Hello guys! It's me again doing some crazy stuff for a "dead" device
I managed to get an almost fully functional UltraSmoothRosie. That's right. There's only one single bug.
So:
BUGS
Pinch to zoom out force closes the launcher, use home button instead
Top bar icons are stretched and "All Apps", "Personalize" and "Add" ICONS are not visible (the buttons work)
The edit menu (when you longpress an icon or widget) is stretched in landscape mode (use portrait for removing/editing)
Previews when moving items are often wrongly placed, but the actual moving process works just fine
Wallpaper is aligned incorrectly
Homescreen indicator (the white bar that moves when you scroll) is not visible
Leap view (previews of the five homescreens) is all messed up
Previews of the homescreen in the Personalize Menu have icons and widgets aligned incorrectly
Give it a spin, and tell me if you can find any quirk/detail/bug. And if you download it and actually use/like it, click the thanks button

Just flash it in CWM, no wipes required.
Another minor mod, that I made playing around with the M10Tools is a modification to the HTC Lockscreen to remove the bottom bar and the circles around the icons to accomplish a cleaner (Sense 4 like) look.

So, yesterday I looked into the UltraSmooth Rosie mod for many HTC handsets, and I noticed the Jetstream has one, so I decided to try it out on my Flyer (a long shot, I know). It worked, but the top navbar had sizing issues, which made it impossible to access "All Apps", "Personalize" and "Add" menus. Plus, when trying to delete an object from the screen, I noticed the "Remove" icon was offscreen too, so I could not remove stuff. A blazing fast, lagfree, and pretty useless launcher.
So i took M10 tools and started resizing what I thought was what I needed to, and the outcome was almost perfect. I still can't work out the png's sizing (they are exactly in the same place, but the actual FUNCTIONAL icons are moved where you can reach them, so the launcher is pretty much 100% functional. And believe me: it's damn smooth.
So:

It's really nice compared to the stock one.
Can you also upload the stock Rosie, in case we want to go back?
Restarted the Flyer today and I'm having force closes since then. Can't enter the launcher at all.
Any solutions?

Any progress on those last few bugs?

I have been very busy lately but I managed to understand the logic behind HTC's Rosie layout. I fixed the positioning for all items for portrait, and landscape should be an easy process. The problem is I don't know how to fix the pinch to zoom out or the previews. But I can live with that. Maybe tomorrow I find some time to fix landscape and upload version 0.9. Cheers
All (except for ***** to zoom) fixed!
OP updated with version 1.0. All bugs but pinch to zoom fixed.
I installed the mod today and i Like it. Please fix the Last Bug and i will love it
I am going to be honest with you: I have absolutely no clue on how to do it. I think the way to fix it is SMALI editing, and that is a field I have no knowledge of. It would be pretty cool if we could get a real dev to take a look at it.
Did you try asking @hamdir? He should know a thing or two about that and maybe he can explain.
Tried installing it again on my Flyer and after boot I get continuous force close. Any suggestions on why?

Which ROM are you running? Did you try wiping and reflashing?
I was running a the stock rooted ROM. I tried with another ROM and it works again.
What I don't like is the animation in the app drawer when scrolling through app pages. It's a bit jerky.
It always was, as far as I reckon. HTC really did a crappy job at programming HC Rosie. It has so many flaws
The stock one has less that this one.

