Hi,
I'm trying to setup a lock screen using the stock gallery app (JB stock samsung, LS8 FOP), but the selector for choice a part of an image is a bit weird (screenshot attached).
The part of image used ad lock screen is the part selected with internal rectangle, but external frame avoid select, for example, the corner of an image.
This behavior doesn't happen on JB Galaxy Note II. Is it a bug?

Hope I'm not wrong, but in my opinion it's seems to be logical, because if u check the lockscreen, u see that u are Ble to add more than one.
This means u have the main and at least camera to the right or one/two/... to the left.
So to have a background there, too, and while scrolling, u set not just the internal part, also the outer one.
Sorry for bad explaining but hope u got it anyway

I don't understand very well your explaining, I think that you are trying to say me that this method allow setup a wallpaper that cover all desktop when I do horizontal scrolling between them ¿?¿?
I've attached an edited version of previous screenshot. In Galaxy Note II, only the green frames are available.
The vertical frame shows the area of image wich will be show when mobile phone is vertical (in lockscreen or in desktop mode). The horizontal frame shows the area of image wich will be show when mobile phone is horizontal (in desktop mode, it allow scrolling between desktops if you have many of them). That is right.
But the external frame (remarked in orange) avoids, for example, include the cross I've painted in the corner of image in your lock screen. This not happen on Galaxy Note II...
Yep that's what I wanted to say
Sorry was a tired when I wrote...
Ok I see what u mean, but did u try to add a second and third screen and looked if the "red parts" also visible?
If yes it's like I meant but anyway bad shown in 'select wallpaper'
Otherwise u r wrong and it's a kind of senseless or maybe a bug...

I already have added 3 desktop screen, but behaviour is same with 3 or 7 screens.
In any case, I'm trying to setup a lock screen, not a wallpaper. I think that horizontal frame only should be appear when I select a wallpaper for desktop, not for lock screen, because the lock screen is always vertical and it only shows the part of image included in vertical frame selector. That wouldn't be a big problem if I can put the vertical frame in any corner of image, but this is the problem, external frame avoids this.
With this method is imposible select the corner of an image for used it as lock screen or wallpaper.
Thank you for your help.
I was using Nova Launcher. I've tried to use TouchWiz stock launcher and the problem is same, but while ToucWiz is used, the frame format change a bit (see the attached screenshot). As you can see, now the external frame is closest to internal vertical/horizontal frames.
This selector keep its new format until a few minutes after start to use Nova Launcher again (I think that until some Touchwiz references are remove from memory).
Then, we have a stupid buggy selector wich change its format depending of active launcher.... :-/

Yeah, what is it that you wanna do?
You were saying something like the launcher changes the image? or something.
That's how Samsung screen selector system is right now. It's messed up due to the screen scrolling. Use wallpaper wizardrii to set a non scrolling wallpaper and then you'll be able to select the whole image
The thread us about a bug in the wallpaper selector.
If you have, for example, a photo in portrait mode and want to use it as a lock screen photo then you can't use the whole image as you could in ICS (AFAIK. I was using Apex Launcher in ICS). The outer squared frame doesn't let you use the portrait picture and you get stuck only with the inner part of the photo(looks like zooming the image).
And yes, I'm having this issue too... Was hoping for a fix in latest releases and Spain OTA update... In vain...

Okay, I checked it out. Definetly right, It only takes the medium frame.
Now, why don't you try editing that image, so the whole pic fits the frame?

Sup people ,hows it going?
First of all if this question is wrong posted, please delete or move it but i thought it is a DEV related problem,
So my question is : Installed Z's 2.2 beta 2 + hotfix1 ,and i adore it,it works awesome, the cam is good and everything but one slight problem.
My widgets look very gradient'ish, its like it just changed to 256 colors or so,so i thoght it was related to LCD density which is atm set to 240.
What can i do to make this look better?I mean meh,its such a nasty view to look at the facebook/twitter/control and see how gradient'ish are.
Thanks in Advance

EDIT : This only happens with the default widgets as far as i can see. (Facebook,Twitter,Analog Clock,Energy Control)

But thanks for answerin.

