[Q] Cannot flash ROMs - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am having a challenge.
I rooted, unlocked using odin. I installed Beans v6 and everything works fine. I then tried to install Beans v7 and could not. I tied to install Eclipse 1.1 and could not. Everything goes fine, says successful, when I reboot it just hangs on the "Samsung Galaxy Note II" screen.
I have verified the MD5 before attempting to flash.
I have tried TWRP 2.3.3.2 and CWM and neither work.
I have flashed both radios I605VRALL4 and I605VRALJB
I have wiped everything, before flashing using TWRP, CWM and SuperWipe. After flashing I have cleared cache and dalvik.
I have also tried dirty flashing.
In all attempts it hangs perpetually. I have let it hang for over half hour. I have gone back into TWRP and again cleared the cache and dalvik.

My phone did that very same thing. It was suggested to me to use a different browser to download the roms. So I started using firefox, and chrome. Havent had any problem since.

Try flashing the most recent TWRP. I think it's 2.4.1.
Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions.
I am now on TWRP 2.4.1 and downloaded another fresh copy using Firefox...
Progress? Dunno, it now bootloops, after the second time it loads TWRP.
I did a factory reset and wiped the cache and dalvik. Rebooted again and still double bootloop into TWRP.
So still looking for help if anyone has any other suggestions.

Have you tried flashing any kernels? usually if a phone won't boot that early on the kernel is to blame.

Wow your still having the same problems that's crazy. You should just go back to stock. Then root unlock again with the new casual. I wish I could see your phone and what's going on.

I wish someone could see this too. I have been flashing ROMs for a decade, starting with WinMo and through several Droids, I have never encountered anything like this.
I think I will try the stock and unlock again at this point. Let you know what happens.

Still having trouble. I follow the directions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207 part 1b.
I have downloaded CI605_I605VRLJB_I605VRALJB_CL414933_HWID04_HW-Rev0406_low_ship_user.tar.md5 several times, from different mirrors, using different browsers. (IE, Chrome, Firefox)

Okay cool. I'm just thinking your phone is fine and your wireless network is screwing up your downloads because if you can boot b6 then why not b7 it makes no sense. Do you a md5 checker on your PC? If not get one just so we can check the md5. If the md5 is correct you may want to use your Samsung USB cable and a different USB port on your PC of your not using the samsung one already.

Yes, I check the MD5 and they match. confirmed the MD5 on the device. So the file made it through to the Note 2 ok.

Ok, so factory reset, wipe dalvik and cache. Complete, Install v7. Any options in particular I should check or uncheck?

Okay cool let me know if you get the new copy of b7 to install and boot. I have a few more ideas of it doesn't. Also can you make sure super user is still on your phone and it runs.

[Q] Can I get my samsung vibrant working again?

I tired installing Jetpack ROM on my phone, but my idiot self forgot to wipe factory data and clear the cache, Now when it turns on it goes to the vibrant screen but then a voice says "convert data partition..not enough space on partition". And then a rainbow of colors flash and it goes back to the vibrant screen doing the same thing over and over. When i plug it into the computer via usb, and open up odin the id shows up for about 2 seconds and then disappears. Please can someone help?
You got bootloop probably from ext4 problem.
Try to get in recovery with keys Then flash rom again if its still there and SD didnt wipe
Otherwise you need to be in download mode for Odin and flash stock

HI ho, Hi ho, off to odin we go....whistle, whistle, whistle,
If he's got rainbows then he won't be able to see recovery, have to odin
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Recovery mode isn't working, I was able to connect to odin, but not in download mode, my screen in completely blacked. I put in the pit file and tar file and hit start and this what happened in odin.

Odin not gonna do anything w/o download mode.

So what am I suppose to do? Can I do anything else?
If you get boot loop when you turn it on you should be able to get to download mode fine. Are you sure you are doing key combo right? Did you flash GB boot loader?

I pressed the volume up and down button along with the power button. Isn't that the proper way to try to get it download mode? Also I have to idea what you mean by "flashing the GB boot loader".
You were suppose to flash GB boot loaders for GB rooms to get rid of rainbows in recovery..
Go to Q&A stickie noob guide and link to "go back to JFD stock" guide.
Should really research and know what you are doing before flashing roms.

Hey guys I had just started to think that I had seen it all but it turns out that I havnt. So let me start off by saying I've tried following this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026746

I'll say just use ODIN. Download the program, EH03 (if you're Verizon), and PIT v2.2. If you need additional help use this link.

I've already tryed odin and uing the pit it boots but has tons of fcs and errors
If you can find the stock eclair ROM (2.1) it might be worth flashing. It has a 2.1 pit that seems to format more completely and works better for me, then I odin GB with 2.2 pit. I seem to have trouble reformatting with 2.2 .pit and 2.1 .pit works every time. 2.1 pit file is also the only one that will correctly fix ext formatting such as voodoo lagfix. I'm on us cellular so my files won't help.

