I just replaced my that whole bottom section because my Note wasn't charging, and now I can only use my phone on speaker. I'm not finding very much help online, everyone says clean the mic hole out but thats not the problem. I even tried to put mic'ed headphones in it and I could hear the other person, they just still couldn't hear me, which makes me think its a connection problem. Were you ever able to fix the issue you had?

Headphone jack issue!

I was wandering if anyone else had this problem? Every time I plug in to the Headphone jack my SD card unmounts. Has anyone else seen this?

i dont have that problem but my headphone jack does seem extremely tight, not sure if i have to 'wear' it in
don't have that issue BUT annoying is that when u plug in headphones it DISABLES THE MICROPHONE!! arg. so no way to listen to music & then answer a phone call without unplugging yer phones. How stupid is this?? its like the designers never actually used the phone

I know right? Its a damn shame that the guys here will fix all the problems that HTC should have caught
As for the Microphone issue, I think that has to do with the actual software.
Ok, I figured out that the tip of my connector was bent and it was pushing against the SD card.

Mic not working
Guess I didn't know this was an issues since every phone I have ever owned (feature phones) with a headphone jack d/c the mic when you plug it in. I always just picked up a nice pair of headphones with a mic on them to answer calls.
Found that out the hard way too. Right in the middle of a busy street, on an important call. Can't wait for CM7 so I dont have to deal with a stupid feature like that...
Audio Jack has a loose connection
I found a different issue in that if you bump the headphone jack just right, it cuts out the audio altogether. I took my Thunderbolt to the store thinking I had a defective unit and I was able to duplicate with their floor models too. Sounds like a manufacturing defect. I tested several headsets that to eliminate that as the problem.

Can you reproduce the issue with the battery cover off? Wondering if maybe the headphones aren't seated right. Taking the cover off would give more room to make sure they are all the way in there. (That's the only way I could type that last sentance without it sounding pornographic)
Note: don't bump it too hard with the cover off. You may knock the battery out.
no i have not encountered this problem, and i use headphone jack everytime i go out
Yea that definitely is a defect! If you can't easily fix it without potentially causing damage, I would get a replacement
The Disabled Microphone issue is really annoying, I can't wait for a dev to fix it!
That's lame. Have you heard of anyone figuring out a workaround yet?
Anyone found or asked a ROM developer about the mic shutting down when a headset is connected?

Audio jack issue

Hey,
So I got a new pair of headphones today (Shure Se215's) and I have a major issue with them connecting to my Galaxy sII.
The headphones work perfectly in other devices and I have never had any trouble with other headphones in my own phone.
However with these new headphones the jack seems dodgy. It only gives full sound (not switching between mono and stereo, just tinny as ****) when on the right angle. So right now I cant use them together without constantly holding the cable in the right position.
One similar thing which I have noticed is that connecting an AUX cable has always been dodgy too. The phone will not pick up that it is plugged into an aux cable (Car or home stereos) until I wiggle and jam it in and even then it takes a few seconds if it works at all.
Any help would be great! I have done a lot of searching on here and around the web and haven't found any issues quite the same as mine.
I'm not scared to open up the phone and play with hardware if people think it is necessary.
Cheers
Dodgy audio jack, what more is there to say?
Fix under warranty or take to phone shop.

Buy a new part online and do it yourself. I did it for mine when the vibrating module died, it was ridiculously easy and I'd never done anything like that before.

[Q] Earpiece and headset issue

I'm having some problems:
- The earpiece does not work in calls.
- When i plug a headset (one with mic and another without it), if volume is at max i hear just crackling sounds (nothing else) and when volume lower than max there's no sound at all.
i replaced the earpiece yesterday (the flex with everything else) and still have the same problem... so i tought it must be a software issue, then unlocked the bootloader and flashed cm7.2 stable (i was on at&t 2.3.6), but still, the same problem...
any help?
Sounds like your jack might be faulty.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you mean earbuds or similar. In that case, please ignore, sadly I have no other advice.

Same issue here - out of the blue my earpiece quit working. Did some research and found several posts that the earpiece was a possible faulty design by Moto. Like you I replaced the earpiece and flex cable. Earpiece started working fine, then it quit again. Then found something strange - when I removed the SD card it started working again. So to test, I put the SD card back in and it quit working again. Removed it again, rebooted and it was working again. Did this about 5 times with same results. Wake up the next morning, go to make a call and the earpiece is dead again. Its been dead since.
Was running CM 7.2.1 stable when this started. Flashed the nightly afterwards to see if that fixed it; nope. I believe its a software thing also so I'm trying to figure out which ROM I load next to test.
You guys have any luck?

Mine stopped working last week. After trying a few different headphones and doing all sorts of changes. I finally realized that I had a bit of pocket lining stuck on the instead which got embedded at the bottom. I used a paper clip to scope the lining out.
Any breakthroughs? Has any1 fixed the ear piece issue?
Please know if you do this ypu risk damaging your phone and this will be your decision.
With that said... If you remove the back panel you will find that the jack uses spring contacts to connect to the board. Make sure they are clean and making good contact.

Galaxy S2 HeadPhone Jack issues

I have Samsung Galaxy S2 with MIUI Rom.
I have this some unique issue which i tried looking up on net but am unable to find a solution.
I recently Purchased a Sennheiser MX 170 EarPhone.
When i normally connect this to my S2, the music still plays through the speaker of the phone.
But when i tilt it & put a pressure on it then it plays through the headPhone
& as soon as i remove the pressure it again plays through the speaker.
This happens with most of the headphones, only few earphones do play correctly on my phone.
I dont know if anyone else is facing this issue or not.
But please help me out.
Where the problem is.
Go check or your headset is really complete inside the jack. I also had that when i first got the phone and by iphone.

I am pretty sure your headphone output is broken, at least partially. Depending on the design and material of the headphone plugs, some headphones might work while others won't. I had the same problem. But luckily, it is actually very easy to repair.
You need this: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Samsung...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item2337019eec
and a screwdriver (just go to a builders store, I got mine there). Luckily there are just 7 screws you need to undo, all the same size.
I found this video helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65pvAINg2ME
from 5:15, the guy explains how to replace the headphone jack.
For me, everything is working fine now!

3.5 mm jack issue

Yesterday everything was working fine with the 3.5 mm jack, I'd plug in and play away.
Today when I plug into the 3.5 mm jack, I have the phone turned all the way up and have to turn my car speakers up all the way to hear anything. The back speaker works fine, I run CM 11, already cleared cash to see if that would fix the issue, done some internet searching, now I'm here.
Any advice or is the phone just going dead?
Not water damage, no dropping, always in OtterBox Defender, I'm at a loss, love the phone.
Hmm maybe your car speakers are going bad? I'm guessing your using and aux port or and tape player with a Jack connected to it? Maybe it those items.
