[Q] CSC and MODEM for JB - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am on XWLS8 stock ROM, but i am not able to change CSC as it is only single CSC firmware.
I wonder is there any effect using different MODEM and CSC in my country? such as battery drain, signal and so on?
I didn't experience bad signal so far but i wish to use back my own country CSC, is there any CSC package for JB available to download?
My country CSC code is XME or MXS.
Many thanks.

If you need the CSC for your home town go play store and download the samsung CSC app from there. Note read all info on it.. As for the modem if your wireless is fine why change it if you have no issues?

unfortunately the stock rom i get only have 1 single CSC, doesn't contain multi CSC as i tried to use playstore CSC select apps and *272#*IMEI#.
it won't work.
so i was wondering is there any alternative to download seperately to flash.

CSC is now ODK after 8.6 Westcrip install

Hi Ive installed Westcrips rom 8.6 which is great but my CSC has changed from XEU to ODK and there is no option for XEU in CSC list. Does it really matter what CSC and can anyone tell me another CSC to use for UK cause dont have XEU in list. Thanks and what a great site
You can just flash csc package from intratech thread should change back to xeu but you might lose all your data

CSC is only a few files that list local network settings and its not required for the phone to work . Network settings can be entered manually ,

yea man i already checked that page but there is no lf2 csc infact there is an old le9 csc which is also multi csc pkg. i doubt if it works or not bcoz kies recognizes all three exact same version for a phone to update just like
pda lf2
modem lf2
csc lf2 (pak)
wht to do??
actually i specially downloaded lf2 file today from sam mobile for pakistan and i flashed it and there i had a problem with csc then
there is also a lf2 csc but that is in btu for u.k in the end.. would that work??
have you tried *#272*IMEI# & install correct CSC? if that doesnt work what about manually editing the files to get the correct CSC
thats what i had to do when mine kept switching from BTU to KOR, there is no nvram.bin file there is a nv_data.bin
mine seemed to work just editing the mps_code.dat file but i edited both as there is a nv_data.bin.bak if not create one

CSC are posted .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674286
Otherwise you need the extract cache tool posted .
But all you will end up with is non flashable files.
Sammobile may have seperate CSC .
Root explorer and extract the CSC folder and CSC files from the phone system .

I would like to have the correct CSC according to the fw I am using. The mobile came with CSC TEN which is Telenor. This fw is always late when it comes to updates becauce of some special apps they are adding in. So now I have the NEE firmware, but TEN CSC.. so how do I change the CSC?
CSC change in link given.
Sorry I know nothing about official firmware . I use XDA forum. Possible a Samsung forum may have more information for you .

If you flash a nee firmware you should get nee csc to, but you can download csc changer from play store and se that csc you phone have and change it

CSC changer shows only TEN CSC, not NEE... Obviously not a multi CSC thing in this fw..
Ten csc is carrier specific, so it probably just means you will get carrier bloat with it, if that is case then just use your regional csc unless you really want that bloat! And remember changing csc factory reset phone and I think it wipes internal sd too

That is exactly what I want, but how do I manage to get my regional (NEE) CSC into the S3? CDC changer does not work (Sees only TEN CSC) and when I flashed the pda with odin (should contain NEE CSC) I still have TEN CSC...
Basically you want to debrand your phone so you may as well just flash your required Rom from here

1. You need to download firmware for worth multicsc / the one for your region.
2. With 4.0.4 ROM, did you mean custom ROM or unmodified stock firmware?
3. If you really want to get a firmware with your country's csc code, then you have to post your country of choice/interest

I know it can make any sense, but on LPG (CSC = NEE) my mobile data doesn't work proprely .. even if i flash my old Modem and the good RIL (LPW) but when i come back to stock LPD ( CSC = LUX ) which is modem LPW my mobile data works perfectly !
So i think it's a CSC problem ? maybe with my carrier ?

No. Csc doesn't have anything to do with network signal.
Since your phone works perfectly, what do you want now?
I asked you some questions but you haven't answer them yet

Sorry by 4.0.4 i mean stock LPX but it has a NEE CSC .. So while surfing on internet with my mobile data, it doesn't work good ..
I just wanted to know if i can flash a NEE CSC firmware but change it to LUX ?
I'm pretty sure that's a CSC problem because when i flash a NEE CSC firmware with the same modem that used to work good on my old firmware it doesn't work .. But when i flash back a firmware with LUX CSC all works good, so now i want to flash LPX but it has NEE CSC ..
If your phone was branded (only one CSC) and you want to change it, than you must flash any stock multi CSC firmware (Odin will be the best solution in this case). Than you should change CSC manually with app or service code. You have already tried those steps but after flashing you must perform factory reset to rebuild csc system information and remove old csc from efs partition. Do this from settings menu or 3e recovery.
To fully remove brand and flush old CSC wipe is needed. Some informations about it are also stored in efs partition and sometimes flashing one file firmware doesn't change it.
If this will not help than you must flash 3 files firmware (which have included wipe commands in scripts). You will be able to change CSC without any problems.

Ok. Now I got your point but you must understand that because a modem works fine for you in your previous firmware does not necessarily means it will work the same way. That's why we have different modems out there.
For example, my original modem, XXKE7 did not work well for me after I flashed to 2.3.6 gingerbread custom ROM, but XXKI3 worked perfect for me. On upgrading to ICS it was XXKI4 that worked best for me and since moving to Aosp based Roms, XXLPW is the one working best for me.
I hope you get this now.
CSC has nothing to do with network signal. The same way modem does not affect WiFi performance.
90% of custom Roms out there have unknown/no CSC, and Network signals work perfect for people using them. You only need to find the right modem, this is not constant.
End.
To the main issue:
If you still want to flash the Rom with your country's CSC, then let me know your COUNTRY of choice.

that's because the Omega ROM may be based on the Israeli-an CSC
Don't bother if \phone works leave CSC as is .

You say that buy my three phone works but it's not got the hd voice enabled by default. I've been replacing the csc files with my correct csc as I was when the phone was shipped and that seems to get better results for me, as the hd voice is then enabled.

Like i said if it works leave it alone for most CSC is not relevant .
Word is most not all .
3HD or FD on requires correct CSC .
