wait until I see this happen once or twice more, then contact HTC and tell them I need to claim warranty service even though I am
now out of warranty, since their first fix under warranty did not work. Then I will see if they will fix it under warranty and most importantly, whether or not they just reinstall software again and call it fixed.

This happened to my first N9 after 4 months. They k ow it's not a software problem. It's ridiculous that they present they've never seen this issue everytime someone reports it. I demanded replacement for mine. I tried flashing a factory image myself before that and it changed nothing.
You are not alone - my N9 fails below battery 60% https://youtu.be/-ISHFFZVJVw and http://goo.gl/1i50x4
My V10 went into a bootloop back in November and I was fortunate enough to get it replaced days before the 1 warranty expired. Yesterday, my wife's V10 also suffered the same failure. Unfortunately, no insurance and Verizon still insists that they don't know anything about the hardware fault that's causing these phones to bootloop. I can cough up my failure to just bad luck, but both phones failing for the same thing has nothing to do with luck.
If anyone knows of a class action suit being filed against LG, I would be interested in signing up.
Last LG product I'll ever purchase.
lawsuit
I'd be surprised if there wasn't one. The same thing happened to my G4.
I'm pretty sure there is one...Google it
I've seen the articles of an active lawsuit against them, but there's no information on how to join. Usually, the attorneys will get companies to release the information of customers who may have been affected so that they can be contacted to join or opt out. Either way, I will send them an email and see if I get a response..
My phone just got the bootloop yesterday and I was able to get Verizon to agree to send a replacement for me even though I am well out of warranty. The person I spoke with on chat said she researched it and said it was a known issue so they could cover it. So my replacement phone comes tomorrow. Now I am just trying to get it to boot long enough for me to back up whatever I can.

You faired far better than me. They told me they didn't know anything about the issue (however they knew about it back in November when my phone died a few days before it's one year anniversary) when I called about my wife's phone suffering the same fate.
I did call LG and they are definitely aware of the issue as they extended the warranty of the phone by an additional 6 months.
Verizon should still address this issue with its customers rather than brush it off as just another defective device out if warranty.
I think there is one right now.. Not sure how to find it.. I notice most of the people experiencing bootloop ignored fixing the overheating, which almost all of them do out the box.. Mine did and I stopped the overheating right away simply by enabling developer option and turning off all window animations.. Don't know what that is but since them my v10 stays cold to the touch for basic daily use.. Even when watching videos.. I haven't tried gaming but I plan to.. You might want to do it to the one you just fixed.. By default it's on " x1."

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. My wife isn't a very heavy user, so don't know how the phone overheated that much to cause the hardware issue.
Received notification that LG repaired the phone by replacing the main board. They determined the fault to be "phone not charging". What a crock of ****. That was not even a problem.
Meanwhile, I'm 2 days in still waiting for a response to my email from the firm that is already suing them.

I bought my V10 day 1 (10/30/'15) and it bootlooped like a week ago. Sent it in and just got the email saying it wasn't charging through the port. Right... 20 months in and they're still replacing boards "under warranty" though so I'm not mad lol

Nice to know it wasn't just me they used that excuse with, guess they don't want the real reason of shoddy hardware being a liability in court.
My V10 replacement from Nov 2016 now exhibits WiFi disconnection issues. Wife's V10 has no such problems. Hopefully I can get to November before the phone totally faults out again.
I was looking forward to the Pixel 2 but I heard it's going to be a LG manufactured phone. Ugh, that's sad news as I won't even consider it.
Agreed, I definitely won't be one of the early buyers for a pixel 2. Bought a Note 4 off ebay, gonna roll with that and my newly repaired V10 as a backup until one of these manufacturers makes a modern phone with all the features I want. V20 would've been it but I'm not about to have one of those bootloop on me as well.. See what the V30 brings I guess
Just a little update from getting my main board replaced. Got it back yesterday after missing FedEx the day before and the sim no longer worked, but they left my glass screen protector on which I wasn't expecting. It had been updated from 25A (I was holding out for mm root..) to 28A. Everything seems to work but it is no longer going to be my dd. If something happens to my note I'll activate it but it's on zerolemon-mp3 player duty for now. Still love the idea of the V10...
Thanks for the update. They had removed the screen protector on my phone when I got it back. But so far phone is running ok. It did shut down on its own from getting too hot a couple of days ago. I was taking pictures and leaving the photo camera on when it did it.
