Hello, I noticed some call log entry have ALL THE DATE in red, what does it means?
EDIT: Read few posts below to see about the "call log limit"

Mention Android version and/or post a screenshot.
Re: Call log entry ALL RED?
It's 4.1.1 with the stock phone app. Can't post a screenshot now, simply the date is all in red.
Normally only the arrow icon showing a missed call is red.

Still got no answer.. I see DATE of few entry in BLOODY RED. I would REALLY like to know what it means.

Sad that no one seem to wonder what it means (cause i'm certainly not the only one experiencing this)!
Will bump it foreverrrrrrrrr
Bump for this and else : I restored call log from sms backup, entries goes as far as 2012 march.
But in the phone, it stops/stars @2012 july... Is there a limit? Can i set it? SMS all displays...

Depends on the number of SMS messages you have. You could have the messaging app set to delete old messages when it reaches some limit. You can check that in the messaging app in it's settings.

No i don't have that, they're all kept for +2years, probably there is more than 500.
Anyways i was asking about how to remove limit for call log, not sms..

+1. Someone must have a mod to retrieve and store more than 500 entries in the call log database. My Palm Treo had this nearly 10 years ago. Please share.

Hey guys somethings wrong with my aria, I don't receive text messages and my market apps don't update, but sometimes ill just get messages randomly but with like 12 of them at once! People can receive them from me but I don't receive....its annoying, also it will sometimes receive them after I reboot the phone. The reason I know that my phone is like this is cause my friends told me that I wasn't replying to them. So I borrowed an old iphone and used that for a week and got all my text messages just fine and had no problem :/ does anyone have a solution? And is this also happening to other people?

Having a problem making calls. When I dial via Google Voice, or by clicking a number in my browser, a +1 gets added to the number, and as a consequence I get an error stating the network is busy. If I delete the +1 before dialing I have no problem connecting.
I've played with various options that I found, to no avail.
I'm running Liquid Gingersense 1.6 (happened on 1.5, too), and I honestly can't remember if it happened on my stock 2.2.1
any help?
Try disabling assisted dialing?
Settings---call---assisted dialing. Unchecked the box. Not sure if you have to reboot or not.

Did that..no luck..

Seems its an issue with the Google voice app, since it never does that via my sense dialer. Maybe copy the number, then paste it into a text message or another app that parses, and dial from there?

Do you have Facebook syncd up? All contacts imported from Facebook will have +1 and therefore not let you call or text that #
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Google Voice tends to do that because it treats all calls as international calls. If you log into your google account online you can disable this by making a call online. Your phone will sync your preferences from there.

So just place a call from within GV on my computer? I don't need to change any settings? Can I enter a # to dial or do I need to select one from my contacts?
That's what it looked like when I was on there

That's weird but it worked. Actually, it stills adds 1 but not the +, and that's corrected the issue.

I'm a youth pastor and send texts to around 80 students about events and things we are doing. I send mass texts to them quite often and the most annoying thing I've run into is the SMS hour limit. I can't remember if it's 100 or 160 but either way after I surpass that number within an hour (only two mass texts to my students) I then see a popup warning after every individual text. I then have to manually click yes after each warning or my messages never send. I found this thread but it doesn't seem to work...

Any suggestions?

Google Voice supports mass sms
Wow I had no idea there was a limit and I text a lot. Is this carrier specific I wonder?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
Mass texting is not the problem. There is a setting embedded in the Android OS that makes a warning popup after you reach a certain number of texts PER HOUR. It is not carrier specific it is within the Android OS settings. any other ideas?
Hmmmmm. Very interesting. I don't have the slightest clue.

Can you post the screenshot?
And which rom you are running.
I'll screenshot the next time it happens. I'm always running the most current version of tasks' AOKP ROM.

if its a system popup, there must be some way to bypass it....

If you read the thread I linked in my OP it seems that it is a system warning and not carrier or ROM based.

I read it, i was just stating that it must be reachable either in the framework.jar or somewhere else in the system files.

Didn't mean to suggest you hadn't read the link but just commenting about where I got the info that it seems like a system file somewhere.
Screenshot..
Hmmm what about if yer using the straight talk or something and not a carrier like att I don't know how that stuff works? U know what I mean the pay by use stuff?

Looks like it may be a go sms message... have you tried using the stock sms app?

Actually elite SMS screwed up my phone. It rebooted right after install and reset many of my ROM settings and completely disabled my home button. Had to do a full wipe/reinstall to fix everything... any ideas what happened?

Have you just tried the normal, stock SMS app?

As far as I know I can't text groups larger than 10 with the stock messaging app... unless I'm missing something?
Hi there, i have been using sms Backup & Restore for a while now since i have been swapping a lot of roms and i wanted to keep my smses safe with this program. It has been working flawlessly until now. I flashed rgui miui b9 and when i tried to restore my smses i got my conversations split in two. Its not like i have my Messages in two times Its Just that they are split. I am uploading an ss to let you get what im saying.

i think thats relevant with miui. i used miui on my old galaxy sl. same issue happened to me. the solution is not certain but you can try changing your contact number , add the country code the numbers and restore your smses again. let me know its worked or not.
Sorry for my English.
You mean add the full Number on the selected Contact? The Number is 12345 and i added +30 on front of it. Still no luck any more ideas?

You would need to 1st enable sms by altering the build.prop settings - assuming you have root access and stuff.
The specific line to be altered would be:
ro.ril.reject.cs.ss.enabled=1
ro.ril.reject.mo.sms.enabled=1
ro.ril.reject.mo.ussd.enabled=1
This should enable messaging and should work provided your AT&T sim has the feature enabled. Not sure about MMS though-haven't tried.

They are on line 15,16,17 or so in the stock rom's build.prop file. Which rom you on? Could find it and let you know.
And if they are missing completely from the file, you can add it in anywhere. What I have noticed is, at the end of the original file, give a few spaces after the last part, feed it in, save, reset phone. And you would need to even enable the phone function - tutorials for that already on the forum.

I'm using El Diablos Rom. I added the lines but still can't send or receive. I've used Hancent sms, chompsms. I even downloaded a stock HTC messaging app because my tablet was missing one. The only thing working for me is GOSMS using the goChat option, such is ok except for the fact that people who I send to don't see my number, they see some other username that GoSms assigned to me. I guess i will live with that. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!

I am also on el Diablo itself. The 16th line has got the sms function. It says reject sms. By default it is set to 1.change it to 0. Should solve the issue.
And I use go sms only. The others never worked for me.
