Hello and Happy New Year to all members and guests in this great community.
I droped my phone very hard on the floor and i smashed the digitizer and the screen destroyed too (actually from the screen was broken the flex cable on the base of the screen).
Now of course it wouldn't turn the screen on and makes no buzz sound when i press the power button.
When i connect it to my pc through the USB cable it does nothing (i pulled out my sd card, can this be a reason?).
My question is, if i replace the screen and the digitizer it will work? or the fact that it does not connect to my pc might hide other hardware issues?
From a closer look i didn't see any cracks on the plack's surface.
Any help would be acceptable and appreciated.
Thanks

C'mon guys (and girls too of course)
I don't believe that in the bigest community of mobile technology can't anyone help me!!!
If the phone is ok, despite the cracked screen and digitizer, will it work if i connect it to my pc or not?
Thanks on any answer.
if your phone wont connect to PC or vibrate on startup, Im sorry to say that but your motherboard is damaged and replacing by new one is expensive! bad luck budy! this was my bad luck few months ago

So I cracked my LCD screen, bought a replacement, opened up the phone w/ little incident (man they really do cram a lot in there!) and I powered it on.....
the screen is just white, if I fiddle with the connection at where the LCD connects into what I believe is the digitizer I can kind of see a keypad button layout.
What do these symptoms describe and does anyone have a link to the service manual?
Thanks in advance for your time.
I had to replace the LCD on a wizard so here my experience... Make sure the two data ribbons are inserted securely. Also, before you power on, plug your hermes into your computer (assuming your computer is on and logged in as an admin) via USB (this sounds weird but I had to do this for some reason....) and then turn on the wizard.
If you still have a problem, you may have damaged something more than the screen.
Good luck.
Ok I will give plugging it in a shot.
Before you plugged it in what did it do when you powered it on?
anyone else have any input on what the issue could be?
It could be wrong LCD. There are two types of LCD for hermes/wizard with same connector but they are different. One is with gold flex cable, the other is with black flex cable. First one is most popular on wizards, the other on hermes. Check what was the color of your previous lcd flex cable and the new one.
Instructions
Can anyone post the instructions on how to take the lcd apart ?
I have gotten this far

I'm a bit afraid to go on without instructions
Here is the lcd I got

hi
i have a htc touch plus or as they call it htc touch dual.digitizer issue it stoped responding so i bought new one fitted in and still the same problem .i think is a software problem i guess driver software for touch screen .if any one can help please
thanks
Touch Dual digitizer
Hi Saliml2
Not convinced it is a software issue. My digitizer on T-Mobile Touch Plus did the same thing. It stated behaving erratically and then stopped responding altogether. I replaced the digitizer (via eBay) and it work for a few days and then stopped again.
I have read around the internet and have tried several ROM updates etc (currently running a WM 6.5.5 found in other area of this forum) but this has not solved the problem.
It seem to be an alignment issue - i.e. screen alignment is outside the screen area, but there seems to be no way of getting it back. Could be a fault on the phone mainboard (?) but there doesn't seem to be any info around apart from sending it to HTC for repair (not viable as the phone value negates this)
My phone is still not working, I might try opening it up again and reseating the digitizer cable but have done this twice already.
Have you try change the flex cable?
I had one to, with the same problem, and after changing the flex everything was ok...
Good luck!
Hi Amokh Just to clarify, what is the flex cable? The digitizer has a cable already attached to it that plugs in to a zif connector on the mainboard - I assume that this controls the data flow for the digitizer.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there
So I changed my Xperia Neo's panel as carefuly as I could
I turned it on but the touch screen doesn't seem to be working although the ligh sensor is functioning properly and all the buttons but when I press the screen it doesn't register the touch could I have broken something or might this be some other reparable problem? :crying:
Thank you for your time.
I found the problem - I've cutted the cable of the digitizer :/
I would like to advice unexpirienced people like me to be very careful when replacing parts of their phones, watch for the tiny cables

ya..dear have to be a very careful...with the hardware section....its too delicate ...:laugh::laugh:
Okay so I made (tried to make) a USB OTG cable by taking the metal off the outside of the USB connector, then cutting and reconnecting the cable with red on black and green on white so it would be the same polarity as a female USB. i plugged a flash drive up and nothing happened.
Here is where my retarded moment comes in: I HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER WITH THE POLARITY REVERSED!!!!
Now it wont even boot up. :crying:
I have a HTC One (AT&T).
PLEASE HELP!!!
I also don't want to send it back because this will be the third phone in 3 months (1st: xperia tl soft bricked returned 2nd: xperia tl hard bricked returned 3rd: i hope it will still work, but i need your help). . i will take ANYTHING except for taking it apart (that's why there is geek squad but that costs money and I'm broke).
if i need to go into more detail i will but please tell me or else i wont know.
wires:
red----------black
white----------green
black----------red
green----------white
i think it blew a fuse, but if so how would i fix it? does it even have a fuse?:crying:
Oh dear! You've lived up to your name anyway. The phone is frazzled!
Next time get a schematic of the cable wiring or buy a cable. It'll be cheaper in the end.
Your phone shop should replace the phone though - just don't tell them your story

maybe since it wont boot up at&t wont have any way to know about the unlocked bootloader and cyanogenmod (they let me get a new phone for free even after rooting and bricking both my xperia tl's. All i had to do was say that the update broke itor the battery wouldn't hold any charge.) But I JUST got it two or three days ago so I feel very crappy now.
at least i have google voice on my computer and kindle fire.
WHY DIDN'T I WATCH THE STUPID VIDEO!!!! the answer is i am a freaking idiot.
When you say "phone shop", does best buy fit in that category? or is there any possible way to fix it from home?
Hey there. I really need someone's help here. See, my Samsung Galaxy S3 has survived a lot of throws, drops, scuffs and scratches and it works great. However I hit the final blow last night when my phone broke into a few pieces. Now it's all back together the only damage done is ;
The Case is deformed
The Front Glass is cracked
And the touch screen no longer lights up nor does it respond to any touch input.
I'm trying to find a way to project my phone's screen onto my laptop without the use of apps or extra cables. Only cable I have is the standard USB Charging Cable. Is there any way I can use this alone and a WIFI Connection to display my phones screen onto my laptop?
