Hi guys you are my last hope for solving an issue.
So i just received brand new alps model e1920_v77_zlh_9p017 CPU mtk6577 Dual core ARMv7 everything seems fine but the external storage the phone just don't seem to find the card and keep coming with notification "Damaged SD Card" and here is the problem SD card is operative on other phone and camera. Tried several different SD card the same notification. Tried different file systems FAT FAT32 NTFS the same result. The site where i bought phone from aren't responding to my questions. The phone is still in warranty. Pls advice
hi,
the problem is not ofn the phone, just on your tf card. You need to format your tf card before using it or change other TF card to try
Hello,
I had the same problem... it is quite easy to solve.
The problem is the internal connector of the SIMS and TF board. You must open the telephone and connect properly the connector. I also used a contact cleaner and some foam to keep the connector on the proper position and avoid future problems.
Sorry but I do not take any photographs of the procedure.
Good luck

hi everybody , soon i have upgraded my jasjam from wm5 to htc-tytn black diamond ,the problem is that when i put the sd card in its place, the mobile could'nt read it and show no storage card installed
can someone help me on this ??
thankyou
What size is it? If its bigger than 2Gb you may require the sdhc patch.
Can you read it on the PC? If the pc doesn't register it the sd card could be faulty, especially id=f its a "knock-off". I had this happen to me, all you can do is replace the sd card and hope you've backed up the card on he pc.
512
thank you for your interest ,the memory size is 512 kb and i tried it in another mobile its working
I once had a problem with dust collecting in my MicroSD port and it not recognizing the card. I used some can air and it worked from then on, just something easy worth looking at.
That would be my guess.
my phone have fallen to the grownd and after that he showed me that the sd card is damaged and i have to format it...
after i tried to fomat it, its now shows me "blank sd card"- when i connect it to the pc its shows me that i must format it before connecting to the pc..
when i try to format the sd card its doing nothing...
what can i do? the card is dead?
plz help me
sdcards themselves are shock proof, have you tried to use it in a card reader on a pc?
i dont have one
then get one
Yeah, try and get a reader. I've put SD cards through the washer, then the drier, and I've dropped them and stood on them. I've even seen a guy drive over his camera by accident. (bog standard compact camera. camera was ruined, but the SD card was fine, and good as new). They can also survive dips in sea-water, although terminal corrosion can be an issue for that kind of thing. But they'll survive pretty much anything I've thrown at them.
Since the SD card is solid state, and this all happened because you dropped your phone, the unfortunate reality of the situation is that it is more likely that your phone is the problem rather than the SD card itself.
You need to find something else to test the SD card in - either another phone that takes SD cards (doesn't have to be a Hero), or a PC card reader. If the SD card works, the issue is almost certainly your phone.
Regards,
Dave
but i tried a different sd card on the phone and its worked fine...
the reader wont help me- i want to use the sd card on the hero...
try to repartition it in recovery.
thanks
thank you very much kendong2!
after partitioning again its working!
thanks fo the help,
Daniel.
Hi guys, was hoping anyone can let me know what the problem is.
My handset is a month old, but the problem was from day one. I keep getting a error that the phone says my sd card was removed without being unmounted, while the card is still in the device. i have tried the following micro sd and sdhc card all brand new card but to no avail (2Gb scandisk, 8Gb Kingston and 16Gb Kingston), this doesnt happen so much with the 2gb in.
The phone also has a new pc board installed ( cause i bricked the first time )
Any suggestions ? is this a software issue maybe ? seeing as the sd card works and reads after its been dismounted.
Thanks
Bierman
Hello,
Hoping someone can help with this issue.
My phone is an international galaxy s3. Bought september 2012 with a class 10 sandisk 32GB SDCard. Around november, suddenly, phone keeps displaying "preparing sd card", "damaged sd card", etc. when phone wakes up from sleep, this causes media process to continually run in the background, killing battery. Force stopping the Media process doesn't help as after sometime, Media process will run again.
I solved the issue by buying another SDcard, same brand, class 10 32GB as well.
And now, after 2 months, same issue reappeared with my new SD card! Displayed the same preparing sd card issue, and now my phone seldom deep sleeps because of the android.process.media process. It keeps sending wake locks.
Anybody knows what the issue is and how to solve?
Thank you very much
Same problem here, I'm on my third SD now and after a week or so the same problem happens?
Carry out a proper test of the SD card .

I managed to temporarily solve the problem by buying another sd card (my 3rd SD as well), but this time I bought a class 4 16GB one.
One thing I noticed, when using ES file explorer, and checking the last modified of the SD cards (the old ones), it shows as 1970-01-01. When I reformat it, it goes back to the correct last modified date, but over time it goes back to 1970. This new SD card still shows the correct last modified date so far.
@JJEgan: I did try that SD card test tool from before (1st SD card) and didn't show any problems. I doubt it is a fake one though, I bought it in Korea with the hologram packaging and all, the 2nd one I bought in the Philippines but also looks legit (using SD test tool app also seems fine for both).
@sam77744: I already tried a factory reset. and formatted SD card in the PC, in the galaxy s3 itself, same problem.
Is it possible for the phone to mess up with the SD card over time? In such a way that even if you format the SD card lots of times, it will really not work well with the phone anymore?
By the way, my phone ran 4.04 then upgraded to 4.1.1 over the lifespan of the 1st sd card, then 4.1.1 and then upgraded to 4.1.2 over the lifespan of the 2nd sd card. Stock ROM, never rooted, updated 4.1.1 via Kies and 4.1.2 via OTA.
Will be grateful to any ideas on what might be wrong and how to permanently fix, I can't keep buying new SD cards every month
Download the SD Formatting tool, available for free from the manufacturers association's website. I've had several cards over the years that corrupted after formatting in the phone, but were okay after using the tool.
I'm not convinced that class 10 cards are the best option for phones, yes for cameras where only a small number of large files of written, but in phones where a large number of small files are written a class 6 might be better for real life use.
Hello there
I just bought a new micro SD card a week ago, and decided to flash my GT N7100 to Paranoid Android - unfortunately it appears that both my new micro SD and my old isn't in the format FAT 32. Sadly I'm not in any way able to format the SD card on my computer, because I don't have any kind of adapter (besides a mini sd adapter, which won't work in any of the computers I'm in reach of)
So here I am, asking for a method to format your external SD card to FAT 32 from android, or in any way from adb, or whatever. All I've got is the media cable for connecting my phone to my laptop.
I'm new to this forum, so I don't know if someone will ask me why I don't just buy an adapter, and there's not much to it. It's a principle for me now, I have used more than 24 hours trying to find a solution for this problem, and therefore I will do everything I can and much more untill the solution is found.
I've searched the web, searched this forum, nothing cleared my question out.
In advance, thank you.
