Hi
Anyone know where to find stock firmware for Xperia sola for Baltic region (Latvia)? Doesn't matter 2.3 or 4.0 Android.
The thing is week after going back to stock firmware (don't know what region, definitely not Baltic) from some custom roms my microphone stopped working. Phone now is not rooted and bootloader was never unlocked, so there shouldn't be any problems with warranty if I can find anywhere stock firmware for Baltic region, but unfortunately so far - no luck.
As much as i know you must use Central Europe version, right?

I already tried both of them, none of them is what I had before, both have some additional aps that I didn't have before.

A lot of people including myself have the problem with 2.1 where we cant send text messages longer than a single text.
But it says here that vodafone have worked with SE to fix the issue and have released an updated 2.1 firmware.
Is this firmware available yet for flashing? if it is where can i download it?
It tells you in the link you posted. Update/Repair using PC Companion.
But i have a rooted and unbranded phone with the nordic firmware. If i was to try and update i'd imagine PCC would not detect a vodafone firmware and not update to it... or that would not matter if SE have fixed all firmwares and not just done a vodafone fix, does anyone know? would PCC even work correctly with a flashed phone?

Sorry, from your OP it sounded like you were on vodaphone firmware already. The easiest way to flash it back to vodaphone is by the CDA change method as you are rooted.
see here:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711
you will need to change the codes to 1234-4579
Although as you were having problems with it on nordic firmware it would say to me that its not a firmware issue, more likely a network one but i'm no expert.
also, probably worth you keeping an eye on this thread, and PM Jeff-SEAnswers ...

Thanks mate
I dont think it's a network issue because other people have the same problem on all kinds of networks and in different countries.
I have a vodafone SIM but i've always had a unlocked/unbranded phone... what would happen if i tried to use PCC to put the new firmware on my phone without flashing back to my phones original firmware? and are all UK firmwares the same or would this one with the fix be specifically for vodafone?

Using the above method I linked to would install the newest Vodafone firmware (ie. The 'fixed' one in your link). It doesn't matter what firmware you are currently on. No, all UK firmwares are different, some will come with provider settings preinstalled, specific apps or features enabled/disabled depending on network. If you don't want to go back to branded try flashing to generic UK 2.1 using flash tool, thats what i'm on and I never had any text problems.
Think i'll just try flashing to the firmware you use and see if that fixes it... could you link me to the UK firmware you used? Cheers again!

X10i Generic UK - http://www.multiupload.com/TVLQVFW4OA
just put the files in the 'firmware' folder of flashtool then run it.
just wondering which version of the ics update is the best/most stable for me to install on my uk unbranded (3114) phone?
been waiting ages now, and interested in trying ics, but who knows when the official update will arrive for the uk
the nordic combined is the one that's reccommended in one of the stickied threads....anyone from the uk have any experience with this? or should i keep waiting for uk generic update?
There're no differences between different countries firmwares other than some bloatware apps, hence the version number is the same for all.
You can flash any of them, and it will work in your country.

Well yes the version its the same, but some firmwares have pre-installed garbage i will never use
For me the best right now (I have tested all of them XD...) its the LT26i_6.1.A.0.452_NCB.ftf Nordic Combined its the one i found "cleaner" than the other ones
Hi Guys
I have a SGSII, which I got in Hong Kong a couple of years ago. It came pre-installed with Stock Samsung Firmware ICS 4.0.3. I currently living in the UK and was wondering if I did a Firmware update using Kites, would it install you UK version of the firmware instead of the HK version?
If it's got the HK firmware/CSC on it, it will update to the latest for that region; where you are now is irrelevant, it reads the CSC info off the phone to determine what firmware to upgrade to, assuming there is a later firmware for that region.
But it's a moot point. Why would you use Kies for anything ? Flash whatever stock rom for whatever region you want with Odin.

To be honest, I am a noobie when it comes to the advanced aspects of android devices. So I've always followed the mantra of always following the manufacturer's instructions to the letter. Also I don't want to loose all my user data for my game of Asphalt g
Which firmware (Baltic or Nordic) I can install on my Generic Z2 bought from Sony Canada Directly?
Thanks
any generic firmware can be used on your device
I've read that as well. My question is why does Sony release numerous generic unbranded ftf files? What's the difference between Nordic generic unbranded ftf and say North American generic unbranded? And if there's no difference, why not just release one single universal generic unbranded ftf? Mind you I don't think North American ftf is rolled out yet.

ril and wifi/mobile data firmwarw is addapted for each region
(not to mind bloatware too)
Ahh. I wonder if that's what was causing me wifi and Data drops with 4.4.4. I was using North American unbranded (I'm in Canada) but I never did try any other unbranded regions.

It shouldn't effect WiFi cause it is same around the world. I was more concerned about LTE radio . I bought the phone directly from Sony so there minimum bloatware, weren't anything except the Sony apps and vine which I removed.
I installed the Nordic version everything seems good so far. Followed the following article

That's good to know at least.. What's the difference between that method and just downloading the ftf and flashing that though?

Nothing I think you are skipping the first two steps
1) Downloading the files from Sony servers
2) Creating the ftf file from that
This gives you choice downloading files for any region
Hi this may be a dumb question - how can I extract/preserve the current stock rom I have on the phone? Like a very few others here I have Xperia Ray ST18a, the North American version (not ST18i, international version) and I want to preserve the stock GB firmware of the phone. I can't find it anywhere online (only ST18i), in the past I flashed it using WotanServer but they seem to be outta the game now. The GB firmware is not available via Sony or XperiFlash anymore as it has been superseded by ICS.