REQUIREMENTS
CM6.1 for the HTC Legend
CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip courtesy of Sympnotic - Download provided below.
LauncherPro (Recommended) OR Gingerbread Launcher
*** NOTE: Gingerbread Launcher 3D Free does not work on the Legend.
Icons (if using LauncherPro) courtesy of Benny879 @ the LauncherPro Forum - Download provided below.
Gingerbread Keyboard by Fabolous @ Droid Forums
LCDDensity
Livewallpaper from Gingerbread
*** NO METAMORPH REQUIRED!
STEPS
*** DO A BACKUP FIRST!!!
Flash CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip
Select STOCK_Black theme in CM settings. (User interface --> Tweak Extras)
Flash the keyboard and select Android Keyboard in text input.
Open up LCDDensity and set to 240 then restart.
Open up LCDDensity again, set to 160 (default), and restart again (this is to fix the unusually small size of the new keyboard).
Use the icons to give the LauncherPro dock the Gingerbread look. DO NOT FLASH THE ICON ZIP FILE just extract it and customize through the LauncherPro menu. Alternatively, you can use the Gingerbread Launcher in the Market, but it does not have support for a 3D app drawer.
Set wallpaper to "Nexus" live wallpaper.
BUGS
Rebooting the phone will cause the keyboard to return to its small state again. You'll have to repeat steps 4 & 5 to correct it.
After flashing the theme from Sympnotic, the CM theme options may appear as a blank menu with one checked radio next to it. Check it again, leave the menu, go back, and STOCK_Black should be there.
After flashing CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip I got stuck at the Cyanogenmod boot screen. I had to power it down then power it back up for it to properly boot. Everything was fine after.
"Add Call" button appears lower than the "End" and "Dialpad" buttons (See Post #5). Flash CM6.1-Gingertheme.v6.1.LEGEND.zip to fix. Thanks to Sympnotic.
MISSING FEATURES
New live wallpaper as seen on the Nexus S. Fake Nexus S live wallpaper added!
Official Nexus S live wallpaper.
Orange colour burst when reaching the end of a menu.
Sleep animation.

I'm just trying to learn this stuff too. Right now I'm relying on Sympnotic for the theme and I'm not sure if there are any plans for a transparent version. Maybe in the future if I can figure it out myself.

No and no. I didn't create the required files mentioned in the first post. All I did was flash/install the required items, made sure everything worked, then posted exactly how I did it. I'm still in the process of learning about how to properly use the SDK, so I've been relying on more advanced users' work.
That doesn't mean that it isn't zipaligned or signed, I just don't know since I didn't make it. Why? Are you experiencing slower performance?

Hi, I did the theme, and no, i'm not signing or zipaligning it, I'm too lazy to do that as I'm always replacing things at the last moment before flashing and testing it, but I'm moving files from .zip to .zip to prevent issues concerning signing.
Properly recompiled (w/o errors) framework-res.apk using apktool (supposedly fake signed) gives me bootloops.
I'll grab the fake-sign java thing just in case and will find some infos about it.

Hello everyone,
A while ago I was reading a thread about the LG Home launcher ported to the EVO (Link). I really liked the launcher so I gave it a try on my Apollo, of course it didn't work as it should have.
So I asked aalopez10 if I could try and make it work for our Apollo's. He replied with a yes.
So I grabbed the latest version of APKTool and went editing.
The launcher
The launcher had 2 problems, the appdrawer (still not fixed) and the dock.
The dock is fixed in this version and I also added the home selector apk which is needed if you want to use that function in the home settings.

The Widgets
I also ported some of the widgets, first of all the Memo widget.
This one is fully working, as far as I'm concerned.
The images or videos may look weird in editing mode, but everything works perfectly.
The Working Memo widget.
The World Clock widget is working after reworking some code.
If you need daylight savings time, touch the little clock next to the city name in the settings menu. (You can get to the settings menu by touching the widget)
The World Clock widget.
The Analog Clock widget hasn't changed from the original rip, but still works on our devices.
You can select 1 of 8 clocks and use them in your widget.
The Calendar widget is also working, but it won't sync with your agenda(I will look into this later).
The Calendar widget.
You can download all of these widgets at the end of the thread.
Downloads
Latest version of the launcher, this version still has the open spacing in the appdrawer categories: Launcher
All the widgets mentioned in this thread: Widgets
PM me if you want to help or if you want to know how I did it or something.

Tried it
Awesome launcher, thanks for port, i will analyze and I will comment on the bugs.
(Sorry for my english)
Thanks, please do report bugs and I will try to fix them.
Right now working on the appDrawer.
Good work, the launcher runs great exept some bugs:
When I try to change Home selector in Home settings I've got "Force close of LG Home"
In the number screen menu "OK button" is too bigger than "Cancel button"
I can send you 2 links with better quality image of your launcher if you want.