In Gingerbread thread, Jerp wrote that the problem is our display's running with 16bit in the custom ROMs at the moment and Gingerbread (and perhaps Froyo also) is using 32bit. So it's hopefully only a temporary problem that can be fixed by the devs.

I don't think there are only a few with that problem. But it also depends on the widget/wallpaper itself. The stock energy control widget for example look nice at my screen. How does it look for you? The one in the screenshot isn't stock as far as I see it. Otherwise the Nexus S live wallpaper has really heavy gradient for me. Actually I'm on Gingerbread, but I just want to point out that can be a problem of certain widgets.

This has nothing to do with your launchers or density.
This is the fact that the screen is running at 65K Colors, which causes the visible gradient.

No the 65k Colors cant be the Problem becouse on 2.1 SE Rom there is no Gradient and in earlier FreeX10 Version there was no gradient for me i have Gradients since Beta 2. Gingerbread have no gradients on my Screen only Froyo Beta 2

I can see my gradients does the same when I scroll between screens on my launcher. But they disappear when the screen transition is done.
I think the difference between 2.1 SE Rom and 2.2 Free X10 is the color dithering system that SE has running in their ROM. Although I have no way to prove that, I just remember reading about it somewhere when we got the 2.1 update came out.

Yeah but thats becouse Launcher i have changed Scroll Cache on LauncherPro to have no Gradient when scrolling or you just can check High Quality Scorlling then you will see no Gradients but the Problem on Beta 2 is i see extreme Gradients withouth even scrolling but it was good on Beta 1 so i dont know why. Maybe Camera have something to do with it?

Yup exactly. If it was for scrolling id say it was the launcher but as you can see in the pics, they are still and very gradient'ish. And also i didnt have this problem on FreeX10 beta 1. Its not such a biggy but it just kinda annoys the eye.

I also noticed that the gradientish view also applies on an app ,which is called TTPod ,the gradients can be viewed on the album collection thingies it has.

You should probably post this as a bug in FreeX10 thread or send a PM to Z. Maybe he doesn't know about it so he can't fix it. It looks like it hasn't been posted in FreeX10 topic yet, because searching for "gradient" gave me no relevant posts.

I have never had this issue have you tried a different wallpaper. Also sounds simple but have you tried rebooting your phone?
If not i had a different glitch and a hard reset did it for me. This also seems to be working for other people with different bugs ? Not ideal i know but probably worth a try?
Here is what i do, as my issue with the way that you are setting is that they dont crop right and end up magnified way to much.
1 - open my gallery
2 - pick my folder, then picture for wallpaper
3 - hit menu and SET PICTURE AS
4 - it will ask you what app you want to set it with(Picspeed is a good to do this with)
5 - will have 3 option, wide, full, and portrait
6 - save it/set it and you should not have that problem anymore i would think
hope this helps, but that PICSPEED app is great for SETTING wallpapers, i dont use it for the wallpapers it offers, just to set them.

I have the same problem. Something is wrong with the samsung gallery app. You can only set pictures for non Scrolling Wallpaper home screen. When I use external app like Zedge to set my wallpaper everything is ok (same picture, with the same resolution).
What Launcher are you using? I use Nova Launcher and Wallpaper Setter and everything works fine for scrolling wallpapers.
As of right now, the only wallpapers will scroll with Touchwiz, are the ones that came with the phone.
I'm using Nova launcher too, I tried the Wallpaper Setter app still no go...
This is the way I'm trying to choose wallpaper:
1. Open Samsung Gallery.
2. Choose one of the pictures folder.
3. Choose a picture.
4. Options>>Set picture as...
5. Then I have the popup in the attached print screen.
6. I choose the third option "Home screen wallpaper"
7. Then I get the crop screen with limitation to the frame you see in the next attached print screen.
EDIT:
Just figured out that I have to choose Wallpaper Setter from the home screen wallpaper option, so it works
Thanks

