What does Windows Phone 7 Connector back up in Mac ? Does it store everything including text messages?
My Lumia 800 phone broke, so if I get a new one, can I transfer the contents from the latest backup to the new phone?
If not then, is there any program that can let me view the backup's contents - read the contacts, read my SMS, edit my photos/videos?
I have version 2.02 with OS X 10.8.2 and Lumia 800

i tried several times with wmdc and i found 0 contacts in my pc !!! is there an easier way to backup my contacts on a pc ( i'm using w7 x 64)?
i want to copy the contacts from the sim card because i have them allready in my phone memory.

1. i tried outlook but i can't save the vcf file on my pc. maybe i'm doing it wrong

i just updated my lumia 800 to windows 7.8 via navifirm & nokia care suit (i used firmware file for my product code only)

after update i removed nokia care suit
then i tried connecting it to the zune player so that I can sync it but it consistently says
"zune software can't access important data on your device......"
i tried it again n again but with no success.
then i removed zune as well & removed every traces from c drive & some crypto folder from appdata & downloaded a fresh copy of zune from official website.
then i searched the forum & got one post saying you should remove "win usb x64 drivers" i tried finding it in programs installed(in control panel)
but couldn't find it

but it says the same error...is it some problem with my phone due to flashing?
I need to recover the WhatsApp Chats from my wifes old Lumia 610, which is on WP 7.8 and has no sd card slot. Is there any way to connect the Lumia 610 to my PC and searching the file system?

Hi Daniel, this is my first post, im not an expert on windows phones just yet but im sure if you jailbreak your device then you will have permissions to access all of your phone files through PC, im currently using an Huawei w1 U-00 8.1 and i can access whatsapp chats , make sure you read carefully on how to jailbreak your lumia 610 as you could damage your phone permanently.

Hi guys changed phone cause my Honor 10 was broken sent back to amazon, I have a backup with all photos and videos (think I made with Hisuite but not sure was years ago) on a pendrive but when I try to open any jpg,mp4, anything it gives me an error, looks like files are encrypted (I think). What can I do? I have all my photos and videos on this pendrive but I can not view them, I tried to import on my Mac with Hisuite (connecting an old Honor 6x) but can't open files neither. I don't know what to do. Suggestions?
ps: I don't think I used any kind of password, just regular backup
Found a solution by my self: You need Huawei phone. Connect the pendrive directly via USB adaptor to the Huawei phone,(in my case Honor 6x) and use the standard android backup app inside the phone to open the backup and extract files. Voilà. Hope can help anyone in the same situation I was. Cheers