A lot of the little changes I made were in the .smali files. I used Notepad++ to change some of the values so it worked. You have to look for names(they usually give a hint of what they are) and if the value starts with 0x, I found out the numbers behind it are hexadecimal which were open for change. I also had a lot of use on this site, it gave me information about the Icons.
I will post a more detailed log on how I did it (maybe a seperate guide)after I have everything working.

Whats wrong with your posts? There is text (on top of) overwriting text, hard to read
The hidden dock bar was removed from adw ex (and I would guess regular adw as well) in the last update. I wish the dev would bring it back, but according to him the vast majority of users prefer the single dock bar setup he has gone to...

I really could not stand the hidden dock bar... I kept bringing it up on accident. I believe there was an option in the last version that had it though that allowed for it to be disabled? I see no reason why it should not be included, but I would prefer it be disabled by default.

Hidden as it is here ...
No sir, if you read the OP well you'll see what i am missing is the ability to chose from the "Main" Dock & the hidden dock. And the ability to transition from one to the other. Not to make the dock dissappear altogether.
Sorry.
Haven't used ADW enough to know that was a feature.

Amplified, I have a semi-workaround at the moment. I am using circle launcher as a hidden dock for the apps I used to put in ADW hidden dock. I keep a pretty clean home screen, so I set it up dead center of the screen, and set a custom transparent icon for the launcher. Closed, there is nothing visible, but one tap to open and I have about 14 apps right there. You might be able to do similar with wave launcher as well, but I haven't messed with that in quite a while...

Thanks brother. Very kind of you to offer a suggestion of that sort.
Cheers!
I miss the hidden dock too...
I'm a new user of EX, since the 10c discount.
But because of that kind of things, I still don't have set any of the as "default" when I hit the home button...
and worst.. most of the time I'm using ADW, not Ex.. thinking "come on jump to EX"... and when I try.. it's to discover there is no hidden dock anymore...
Yes, I know, nobody cares...
I second using Circle Launcher or Wave as an alternative. I saw this hidden dock feature in the video and thought it might replace wave launcher for me, and then was going crazy thinking I was missing something in settings. Too bad he didn't leave it as an option and just include a disable possibility.
Anyway, I have used circle launcher on my main homescreen much in the same way as described by the other member. But I also use Wave launcher and what's great about it is that it is accessible from any screen even when you have another app open. (If you use WidgetLocker as your lockscreen, then it's even accessible on that.) And it's entirely invisible and unlike Circle launcher no one could even accidentally discover it if they didn't know the gesture you set up for it.
Anyway, maybe the hidden bar will show back up as something you can enable or disable.
I love Wave Launcher in conjunction with Launcher Pro. I absolutely love being able to scroll through three sets of five icon docks at the bottom of any one of my home screens. I guess this is why we all love Android, there's pretty much something for everyone as far as customizations go.
I will be continually adding to them and Porting them to ROMs as they come and i Get time time port.
BUILT for DESENSED-ISH ICS 3.5 - 3.8
Haven't tested with 4.0 but you may lose some of Tachi's features/fixes.
First Off, Thanks to:
scrosler and Tachi = ROM
gogodu5sU = Nexus mods (used as reference)
fernando sor = Guide to Decompile framework-res and systemui
Dr. Carpenter = MODed Trebuchet launcher, and references
I have successfully enabled the navbar at the bottom of the screen. I have also worked to remap the buttons that are contained in the navbar.
That is the most apparent mod, although i have gone through and enabled (and disabled) some things to make the phone work as i would like it to.
List of what is included:
-Nav Bar
*remapped to have Power - Back - Home - Recent - Menu
-shrunk navbar to save space
-enabled 360 degree rotation in apps (and launcher - must enable it in your launcher)
-enabled rotation on the LockScreen (might take it out, its kinda glitchy)
-included the CM9 Trebuchet Launcher - ICS stock launcher with added functionality
-menu key bypasses slider unlock (will not by pass secure locks)