Can you tell us exactly what steps you're using when you use Odin? I noticed the guide you linked to in the OP was a really old sticky. Droidstyle's Guide is the only one that is currently up to date. It doesn't mean you've done anything wrong with Odin, I just want to make sure you have the files in all the right places and the correct check boxes checked.

I tried installing "Whompasaurus" ROM from VanillaRootBox.
If I remember correctly, I wiped/factory reset and system vanillaRB then installed Mod version of Whompasaurus ROM.
After than I installed Full version of Whompasaurus ROM w/o wiping any chache, data, system, etc.
And now here I am, "Samsung Galaxy Note II" logo turning on and off not allowing me to enter recovery mode.
FYI, a glimpse of TWRP Recovery image showed for a short period before bootloop when I did Up + Home + Power.
Now I flashed stock ROM using Odin but nothing's happening...

two things. First I think you had to flash the sd card fix before downgrading. At last that's what the op says for root box. Second what Odin file are you using? For you I would use the full stock jg image. Also pull sd card and sim before Odin and leave out to see if it works

If you use Root66 it doesn't completely wipe your phone like VRALJB or VRALL4 so you need to check the NAND Erase box in Odin before starting the flash.

I flashed root66 and it's stuck on the splash screen. Does it take a while to boot after that? I did factory reset and I had to format /data because TWRP thought I had encrypted data.
Update: flashed JellyBeans but it has no storage available (negative value on internal storage). Still no service. Flashing any of the modems that Scottsroms has does not update it. Maybe I can get it through odin. I heard that it takes a few minutes to flash a new modem, but it only takes a few seconds on my phone and does nothing
Successfully flashing a modem via TWRP only took a few seconds for me.

If you haven't already you may want to reformat internal storage and or flash root66 with the pit file or after that with both of those and Nand erase selected in Odin.

I flashed the full stock and it fixed my phone. Apparently, root66 doesn't update everything.
How do you Flash the Full Stock?

That's why I and other users recommended you select NAND erase in Odin when using Root66, it isn't that it doesn't update everything it just doesn't completely wipe everything.

It sounds like you were able to fix your problem. I think I am having the same problem as you. Could you please tell me in detail what you did? I have been rooting phones for almost 5 years now but this Note 2 is an entirely different beast.

[Q]Boot Loop + No Access to Recovery

I recently flashed the latest Hyperdrive ROM onto my Samsung Galaxy S4 Device. Everything was perfectly fine until I started getting weird unmounting errors from my SD card. I thought nothing of it as my camera still had access to files on the SD card. But tonight after eating dinner I came up to find my phone on the Samsung Custom screen with the lock icon as if it were booting up. I learned that this was a boot loop. So I instantly tried to do a factory reset and the problem arose when I couldn't access recovery. It would show the text in the top left corner then it would disappear and reboot and get stuck in the same loop. When I plug in the charger it gets stuck on this battery icon but it is frozen.
After hours of searching I downloaded the original verizon rom from stockroms.net. After having trouble with it saying PIT not found I realized that it was the USB port. It successfully flashed the original firmware. It then went back into the boot loop. The video I was watching to do this said this could happen so I tried once again to go into recovery. This time I knew the recovery was even back to default (I was using goo manager) as the text at the top left changed. But it once again rebooted and got stuck in the boot loop not letting me into recovery.
If anyone has anything I can do to fix this, I am all ears. Sorry if this has been answered previously but I have found nothing. Trust me. I have searched.
EDIT: I was able to get into ODIN nothing else. I flashed with ODIN.
Were you flashing the stock rom through recovery? If you werent grab the odin flashable images from the dev section and flash that. Should get you running again.

I flashed with Odin if that is what you mean. I can't get into recovery but I used Odin to flash the original firmware.

After you said u grabbed the stock firmware from stockroms you didnt specify your flashing method I wasnt sure how you were doin it. Your download might be corrupted so I would delete it, redownload it, then verify the md5 is correct, and then try again. Your flashing under pda and not phone right?

How do I verify the md5 is correct? Also, I'm wondering if the problem lies with it being a nowipe version of the rom. Is there anyway to find a rom that WILL wipe? I can't find any around the forum nor on google.
Google md5 checker or md5 verifier. I checked the link but sadly there wasnt an md5 posted for the file. I would still download a verifier tho they come in handy. There is wipe versions in the dev section. I decided to be nice and I grabbed the link for you. Also your flashing under pda and not phone right?

This rom worked! Thank you so much! Any idea what happened so I can prevent it from happening again?
I would assume it was probably just a bad download. Glad to hear you got 'er up and running.