Try Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Personally I like Nova better, but they both pretty much do the same thing.
Much more control over the look and feel of your device.
I have the same problem as well, no matter what I do I can only set a single portrait for the wallpaper (and then get black clipping when I move). I tried in touchwiz and NovaLauncher (my main launcher)
I only got my phone a few hours ago so I'll wait a few days before flashing a newer rom in case that fixes it (I'm on BLE6)
All I know is Wallpaper Setter solved the problem for me. Just make sure your wallpapers are 1440 x 1280.

Play store. Search for wallpaper setter. Its the 2nd option. Then change the wallpaper as previously noted in this thread by Baldi.
yup same here. I go to gallery and select my saved folder and select a pic to put as wallpaper..the crop thing appears and i lose a lot of the pic. If i select the pics from my camera folder it selects the whole picture
I use two have the same problems when I change the touchwz to Nova launcher
To solve this problem is very easy
1- open the play store and search for an app called quickpic and download it
2- after finishing installing the app run the nove launcher you will still see the same thing things is happening * don't not panic * jk =p
3-open the gallery chose any wallpaper then option button set as wallpaper it will ask you which app to use
Just use quickpic and chose the size of the wallpaper you want and then set
That's all if hope this will be useful
Anyways good luck and I'm sorry for my bad English =)
I have same problem, and all above solutions have been tried, I'm currently on latest Resurection rom, and it seems it is running a 'virtual' higher resolution,i have some 800x400 wallpapers and it gets zoomed in and looks all weird, any one with a developer feedback that can answer the questions to this problem.
And all is working correct in stock rom
I've added some pictures, the correct image as it should be seen on the phone, and one as it looks on the phone

How's it going, gentlemen? This has been here for 2 weeks and no one has posted a picture of what it looks like, so I took the liberty upon myself. As there is no screenshot function in TWRP that I am aware of, they are taken with my original Incredible, so they're slightly blurry, but you get the general idea.
As shown below, this UI includes the HTC logo in the top left, and all menus look nice in a horizontal column. However, I fear that those who have large fingers will have a difficult time selecting which menu they want to go to, as they're all in such close proximity. I also included the Wipe screen, to show how close everything is there, as well. Remember, you do have to confirm any wipe, so having large fingers isn't a bad thing as long as you notice that you clicked the wrong thing to wipe. Also, as shown in the first picture, every screen has the on-screen keys compacted and made to look nicer, but larger fingers will not prevail. You can always use the capacitive buttons on your phone, which provide haptic feedback in recovery, while the on-screen ones don't.
Overall, I think it's a nice overlay to an otherwise dull and dreary user interface, though I wish the size of the buttons was a little larger.

Re: HTC TWRP Theme
Just realized the download link is dead I'll get it fixed tomorrow. If you've tried to download it with no avail I'm sorry I'll post an updated version and re post when I get it up.
It's not a glitch, this isn't Wreck it Ralph.

Looks pretty sweet:good:

I changed a few .PNG images in the theme folder to some of my own, and it worked when I opened twrp.
Of course, for my own personal phone and will not distribute...

Might be too busy for most people's taste, but I was just playing around.
Thanks for your original clean HTC theme!
I downloaded MultiPicure Live Wallpaper, and it doesn't work as far as scrolling on my note 2. I am using Nova Launcher and Jelly Beans Build 10 rom. It keeps repeating the same image over and over each screen. I believe I am doing all of the correct settings, so please let me know if I am not.

I am having the same problem.
The hell of it is, I downloaded the free version and it was working fine. After I paid it worked fine as well, then it stopped.
I didn't notice the "it has problems with the Galaxy series" warning until after I paid - even then I didn't think it was a big deal because it was working at that point.
I have the Sprint GS3, Carbon 1.3, Nova Prime.
It would be great if it could work again.