MODS
So the MODs i was working on ended up becoming a new ROM based of Newts 4.0.3 Senseless ROM, here is a link to it, check it out if you so desire
Kanged Senseless
Issues:
The main issue i have noticed is that the background of the bar will sometimes be covered by other images that are rendered by the phone. that is not noticeable in most cases except the fact that the background does not seem to refresh, therefore the images stay down there and cause the bar to render incorrectly, the buttons will still work.
In most cases the way i fix it when this happens is to go back to the home screen and open the app drawer (only in stock ICS and trebuchet launcher) this will clear the images out.
if that does not work, i also can open an app and turn the phone sideways, rotates the screen, then press the home button again and the bar should be fixed.
This main issue i believe is related to the other rendering glitches we see (blurry status bar text, blue flashes) and will most likely be fixed when those issues are fixed.
Planned Updates:
-1% battery increments
-clock in middle of status bar
-theme navbar icons
*Also will be porting to other ICS ROMs
Changelog:
2-12-2012
-added support to Ineffabilis (slightly different features)
1/27/2012
-Initial release
This is cool, but it just wastes space unfortunately.

It kinda does, but the stock launchers are pretty spread out so you don't notice it much. i have search, back, home, menu and lock screen in it now. but i can put just about any function in the phone into it i'm pretty sure, i have to play with that a lil more tonight.
but you are right, i'm sure that's why no one has done it yet, its not a hard mod lol
I wonder if there is a way to code a news ticker in there or something? Like the Samsung continuum

That would be pretty sweet, i can try to find the continuum source and see if i can figure out how it works.
also there is a launcher in the droidx forums that shrinks the dock to keep it right up close to the nav buttons, i'm going to see if that will install on the rezound ok and if not, i'll try to figure out how he did it and add it in
That will save space some
found here:

the continum has a whole separate screen. But it would be cool if we could partition it to do that.

Does this CM9 Launcher work 100%? When I used it on 4.0.1, it didn't work, and I wanna know if this is 4.0.3.

This is an old version of the launcher and it works fine. Some of the customization doesn't. But the launcher itself works very well. And you get a couple customization like rotation and taking the search thing off.

Oh. I guess I'll settle for this haha. Btw, is there anyway to turn off the softkeys? If I'm going to use the on-screen keys, I don't see a point in having the softkeys turned on.

I am going to look into at least turning off the lights... I don't know that it would be best to get rid of their functionality in case the mod doesn't work hahah
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
I love this mod. Turning off the softkey lights would be great, but I also have another idea for a mod:
A mod that turns the softkey search button into a recent apps button.
I know that holding the home button takes you to the recent apps, but it's annoying how long it takes. I personally don't use the search button ever, and would not miss it at all. And maybe for those who do use the search button: make the search button recent apps, but long press it for search.

Well the mod has the recent apps button, i didn't put the search into the nav bar, ran out of room... haha so if you are running the mod, why would use the softkeys? when the recent apps buttons is right there on the Navbar?

Haha... Sorry... My suggestion was for a totally separate mod that would not have a nav bar and mod the softkeys. It would not be used at the same time as this mod.

okey dokey still workin ok.
How's it going, gentlemen? This has been here for 2 weeks and no one has posted a picture of what it looks like, so I took the liberty upon myself. As there is no screenshot function in TWRP that I am aware of, they are taken with my original Incredible, so they're slightly blurry, but you get the general idea.
As shown below, this UI includes the HTC logo in the top left, and all menus look nice in a horizontal column. However, I fear that those who have large fingers will have a difficult time selecting which menu they want to go to, as they're all in such close proximity. I also included the Wipe screen, to show how close everything is there, as well. Remember, you do have to confirm any wipe, so having large fingers isn't a bad thing as long as you notice that you clicked the wrong thing to wipe. Also, as shown in the first picture, every screen has the on-screen keys compacted and made to look nicer, but larger fingers will not prevail. You can always use the capacitive buttons on your phone, which provide haptic feedback in recovery, while the on-screen ones don't.
Overall, I think it's a nice overlay to an otherwise dull and dreary user interface, though I wish the size of the buttons was a little larger.

It's not a glitch, this isn't Wreck it Ralph.
