Hi all,
Short and sweet.
A mate was updating their Galaxy S3 via the wireless method. He downloaded the update but only had 3% battery so could not install and clicked the 'install later' message..or something a long those lines.
Upon charging the phone and then trying to install the firmware update, the phone is now stuck in a cycle whereby you see the little green Andriod with the percentage bar. It gets to 100%, reboots and then does the same again...over and over.
It is not recognised when connected to a PC and there are some pictures on there that are very dear to his heart. Is there any way of obtaining these pictures?
Thanks.
Are they on internal or external sd?
Can he get to recovery? If yes, boot into recovery adn pull the files with ADB.

Hi guys,
Here's what I've done.
Galaxy S2, rooted several days ago using CF-Root no problem.
Flashed Cyanogen 7.1 been using it for a couple of days, no problem.
I had the yellow triangle on boot and I bought a USB Jig thinking that would remove it.
It put the phone into Odin mode, but didn't remove the triangle.
So then, still with Cyanogen 7.1 on the phone, I powered off the phone, connected it up on Odin and used the PDA button to flash an official Samsung Kernel (Kernel_I9100XWKI4) - I remember XKWI4 was on my phone originally before I did anything. I guess this had changed with Cyanogen being installed.
Now the situation is I cannot power the phone on at all, just black screen.
Plugging in the USB jig does absolutely nothing.
If I have Odin open and connect the phone to the PC, Odin does recognise the phone.
Can anyone help me please - only had the phone a week!
Remove battery wait 10s, put battery back and either use the jig or boot while holding home vol-down and power.
i remember when i was fixing my brother galaxy s captivate after i flashed cyanogenmod i had to install google aosp drivers as opposed to samsung drivers to get odin to recognize his phone. So...try that.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Basically ODIN can see the phone.
I had managed to get the phone to boot to the Samsung screen (triangle gone as now on Stock Kernel) however it would stay on this screen forever.
I have used ODIN and flashed CWM recovery 4.0.1.5 to the phone which I can access using the 3 key combo. Obviously after doing this, the phone now boots with the triangle however it stays on the Samsung screen permentantly.
I figured I would try to re-flash Cyanogen.
Problem I now have is that Cyanogen is on the removable SD card - the phones internal 16Gb "card" is empty.
I can't get CWM to see anything on the removable SD card.
If I simply power on the phone currently, I get the Samsung flash screen with the triangle (no longer bothered about removing this, I just want the phone to work!) and it stays like this permentantly.
I can access CWM Recovery Mode, however it cannot see the removable SD card.
I can also access ODIN download mode and the phone is detected with ODIN.
I am unsure as to what Kernel is currently on the phone.
Either connect your phone to the pc while in recovery, go to mounts and storage and mount sd (or internal memory, no idea what the actual name is) and copy the rom to the internal sd card. Or use odin to start fresh again.
Hi everyone! When updating my Galaxy 5 to Cyanogenmod via Odin i had a power breakdown. When trying to restart my phone into download-mode, it showed me a screen as seen on the picture below. I can´t connect to my PC any more, and the phone isn´t recognized by my PC. And the former Os is not reachable. What can i do to get my phone back to life?
Thanks for your answers!!

Hello i have recently updated my ROM but sadly something happened with my service, it just said "no service" and i wasn't able to receive or take any calls so i installed this rom again from the recovery, and then when i rebooted this device, it suddenly stopped on the green goblin logo loading screen and my device was unrecognized by a PC, recovery didn't work... so i tried a RoFUSiON which can install a rom through the pc but my device, as i said, wasn't and isn't recognized anymore. What i can do? i can't even charge it, last night i connected it to the charger and let it on. When i woke up and unplugged it, it had no battery! probably it wasn't chargning, it was discharging, and the only way i can turn my mobile on, is plugging it to the usb, doesn't matter if into the power socket or usb-to-usb, even the screen lights up without the battery but still i can't go to the recovery or fastboot (probably, because as i said my device isn't recognized so either that's the problem either fastboot doesn't work). Here's also the video about this, maybe someone can help me since i don't know what to do.. thanks in advance.

Hey guys. I am stuck on my Note 2. I have recently reverted to stock after rooting (about 2 months ago) and now out of the blue my phone has what seems to be a soft brick. I'm wondering if the NAND is dead.
Upon normal boot, the phone is stuck on the Galaxy Note II splash screen. Only way to make it go away is to remove the battery. If I try to plug in my charger after removing the battery the icon for the battery shows up and freezes. I have to remove the battery to get out of that screen as well.
I can boot into recovery mode but I get a android icon laying on it's back with a red triangle and an exclamation point out of it's chest.
I also get a bunch of red text that talks about failing to mount /cache, /sdcard, /cache/recovery/log etc.
I've tried to flash with Odin 3.07 my stock ROM but I get a fail at NAND Write start.
I'm running out of options. I do get the blue menu at the recovery menu and options to update from ADB and from external SDCard both of which don't work. I also tried to wipe the data and do a factory reset from this menu, but it always says it fails to mount /sdcard and /cache.
I've tried rebooting without the external SD card and even without the SIM card. Nothing works.
Any help you could give I would appreciate. Thanks everyone.
oh goodness.. i think the only wait to save it would be the odin method.. i would pursue that more.. maybe try different cables.. make sure you have the correct version of Odin and all the drivers for Samsung... make sure ODIN connects..
best of luck man.. wish I could be more help.. I know i'm not the best at troubleshooting these kinds of issues.. i'm typically one that follows line by line directions to get flashing done.. not sure why and how things work..
Hello guys, i come to you with a problem with my phone. I've a Samsung J7 Prime SM-G610M/DS with Stock ROM.
Everything started when a new update came to install like a week ago. It downloaded it correctly and started update process.
In the middle of it, it ran out of battery.. So it began..
1) The phone is practicaly not charging. If i plug it to an USB port or directly to the wall, charges like 6% every 24 hours. Sometimes it doesn't charge at all. Note: whenever i plug it, the battery-charging animation does not work properly. Just turns the battery icon with the lightning in it and then turns off the screen, not showing battery percentage or animation whatsoever. Battery is non removable and tried cleaning charge port.
2) If i put it on Download Mode, computer doesn't recognize it. It is not a drivers issue. I've another Samsung J7 Prime and it connects correctly. I must discard everything Odin-related.
3) In recovery mode, i've emptied cache and did several factory resets with no luck. If i turn it in a regular way, it tries to apply some update but changes to "No command" view.
4) I tried downloading the last stock version and putting it on an SD. Formatted it correctly but when i try to update from SD in recovery, a message comes up: "Couldn't mount /sdcard".
I'm starting to loose my mind here guys.. Please give a hand or a clue!!
Thank you very much.
