Hi all,
I have a i9100P (with NFC) and it is stuck at the boot screen with the yellow triangle after I installed CWM using this method here:
galaxys2root (DOT) com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-rooted-galaxy-s2-i9100/
I can still enter Download mode and even the installed CWM, but i cannot boot into android, its just stuck on the screen
I have searched on the internet for a solution, and i cannot find a solution for this
would installing a new ROM via an SD card work? What shall i do?
HELP me PLS!!
thanks in advance!!!!

You will need a rooted Galaxy S2 to install all ROM/kernels.
NOTE: PLEASE ONLY INSTALL ROMS INTENDED FOR YOUR VERSION OF Galaxy S2! Otherwise you WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE and I will not be responsible! ALL ROMs on this site are ONLY for Verizon Galaxy S2!

I wouldn't have tried this as your phone is i9100P, although I know the difference isn't that big.
Also, was your phone rooted? It had to have been rooted beforehand.

Hi, yes it was rooted prior to this, but i thought the only difference was that the P version had NFC - but now it seems I am stuck at the boot screen - any ideas? I would appreciate it a lot!
Flash your stock ROM and check it it works.

Yes, that should help. Btw what version you are downloading? 4.0.3 or 4.0.4?

I am downloading 4.0.3 from here: devsrom4android.blogspot (DOT)co (DOT) uk/2012/06/i9100pxxlph-o2-uk-samsung-galaxy-s2-gt.html
4.0.3 is what I previously had, and I believe that was the exact firmware I had on the phone (o2 NFC version)

That's your problem. You were on 4.0.3, which is ICS.
The instructions at galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-rooted-galaxy-s2-i9100/ don't specify, but they are for Gingerbread ONLY. The recovery kernel contained within that zip package is ClockworkMod Recovery 4.0.1.4, which is for Gingerbread.
This thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693) is the updated version of that recovery kernel for ICS.
You don't have to flash the full firmware, just flash a kernel that is meant to work with ICS and you should be fine.

Thanks for the advice - but i already have the stock ROM on an SD card so i think i will flash this. Problem is i cannot get CWM to read from the external SD card, so i cannot locate the zip and install it - help?
EDIT: if i install the kernel you gave me the link to ([KERNEL][ICS] ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4) , will it remove the root access i had?
EDIT 2: I have just flashed the kernel via odin, and it finally got past the screen with the yellow triangle! However, it is now stuck on the second screen which shows the 'S' logo with the words 'Samsung Galaxy SII' under it. Any more ideas?

Can you boot to recovery? If so, you can try a factory reset/wipe data. You'll lose all your data, (not counting pictures/media) but at this point, do you have anything to lose?

Well, now I'd say you need to flash a full firmware. You said you downloaded I9100PXXLPH from here? Should work. But you'll no longer be rooted, and you won't have CWM recovery.
How did you get into this in the first place? You wanted CWM recovery?

I will be sure to try that, and basically earlier today i rooted it successfully, and then i had to get CWM onto it so i could start flashing new ROMs etc, and i tried installing CWM via that method that has now caused all of this
Never the less i will try your suggestion, so should i basically mount usb from CWM, then copy the firmware over to the phone, unmount, and then wipe, and then flash it finally?
EDIT: it wont allow me to mount USB in CWM
can i just flash the ZIP using odin in download mode, or does it have to be a .tar file?

No. That download is for a package that must be flashed while the phone is in download mode. That will require you to use a computer, and a flashing tool, such as Odin or Heimdall.

How would I go about flashing it in download mode, i really have no idea as I don't think you can flash zip files in odin, forgive me for all of the questions I really appreciate your help!
EDIT: I have unzipped the file and hooray lies in it the .tar.md5 file! I am in the middle of flashing this and will report back on results
Thanks a lot guys!!
THANKS GUYS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP, my SII is now working fully again! Cheers to all that helped, flashing the stock firmware worked with wipe/cache
Can't thank you enough!
Last thing if you don't mind, i want to root it again using this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582)
Now after that, how can i install CWM without getting into the mess i got into today? cheers!

But it appears that this will not give you permanent CWM recovery. Which is what I think he wants.

Well I think Chainfire's CF-Root kernels (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399) are not for i9100P, so not sure if he can achieve permanent CWM recovery. Anyway if he don't plan to flash every hour new ROM he should be fine with latest temporary CWM 6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840223 although will ask Phil about compatibility.

ALL - via android consule, via odin, and i dont know about other method. with all other devices i had NO problem at all and i flashed many roms before. its the fors time something like that happened to me.
Try this with Odin: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.25.0-i9300.tar.md5 Put it at "PDA". What error gives you Odin ? Is the phone rooted ? Have you tried installing with CWM Manager from playStore ? Also, try TWRP Manager app, as I believe it does not require root to install the recovery. After TWRP is installed, download the CWM zip and flash it. Ypour friend is running stock ROM, right ?
If you're Rooted then download and install "ROM Manager" From Play Store and that'll guide you through installing the latest CWM for your device. This is the safest method i know.

1) Are you sure it is for GT-S5830i? But first, are you sure that your device is an Ace-i?
2) Which kernel is it? You need to know whether it is for stock-based ROMs or for CM7.2 ROMs.
3) Download mode is more important. Can you access it with volume down + home + power?

Since you can enter the Recovery Mode, just flash any custom rom. Make sure to do Wipe data/ factory reset, Wipe cache partitions, Mounts & Storage> Format /system and Advanced> Wipe dalvik cache from CWM before you flash a rom. That should solve it. If that doesn't work, then flash the stock rom back using odin from the Download Mode. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

there is nothing wrong in posting threads but it is wrong to hav 100 threads with same topic, anyway back to your question.....
you dont hav a missing firmware, instead you just messed up with cwm.... always remember never select reboot recovery from cwm or any other app coz it will surely get you recovery loop as our cwm has a bug... so always manualy enter cwm, so the solution is flash stock recovery den let your device boot succesfully then again get into download mode and flash cwm recovery. and if even this doesnt help you den flash stock rom, but just doing a factory reset wont make you loose your firmware

You can easily switch stock recovery to cwm with flashify app,No need Odin. Just flash recovery.img with this app & also u can flash custom kernals.
Check this post.....

Sadly didn't work, it says that my phone didn't pass the compability test so what's now? When i look for it on google play it says "your device isn't compatible with this version" but it installed succefully on my device running originally 2.3.6 with generic kitkat rom in 4.4.2 is there any method to do it in odin at least? Or custom kernel would be better? Answers will be appreciated.
No way to change it, also the risk is extreme i don't wanna brick my device, even i installed a custom kernel from odin, it showed "PASS" and my phone restarted and appeared the samsung logo later it turned off and restarted again and later the screen kept in white and i did need to get back to the old kernel
Anyway flash the stock recovery it's impossible to do.

You know that without cwm recovery u can't flash custom roms & kernals.
Pleas clear that which recovery u want stock recovery or cwm recovery?
And why?
Then I can easily guide or help u.
Best regards.
I want to change stock recovery to cwm recovery. I want cwm permanently no temporal, i know the zip file it's temporal but i want it permanent! I don't know how my phone did install "Compact" kernel with stock recovery and not with cwm i've had to do it that way 'cause odin didn't work and my phone got bricked
Can i install cwm permanent on samsung galaxy young duos? (S6102B)
I'll be very grateful if somebody could explain me!
The reason why i want cwm permanent and why i want it it's because i don't want to enter in recovery and see always the limited stock recovery with just 4 options