I'm thinking you have to cut the image up and set the individual screens, which does still work. Just not the one piece wallpaper.
My problem is not scrolling.
It is that individual desktop areas display only one picture, despite having set individual pictures for each desktop.
I realize this is different than the original poster's problem of the loss of scrolling. I don't think MPW does scrolling on a single image, though. I thought the point was many images.

That is weird indeed. MPW allows me to set the individual pictures for each screen and that does work. However, it is also supposed to allow you to also do one single picture across all the screens which I know Samsung had disabled but I know certain ROMs have the wallpaper scrolling in effect.
It's possible it has something to do with Nova as well. When I first loaded the rom onto my Note 2, I had the wallpaper scroll and had turned it off because it was rather annoying me at the time, now it no longer works, no matter what I do or what options I choose.
Solved. Download Wallpaper Setter. Worked like a charm
I'm trying my darndesnt to change my lock screen wallpaper on nexus 4. Multipicture and Nova Launcher wallpaper function do not work the same when it comes to crops. So annoying.
If I could change my wallpaper via adb or something that would be awesome, or if at least Multipicture would crop the same way Nova or Wallpaper setter crops I'd at least be somewhat happy.
Don't want a replacement lock screen, just want to change a lock screen wallpaper!
If it makes you feel any better. I changed from multipicture to a static wallpaper, and the app stopped working for me completely. Can't get the screens to change or scroll.
[Edit] I was finally able to get it. I ended up having to remove the cache and then it started working like a charm.

I tried clearing the cache AND data, and then I did the whole thing over again. Still doesn't work -_-
Just so weird because it worked for like a month ago.

Cant launche MPLW :/
When i go to set wallpaper on my xperia z 6603 I don't have the option to use MPLW for some reason :S
only quickpic, ES3 and Xperia wallpaper..
Maybe I've deleted the .apk file for live wallpaper ? i dont know.. has any one experienced the same problem ?
I use Nova launcher btw.

hy.you use the go launcher and everything will work (SG note 2)
Meh.. I have the same problem with MP Live. I had it installed for a few weeks but just got around to trying it yesterday. I couldn't specify different wallpapers for each home page screen. gave up and uninstalled it.
But it left my main home screen animated wallpaper running across all 6 homescreens whereas before the other 5 screens had a static image.
hmmm..annoying..can't seem to fix it !
I had done a TWRP full system (all 7 partitions) backup 2 days previously so I thought why not restore the lot - that should guarantee a fix !
So I did, but no fix !!! Go figure !
Can anyone explain that ?
My problem with Multipicture Live Wallpaper was that it just couldn't apply. Since I have set Nova Launcher to Scrolling Wallpaper "enabled" everything is being buttery smooth =)
Hope it helps
P.S. Look at that video it helps understanding the options of the apk : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BUwpoDmvUe8#t=477
Yeah what I think would fix all of your guys problems is you have to have 'Wallpaper Scrolling' ENABLED (FORCED, IF NECESSARY) in your launcher application (Nova, Apex, Go, ETC) and make sure it is working on ONE wallpaper before trying it with the multi-picture live wallpaper app... ALSO i was having a similar issue where even after I did that, it never worked... So here's multiple solutions to try:
1. Make sure Wallpaper Scrolling is ENABLED and WORKING in launcher
2. Make sure you have NO COMMON PICTURE SETTINGS in multipicture live wallpaper, if you are not sure how to reset this, just go and FORCE STOP and CLEAR APP DATA in manage apps
3. Set options for however many screens you have... for example if you have 3 Home screens make sure in your M.P.L.W. app you have added 3 screen settings, and set them all seperately.
4. It might be the reolusition of the photo (or ONE of the photos) you are trying to apply... since this app does not come with any cropping, editing function, etc unfortunately, you need to make sure all wallpapers are compatible with your phones resolution.
5. last, but not least, make sure that the application is located on PHONE and not on your SD CARD in manage apps
If you have done ALL OF THESE and it is still not working... I dont know what else to tell you. Look for youtube videos/etc... ?? anyway, I HOPE THIS HELPS Happy androiding. :good:
Hello guys! It's me again doing some crazy stuff for a "dead" device
I managed to get an almost fully functional UltraSmoothRosie. That's right. There's only one single bug.
So:
BUGS
Pinch to zoom out force closes the launcher, use home button instead
Top bar icons are stretched and "All Apps", "Personalize" and "Add" ICONS are not visible (the buttons work)
The edit menu (when you longpress an icon or widget) is stretched in landscape mode (use portrait for removing/editing)
Previews when moving items are often wrongly placed, but the actual moving process works just fine
Wallpaper is aligned incorrectly
Homescreen indicator (the white bar that moves when you scroll) is not visible
Leap view (previews of the five homescreens) is all messed up
Previews of the homescreen in the Personalize Menu have icons and widgets aligned incorrectly
Give it a spin, and tell me if you can find any quirk/detail/bug. And if you download it and actually use/like it, click the thanks button

