hi guys,
i have tried to change my system fonts from /system/fonts/ with
the app font changer or something similar, but when i reboot all my fonts return normal! u_U
so, this time, i reboot on recovery and changed them from recovery with aroma, great,
but!
on reboot, phone doesn't start! it stops on boot screen "htc quietly brilliant" .
i put back the original system fonts, and i started again...
so i think it found something wrong on boot routine,
what i have to do?
maybe it's necessary to wipe cache or something else?
thank you
Cache probably, yes

Weird... What font did you try?
You can't change system files and setup when phone is turned on, you can but it will get back to stock after reboot because of system writE protection implemented by HTC.
If you can do it from recovery it will remain after reboot.

Hi
I get this message after installing the zip file of my rom, it just stays this way(its stuck), any help?
exact same problem here...waiting for the solution, too =/
You guys need to make sure you clear your data/cache/dalvik in recovery before you flash the ROM.
It gets stuck because you probably didn't get rid of all the data in the previous ROM, so the phone can't possibly proceed.
So take the battery out, reboot the phone into recovery by holding val (the button on the way left) + volume up + home + power while it is powering up. Then clear data (factory reset), cache, and dalvik cache. After that, flash the ROM again and you should be good to go.
THANKS Works Great

Are you on CM7? It seems like a lot of people are having trouble flashing boot logos after switching for some reason.
Anyways, just try taking the logo.bin out of the zip and flashing it through fastboot the command is
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
its a little less convenient but it should work
Could it be an issue with the incompatible with the recovery you have. When I was trying to piece together a CWM zip file to change a logo that was of of the things that was interfering. That might not be the case here but just thought I might throw my 2 cents.

That is for boot animation, not boot logo. The logo is the m with dual core underneath it.

I am running what's listed in my sig.
In the innefabillis ROM in Mik tweaks, there is an option to totally remove the boot animation to speed it up drastically.
I did this weeks ago, but I don't see that it really speeded it up at all. It says to reflash the ROM to get it back. Can I just wipe cache and davlik and flash the ROM over the top of my current setup without losing all my current setup??

If the script just deletes the boot animation file you could just pull that from your ROM zip file and put it back if you really want it back. Otherwise you could probably just flash right over top without even wiping.

If it is the same Rom you are able to just flash over it. But I would backup your data as some roms wipe data automatically

And just something that might be easier is that if you have a backup of that Rom you can just do advanced restore of system. But the boot animation is setup in an xml in /system/etc/customize. I believe it is a file called default.xml in mns or cid folder. The entry is at the bottom. If you replaced boot animation and it didn't.work they probably edited the xml too and that's why replacing the zip file didn't work

LOL, well I tried reflashing the ROM without clearing anything & when it was done it had put everything back to a brand new flash of the ROM which is exactly what I didn't want.
All my apps where gone, my two themes where gone etc. No big deal, I restored an Amona Ra BU & five minutes later it was fine again.
I don't mind redoing the whole system at all, but at this point I am waiting on an official release of ICS & all the themes ported over etc before I do that.....
my phone wont turn on!!! i mean it'll go to the part where it says "HTC quietly brilliant" but its just stuck there...then i would the press the power button again and it'll just do the same thing. SOMEONE PLZZZ HELP!
Need more information. Did you flash anything recently? Are you S-OFF? Can you access recovery? Did you try to run the RUU or reflash the ROM?

its S-ON, yes i can access recovery, the only thing i did was try to change the font using Font Installer then it rebooted after that it would go on HTC quietly brilliant logo then blacked off, i hold the power button but it did the same thing over n over again for an hour. So i thought if i factory reset it it would fix the problem but i think i made it worse cause now its just stuck on HTC quietly brilliant logo, I left it there for couple of hours and went out hoping when i get back a miracle would happen and it'll be fix but when i got home its still stuck on that logo. I still can access recovery though. This is my very first rooted phone and i have no idea what to do next.

If you can still access recovery, into recovery and to a factory reset and wupe you cache and you should be set
Edit: You should try flashing a different Rom see if that works

What recovery are you using, TWRP? Had you flashed a ROM prior to tinkering with fonts? Did you make a full backup of your stock ROM after HTC unlocking to load your recovery? I am going to make some assumptions to my questions. If you are using TWRP you can mount the sdcard from recovery and copy on another ROM (pick one to use ... MeanROM?). Even if you can't mount the sdcard from recovery you can still get a ROM on to your phone by pulling sdcard2 from the external sdcard slot and manually mounting/copying to/from your CPU.
If you made a backup of your stock rom after loading your recovery then the first thing to try is wiping everything (factory, caches, etc...) and restore the backup. (Sounds like you may have tried that already).
If that does not work then download a different ROM and try it ... MeanROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727167) uses it's own splash at start so that may help (because it sounds like you are stuck at the HTC splash).

When you get in recovery wipe cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, system. Then reflash the rom, you will be fine.

It seems to be that some people are having problems with flashing other fonts (source). ALWAYS do a nandroid backup before doing any of these types of modifications to your phone in the future, it's the fastest way to fix broken things. Also make sure that the fonts you are trying to install have been working with our phones and the newest versions of Android and/or Sense.
Here are some things you can do that might fix your bootloop. In descending order try these:
If you have a current Nandroid backup, restore it. It will get your phone working 100% with the least amount of data loss and won't require you to set it all up again.
Re-flash the same ROM you have (if it's stock, it can also be found in the Android Dev section of the forum). This will likely fix the problem. Especially if it's a font issue.
Hope it doesn't come to this but run the RUU that matches your system. This will completely set your phone back to day 1. You'll have to reroot, etc.
Best of luck. And remember to do nandroids often! :good:
THANK YOU GUYS!!!! i was about to give up
i did what you guys told me to do, download a different rom install it on my sdcard and flash it in recovery. AGAIN thank you guys so much, ya'll just made my day. MUCH APPRECIATED!!!
Anytime you can access recovery you are fine

Good morning XDA ...
I have a problem in removing bloatwares from my HTC One S, i have an HTC One S "S4 Ville Model" with Stock 4.1.1 and ROOTED with TWRP as a Custom Recovery, i have installed Titanium Backup and i ended up removing some bloatwres like : 7Digital, Lookout ... ,it's OK they had gone away, but when i Reboot my Device they came back !!!
So is there any way to fix That !!!?
Cordially.
Ok for it to stay deleted, you will need to boot into recovery and wipe cache, dalvik and just for kicks, fix permissions after uninstalling/removing.Then your aggrevating apps should be gone now.Always make sure to back everything up first.

Thanks for the help, but one question do i need to wipe cache and dalvik before or after removing bloatwares ?.
After you remove the apps,so you clear all the garbage out of the folders. So it does'nt reappear again.
