My friends vibrant which is rooted with eugenes macnut13, locked which means he has t mobile, won't get service. Like an idiot he took it to t mobile and the lady there factory reseted it, didn't help. Gave him a new sim card, still no service. Sup he gave to me and I figured it could be the rom so I flashed axura 2.1, still no service. Any suggestions before I odin it then tell him to take back to t mobile?

I had similar problem and it turned out it was defective sim cards and also there are multiple types of sim cards now that T Mobile is putting out and not all work in every device. Tech rep told me this and I found it to be true. Perhaps checking with TMobile about type of sim card might be a possible solution.
Ok thanks. Also does anyone know if there is a stock rom thats flashable through clock work instead of having to use odin, because I'm not bricked but would like to return to complete stock, searched and couldn't find one just wondering if it exists.

Seriously, odin nothing to fear its so easy as long as you have the Samsung drivers installed and you use the correct provided files. You should give it a go. I have done it countless times and it has never failed. You can even watch a video on YouTube on how to do it.

Same problem with mine. I unrooted prior to this update. Tried 3 times on 4g, 3g and Wi-Fi. Any thoughts on this?

Intrepid, in your case, have you disabled any system apps? Re-enable them and try again.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
No apps have been disabled. Its pretty much stock.

Try a factory reset first....That will make sure you're bone stock.
Thanks. Ill give that a shot in a few minutes.

Accepted the update this morning... went smoothly. Took forever to download though, think the servers were slammed with everybody doing the same thing. I am bone stock, for now.

Having same issue. Stock nothing removed or froze. Was rooted with voodoo. Temp unroot didnt work. uninstalled all root apps unrooted with voodoo. Did factory reset downloaded again . Gets about half way through install.....Triangle and android on screen. Then it reboots and says update failed. Any ideas how to fix this?

same issue here, trying hard reboot!
will keep you posted
Just curious. If you are having this problem, did you perform your download over 4G or WiFi? I have no clue about what is causing this problem, but if you were on 4G perhaps you can try downloading again using WiFi (or visa-versa)? Yes, I know this shouldn't matter. But it is something to try.
I was downloading through wifi.

I just did a factory reset including internal media and the SD card, downloaded the update and tried to install but got the triangle and android on the screen about halfway through. Any thoughts?
Did a hard reset, wiped user data and that seemed to do it
If you are rooted, uninstall bootstrap or safestrap if you have those. For me safestrap was breaking the update. Thxkbai!
Just did another hard reset with no luck getting through the update. Willing to entertain any suggestions...
How far do you get?

This may seem like an odd suggestion, but if you keep failing to install the OTA pushed to your phone, try flashing the file from the root of your SD card.
About a quarter of the way through. It showed a triangle with the android on the screen when it stopped.
I have had this phone unlocked for several months now. It worked just fine on tmobile edge. This morning, I wanted to upgrade to 4G, and went to this forum and rooted with odin3 1.85 installed tmob stock boot, and tmob system then flashed blaze modem. No sim. Flashed uvlg3modem, no sim. Flashed all the available modems, no sim. Factory reset, no sim. emergency calls only. did have the android process.acore has stopped, but after the factory reset, went away. Went to tmob store and got a new sim. Still does not read a sim. Was working just fine until i rooted it, and flashed the modem. I have searched the forum until i'm ready to smash this phone. any help????
How long did you wait before you freaked and started flashing different modems? Do those modem files have att i717 anywhere in the file name? Flash the T-Mobile again and do not flash a radio. What happens?

After the first one didnt work, i went on and flashed all of them one at a time. the thread stated that if one didn't work, flash the others. And, no, they were all tmob. I have flashed blaze and uvlg3 twice each. I did blaze before I installed the tmob system on odin
Just flash the T-Mobile one and no radio.

how do i do that? I have the uvlg3modemfori717 zip file on the phone now. i also have vkltest, and icsblaze all zip files. do i drag it onto the phone, and flash it like before?
could i have lost my unlock? I paid for a factory unlock, $20 and sent my imie number. They sent me a code to unlock it.
Just use Odin to reflash the T-Mobile system and boot. Then let the phone start with sim in and see where you are at with a signal.

so use oden and put the tmob system in pda again? what about the stock boot? that one too?
ok did that, and still, says no sim card emergency calls only. still have the uvlg3modemfori717 zip file. did not reflash it.
I don;t know it this helps, but the phone is showing 4 bars right next to the battery, like it's picking up a signal. when i go to settings-more-mobile networks insert sim card to access network services. I have my old tmob sim and a new one they gave me yesterday.
Do you have bone of the att modem files? Try flashing the att modem file and then see if you get service again.

Also if you have an att sim. Put it in and tell us what happens.

Unlocking is permanent.
You should test your sims in another phone - they can go bad.
You should return your phone to stock and test your verifed sim card - the sim card slot can go bad. Its a warranteed repair, but only if you have a stock rom.
tried to take it back to stock, now, it says that calendar.process has stopped, and goes through with other things until it just freezes.
Are you flashing after wiping everything in cwm? If you are having issues with things crashing, factory reset should take care of the issue.

I seemed to solve the no sim issue, however, it is running really slow, and different processes keep stopping. system process, android process, ect. I have installed the att stock files and went back to the tmob, and that still doesn't fix the issue. I can't get into the settings through the phone to do a hard reset, everything fails before i can get there. the process com.android.phone has stopped. idk what the heck is wrong with this thing. all we wanted was to get 4g. man, i really screwed this thing lol.
Ok, heres whats going on now. I have fixed the sim issue, and the process issues. I reset my phone to factory. Now this is what i have on it:
tmobile system, stock boot, and icsblaze modem. I have 5 bars, and pick up tmobile, on 4G. Factory reset and icsblaze modem were the keys. I had the uvlg3 modem but it was causing my phone to crash. So, I deleted that modem, and put on the blaze, 4G works great. Thanks for all the help.
You are welcome. Its not always an exact science. I also had issues with different modems and always had to return back to stock Tom image.

Hey, can you explain how you fixed your issue? Thanks.
Got the phone Wednesday. Ran into problem with the camera not working Friday, brought into Verizon they made me reset it ABD it worked so I rooted it and now it don't work again. What should I do? Unroot and go back to Verizon? Upgrade so I lose root is that the easiest way? Then return it?

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like I can't keep my wifi off.
Every time I turn wifi off it gets turned back on by itself.
I'm sure I'm just being a complete noob and missing something.
Stock unrooted latest update.
Was ok before update.
Any help appreciated.

Sounds like Sprints "Connection Optimizer" here, I think there's a way to disable it, but I just deleted the APK from the system folder, are you rooted?

After you uncheck it, if you're rooted, use TB to freeze or uninstall so it never comes back to haunt you. I've been freezing apps until I decide if they're fully safe to delete and that I'm sure I won't want them.
Not Sprint but note 3 having the same issue
My phone is not sprint. I'm using an international version of note 3. And having the same issue. Could you please help me with that?

Connections optimizer isn't onlyfor Sprint. Fix is probably the same, but might be named differently, but similarly.