Just flash it in CWM, no wipes required.
Another minor mod, that I made playing around with the M10Tools is a modification to the HTC Lockscreen to remove the bottom bar and the circles around the icons to accomplish a cleaner (Sense 4 like) look.

So, yesterday I looked into the UltraSmooth Rosie mod for many HTC handsets, and I noticed the Jetstream has one, so I decided to try it out on my Flyer (a long shot, I know). It worked, but the top navbar had sizing issues, which made it impossible to access "All Apps", "Personalize" and "Add" menus. Plus, when trying to delete an object from the screen, I noticed the "Remove" icon was offscreen too, so I could not remove stuff. A blazing fast, lagfree, and pretty useless launcher.
So i took M10 tools and started resizing what I thought was what I needed to, and the outcome was almost perfect. I still can't work out the png's sizing (they are exactly in the same place, but the actual FUNCTIONAL icons are moved where you can reach them, so the launcher is pretty much 100% functional. And believe me: it's damn smooth.

I will try my best to iron out the present bugs so we can have a proper, fully working UltraSmooth Rosie.

It's really nice compared to the stock one.
Can you also upload the stock Rosie, in case we want to go back?
Restarted the Flyer today and I'm having force closes since then. Can't enter the launcher at all.
Any solutions?

Try wiping cache and dalvik and reflashing mod, that didn't ever happen to me
Any progress on those last few bugs?

I have been very busy lately but I managed to understand the logic behind HTC's Rosie layout. I fixed the positioning for all items for portrait, and landscape should be an easy process. The problem is I don't know how to fix the pinch to zoom out or the previews. But I can live with that. Maybe tomorrow I find some time to fix landscape and upload version 0.9. Cheers
All (except for ***** to zoom) fixed!
OP updated with version 1.0. All bugs but pinch to zoom fixed.
I installed the mod today and i Like it. Please fix the Last Bug and i will love it
I am going to be honest with you: I have absolutely no clue on how to do it. I think the way to fix it is SMALI editing, and that is a field I have no knowledge of. It would be pretty cool if we could get a real dev to take a look at it.
Did you try asking @hamdir? He should know a thing or two about that and maybe he can explain.
Tried installing it again on my Flyer and after boot I get continuous force close. Any suggestions on why?
Using a Flyer Wi-Fi.

Which ROM are you running? Did you try wiping and reflashing?
I was running a the stock rooted ROM. I tried with another ROM and it works again.
What I don't like is the animation in the app drawer when scrolling through app pages. It's a bit jerky.
It always was, as far as I reckon. HTC really did a crappy job at programming HC Rosie. It has so many flaws
The stock one has less that this one.
