Hey all I have a questions I moved all my apps to my sd card however when ever i mount it to my computer what ever apps are on my sd card dont return to my home settings. If anyone knows how to fix this please help. thanks
Do you mean the the Icons are then gone from your homescreen....or that the Icons on your homescreen no longer work?
Either way...seems like an issue with the Apps 2sd program that you are using.
I mean the icons disappear. However when I was using darky's 9.3 it wouldn't happen. I also switched from movetosd to app2sd app. What do you think the problem could be. Had a similar issue when I switched from bionix to auxora. On auxora they kept disappearing when I would turnoff/reboot or mount phone to computer. Thanks for the help btw.

You can't just move the android_secure onto a new sd card and to a new rom. you need to use titanium backup. root and then get from market for free.
Hi All,
In the Applications screen, I have arranged the icons there but after reboot or disconnecting from PC, my icons rearranges themselves.
I have searched and in xda-dev, only one guy has posted the same problem in xperia mini:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=998357
I don't have any SD card inserted so I'm not sure why.. (I've seen discussions that apps moved to SD card will make their icons run around)
Can anybody please assist?
Running Android 2.3.4, GINGERBREAD.UHKG7
Thanks!
Mine also does the same
Unfortunately I don't find any solution yet

I use AppZorter to put the apps in alphabetical order
Genius and saves me alot of time trying to move countless icons to different pages whilst trying to get them in order ... Only for somd of them to move on reboot.

hi chrisjcks,
thanks for your feedback but I don't want to arrange it alphabetically.
I want to sort it by my preference which would be in pages: apps, games, settings+mod, etc.
You can create folders and move your apps into them. I do it, the folders keep arranged as I pleced them. The apps inside, however, keep re-sorting as before. But if you have small folders, it's much better as if all apps are in a complete mess as it's without having folders.
Hi skr68,
yes i understand about the folders but it's sad having to create folders when we can have as many apps pages as we want..
can anybody else assist in advicing how to stop the icons moving around?
i'm currently using other launcher but it will not allow pages to be not full..
go to settings > applications > manage applications and the "on SD card" tab
the galaxy s2 partitions its internal memory in 2gb of ROM and the rest as an sdcard, so whether you have an external sdcard inserted or not, apps might still be being installed on the "sdcard"
have a look and see if any are ticked, open them and move them to the phone memory and see if the issue persists
Well, that might not *quite* be what he wanted to know...
We are talking about the icons here, not app installation paths.

Yes it the only thing I don't like about Touchwiz, You will have to use a 3rd party launcher like launcher plus or ADW launcher if you want that feature.
hi viva.fidel,
yes there are items listed "On SD Card" but they are not ticked - i opened them and the option is to move to SD card, no option to move to phone memory..any further advice?
Thanks!
hi jhernand1102,
i don't think it's limited to touchwiz, you can see the same problem with xperia mini at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=998357
hi, any help?
I think what is being said is that apps on SD are displayed after others because it needs to mount and scan at boot time, this is what is killing the order in the launcher.
What I really want to figure out is if there is some way I can modify the touchwiz launcher to always arrange alphabetically.

hi alias_neo,
yes i understand that but i don't have any sd card installed and if you see post ten, none of the apps "on sd card" is ticked too..
anyway, gave up and decided to use after market launchers..currently using GO Launcher
I'm running KG6 on a SGS2 and I was also having this problem. I found a solution though.
1. Install AppZorter Lite from the Android Marketplace.
2. Open AppZorter and select 'Settings'.
3. Select 'Advanced settings'.
4. Select 'Recover application menu'.
This will reset the application menu on the home screen and the icons in the app draw.
5. Move applications to your desired locations in the app draw.
6. Restart and enjoy app icons where you want them to be.
@ _Sledz_
thanks for the valuable input!

A simple solution would be to use adw free or paid. You can make catalogs and sort your apps as you want.
However touchwiz does not have any such features except moving apps around and making folders
app icons keep moving
my app icons keep moving around after I place them where I want them too. Probably the most annoying thing I've discovered about this phone.
Infuse 4G

worked for me

Hi everyone, I have one question regarding my Xperia Mini Pro sk17i.
1 month back i could have easily moved large amount of my newly installed apps to SD card without any problem. But recently whatever I install, I just cannot move it on SD anymore. I understand there are many apps that cannot be moven, but whatever i tried to install (randomly) from Google store just stays on my phone and option to move it to SD is blank (unavailable). Now, I'm wondering is this something that happens frequently, or have I maybe done something that somehow blocked that function?
I'll note this app (which previously when i had no problem moving apps from phone to SD or other way around wasn't installed):
Disk Defragmenter
another note: I never rooted or flashed my phone in any way, just regular updates. I'm currently on 4.0.4 version ( installed it 5 minutes ago, but still problem with moving to SD).
I have never face a problem like u'r..i'm using 4.0.4 too..
format u'r sd card and try
thanks for reply.
Well, i considered doing that, but i have so much settings on my phone that would take ages to redo once i reinstall all the apps...
Hey bro try link2sd then
Try formatting sd card and reset factory settings. Or you can root and move any app to sd..

use Link2SD is much better
Thanks for your time guys, I've formated and it looks like it's working now. I'll just have to spend some time to readjust settings like they were before. Thank you again. Lock if needed.
Glad to hear it. Good luck

I have a sony live with walkman phone with a 32GD SD HC card (10) and am having problems with transferring apps on to the card. Whenever I try and move an app I get a message that it could not be moved. On a few occasions the app has moved but then cannot be found when I want to use it and the icon changes. I had another of these phones previously and didn't have this problem, however I bought that one second so it may of been modded somehow. Another member on the sony forums told me the issue can be fixed so I was hoping that someone could help me please.
Many thanks
Which apps were you trying to move?Because some apps like Facebook and Gmail can't be moved to SD card but if your phone was rooted try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning and install Link2SD from PlayStore then you can link many apps that can't be moved to your SD card
Sent from my Live with Walkman using xda app-developers app
Thank you for your reply. I cannot move any apps to the SD card, not even ones that say they can be. The phone is brand new so not rooted. I had one of these phones previously and was able to move anything I wanted to the SD card, other than as you say apps that have to stay on the phone.
