[Q] ROM without any MOD - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
i have question, Is there any ROM for SGS3 without modification? directly from google? Something like Nexus 7, I would like to completely clean ROM with no added software

yes! STOCK ROM.

I think you mean AOSP ROM. Try SuperNexus ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36138760) by Faryaab.

[Q] Updating to a Jelly Bean Custom Rom

Hi there!
I am wanting to update my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 but am worried about the process because of having installed a custom kernel previously (would this muck up installing a new custom rom I wonder..)
Please find attached a screenshot of the settings and please tell me what I should do (if anything needs done) before I flash a new custom rom.
Cheers!
if you're worried about kernels, then just flash stock kernel then flash a custom rom on it.

kk, could you provide me with a suitable stock kernel (or links to one) which will be compatible with the rom I have installed?
any stock kernel that is for jb will be fine.

I am on android version 4.0.4 (so technically not JellyBean). and its safe to flash a stock kernel for JB despite being on that version before I flash a custom rom?
Sorry for asking, get confused easily..
you should be fine updating with a custom kernel (as all roms flash a kernel as well). Just make sure you factory reset when moving from ics to JB as you will most likely encounter problems if you don't.

I would suggest flashing ICS stock kernel first if you're worried. I thought you were already on jb.

Easy
Reflash the stock ics ROM
And flash any custom ROM you want
Enjoy

How to root and flash the latest official samsung stock rom?

Hi, sorry for the question.
I am getting an S2 which comes with android 4 something, but with a rom that was modified by my cellular provider.
I really want an official stock rom.
Is there a simple and easy way to root and flash an official stock rom?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] official jellybean for s2

i have rooted my sgs2.. previously it was supported with kernel version xwlp7.. now i have changed its ROM to cm 10, jellybean 4.1.1.. and now it shows kernel version 3.0.36-cm-g1e9497f. i want to again change the rom to the official 4.1.2. how can i do it?
You'd be better off asking in the GS2 forums. However, there is no official 4.1.2 as yet. There is a leaked test build, which I'm on, but it's a bit buggy ans Samsung still haven't removed the eMMC bug from the stock kernel, so if you dont know what youre doing, which I suspect you dont, you can irreversibly break your phone
If you really want to install the test build though, just have a search for XXLSJ (the rom build).

[Q] CM ROMs

Sorry to ask this question. But I think it is allowed because I didn't ask What is best ROM. I searched for CM based stock ROM. No matter it is stock S2, S3, S4. All I found is stock based ROMs. Can anyone give me a line for CM10, stock based ROM?
Thanks in advance.

As CM is AOSP (and a different framework), the whole concept of a 'CM based stock rom' doesn't make a lot of sense does it ?

Maybe I ask the question wrongly. I show some low end phone has ported it. Ofcause porting full stock will be nearly impossible. I just need stock look and feel in CM ROM

its very difficult to merge the stock ui with CM roms as it is aosp......
even if someone successful to merge these then it is max probability that it might be a buggy rom......
but as said its difficult but not possible:good:

(SOVED) Can't seem to install custom rom without having camera failed

Seems that I can no longer flash custom roms. I am currently stuck on 4.3 uk stock rom.
I noticed everytime I flash a stock rom my camera will get the "warning camera failed" and black screen. Godd this is so frustrating!
Has anyone have issues like this? I have downgraded to even 4.1.2 stock roms and I won't have the camera issue. But when I put on a custom rom. Bam! My camera isnt working anymore
This blows!

Need a XXUGMJ9 Stock Kernel
I may get this sorted if i install a custom rom and then flash a stock kernel back. Problem is i searched everywhere for this kernel on its own to flash with CWM or Odin.. Does anyone have this kernel?
NVM GOT IT SOLVED~
