Seems that I can no longer flash custom roms. I am currently stuck on 4.3 uk stock rom.
I noticed everytime I flash a stock rom my camera will get the "warning camera failed" and black screen. Godd this is so frustrating!
Has anyone have issues like this? I have downgraded to even 4.1.2 stock roms and I won't have the camera issue. But when I put on a custom rom. Bam! My camera isnt working anymore
This blows!

Need a XXUGMJ9 Stock Kernel
I may get this sorted if i install a custom rom and then flash a stock kernel back. Problem is i searched everywhere for this kernel on its own to flash with CWM or Odin.. Does anyone have this kernel?
NVM GOT IT SOLVED~

Hi all,
I don't have time at the moment to flash a stock rom with Odin at the moment, so i was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a XXWLPG rom without Jkay?
I want to try out this s3 lock screen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742397
But I have to have either a LPG or LPM rom without Jkay to use it.
Does anyone know where I can get a cwm flasherble one from?
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Corey

Why don't you use Mobile Odin app (=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899) to flash the stock ROM as tar file?
You only need to be rooted, then install Mobile Odin app and flash the stock ROM ... on device flashing.
If you are already on ICS, should work fine.
Have done this from stock XWLPD ROM to XWLPG and XWLPM.
I can also confirm that mobile odin is easy to use and works well, I've never had a problem with it. Perfect for flashing official ROMs in tar format.

Ok thanks heaps
I will do that.
I didn't want to use it before, as I was not sure how safe it was, but I will give it a try. Thanks

Hey all,
I'll try keep this short and sweet. I just flashed Siyah Kernel 1.5.4 on my GS3 (currently running Omega v26) and it flashed fine, rebooted the phone and logo showed up all good. However, past that stage the screen goes black and I'm not sure if it's actually booted into the phone.
I can press the menu/back buttons and they respond, but nothing shows up on screen. I can also enter recovery/download mode, so I've tried reflashing the original CF-root kernel and still no luck.
Currently going to try a nandroid restore but does anyone have ideas what the case might be and how to fix it?
Cheers,
poopehz
You need siyah 1.6x for roms based on jb leaks.

Thank you Theshawty, this was it. I automatically assumed the kernel I downloaded from Omega Kitchen app would be compatible.. apparently not.
Appreciate the help.
Hi all, so can I use syah 1.6 kernel on omega 26.1? Did somebody test it?

Hi there!
I am wanting to update my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 but am worried about the process because of having installed a custom kernel previously (would this muck up installing a new custom rom I wonder..)
Please find attached a screenshot of the settings and please tell me what I should do (if anything needs done) before I flash a new custom rom.
Cheers!
if you're worried about kernels, then just flash stock kernel then flash a custom rom on it.

kk, could you provide me with a suitable stock kernel (or links to one) which will be compatible with the rom I have installed?
any stock kernel that is for jb will be fine.

I am on android version 4.0.4 (so technically not JellyBean). and its safe to flash a stock kernel for JB despite being on that version before I flash a custom rom?
Sorry for asking, get confused easily..
you should be fine updating with a custom kernel (as all roms flash a kernel as well). Just make sure you factory reset when moving from ics to JB as you will most likely encounter problems if you don't.

I would suggest flashing ICS stock kernel first if you're worried. I thought you were already on jb.

Easy
Reflash the stock ics ROM
And flash any custom ROM you want

If you're still on HC, its best to upgrade to stock ics first.

That's correct. Stock ICS will give you the correct Bootloader required for the custom ROM you wish to to flash.
Cheers.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a download link for the stock kernel for a Verizon Note 2? I flashed Perseus a while back and have had issues with battery life ever since. Would like to go back to stock kernel if possible but haven't been able to find it anywhere My google-fu is weak I guess.
