[Q] Failed to Boot 1 - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Failed to Boot 1
Origionally the phone was on stock rom 2.3.6-4.5.141.
I had been running Nottachtrix's last rom and I needed to return to stock to give the phone to my daughter.
I decided to use RSD to flash back to stock and I ended up with failed to boot 1.
RSD gets to 99% and says "Switching to BP Pass through mode"(phone rebooting?) Screen on phone says "Failed to Boot 1"
RSD says "Error Switching failed flashing process" then says "error switching phone to BP passthrough mode(OX70BE);phone connected", results=fail
I re-downloaded the file:1FF-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-ATT-US-GAS_NA_OLPSGBATTSPE_P012.sbf and retried three times with the same results.
Can I use any other ROM and use RSD to install it?
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance of any advice.
Bill
Update: After searching all day I got out of Failed to Boot 1 by flashing the preinstall image using RSD. Now I'm stuck in a boot loop!

Finally got my phone working.
My problem was with the latest update (4.5.145)and trying to go back to 4.5.141. From Moto website" You cannot downgrade back to original software 4.5.141 after this update".
I read in a post somewhere that if you go into recovery and mount the phone as usb storage you can get access to the internal storage.
I copied Nottach Trix 1.2.9 zip to the internal storage and flashed that through recovery.
Phone booted right up into Nottach Trix and no more boot-loop.

Need help to recover phone (SPB Lite failing to re-enumerate)

Hey guys, I just got a Motorola Photon that I was trying to install the Photon Laser P.ROM
I think I messed up trying to install the SBF file with RSD Lite. (Was following these intructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202666 but I forgot to restart the phone into RSD mode the first time I did it).
I proceeded to install the CWM Boostrap loader and boot into recovery and try to install the Photon Laster P.ROM. The ROM had appeared to install fine, but when waiting for it to boot for the first time it got stuck in a boot loop where it hung at the Motorola Logo (After the Dual Processor screen).
I went back and re-read instructions and realized I didn't boot into the RSD mode when installing that part, but when I went to try it again I get a "USB device not recognized error" when RSD Lite tries to re-enumerate. The screen on my Photon also gets glitchy... it's a black screen with a bunch of still noise (kinda like a bunch of polluted snow).
Can anyone point me in the direction of how to fix it?
I've tried pulling the battery and trying again. I've booted into Android recovery and whiped Data and tried again, but I'm still stuck.
When I boot the device into RSD mode and I try to run RSDLite with the SBF file from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202666) it creates the image then just keeps giving me that glitched screen look. I've tried other USB ports, other cords, other laptops.
edit: I can't seem to boot into CWM either, if I have my phone plugged into the wall and turn it on it either stalls at the Dual Core screen, or the screen after that with the pulsing logo.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250697 and watch the video about un-bricking your device. you just have to flash the stock sbf file.

Video points to this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202666 I had already tried this sbf file yesterday. When I try to flash to it, the phone reboots after creating the image and just goes to a glitched looking screen. RSDLite then failed to re-enumerate.
The video suggests trying different cables or usb ports. I did both of those and even tried a different computer.
edit: Also, the XDA thread linked above has a broken link to its sbf file.
Getting the same issue. Tehxno where u able to fix?
edit: error fixed by downgrading to 154 and then updating from there.
I'm having the same issue although my phone has now been hard reset (with some unfortunate signs of root/rom) and is trying to go thru intitial setup (touch the android) AND IT WILL NOT GO PAST THAT POINT. Just keeps force closing every app in the book.....an fix? other than rsd and sbf

Best advice for that issue
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
Re-enumerate Failed
I have tried EVERYTHING using all the versions with the RSD lite and I cannot get past the re-enumerate step... HELPPPPPPP please. My photon keep shutting off and I lost my WiFi.

[Q] Failed to boot 4 Starting RSD Mode. Please, please, please help!

So, yesterday I got my Atrix 4G, everything stock, tried to install GreyBlur, which is actually a froyo skin and my Atrix was running 2.3.4, so it didn't work. I got stuck at the "dual core technology" boot screen. A member here gave me this:
"There is a one click batch script created by Alaq to revert phones back to stock 2.3.4."
So I tried that and now, because I didn't unlock my bootloader (or so I've been told), I'm stuck at the screen
Failed to boot 4
Starting RSD Mode
So I was told to use RSD and to flash an SBF file, a 2.3.4 SBF (My phone was running 2.3.4 when I got it.
I can't access fastboot or RSD. But since the error says "Starting RSD mode", I decided to try and connect my phone from there.
RSD lite saw my phone as SE Flash Olympus. In a guide on this site, I saw that it's supposed to be NS Flash Olympus, but I tried to flash it anyways. It failed and now I'm still on Failed to boot 4/Starting RSD Mode.
Now I don't know what to do. The phone was running 2.3.4 last time it worked and the boot loader is still locked.
Please help me. I'm a complete android n00b. My parents got me this phone as a gift and I feel absolutely awful. Please help me so I don't have a $250 paperweight.

[Q] Jelly Bean OTA soft brick

So I was playing around with Jelly Bean on my RAZR MAXX and I believe I ended up soft bricking the device. I know that took all of 12 hrs. Anyways how can I fix this?
Edit: I went into the system files to install a different gallery app and eventually when I restarted my phone I got the "encryption unsuccessful" message and asked me to do a factory reset, let's just say that didn't go well it kept popping up, but I am able to get to the fastboot menu.
You're kind of in a pickle right now, then.
DON'T go trying this please, but I believe on ICS, you could fastboot back and have it fail, and then use the update.zip or something like that? I'd go ask Mattlgroff. He may be able to hook you up with an UnstuckJB type deal or something.
I'm pretty much stuck in flashboot
Thanks, all the screen says is:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
0A.74
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode- first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED, Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Last night I tried to flash ICS with RSD Lite but it failed when it tried to flash the boot.img (I know bad idea)
Any thoughts?

I had a softbrick boot loop.
Flast boot .211 ICS. Then go back into stock recovery. Attempt to install the update. It will fail with a status 7. Wipe cache and factory reset. Install the update again. Worked for me. Unfortunately you will lose root access. No knowing when we will be able to get it back as none of the current methods work.

See my issue is when I try to fast boot .211 ICS it fails at the boot image
I am going to make aflashable zip so you can use it on 2. system and don't loose the ability to downgrade.
Fixed (for the most part)
So I lost my root and for some reason every time I turn off the phone and restart it brings up the AP Fastboot menu, but I just choose the option to boot normally. Thanks for all the help everyone priddyma's method worked even though the .211 ICS boot image failed.
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with the same error.
I am on Jellybean and was trying to downgrade by to ICS.
and I guess I corrupted the OS from what what I understand.
need some help getting out of this. Thanks in Advance.
I have already tried the following:
1. clear the cache.
2. full wipe and restore
EDIT: NVM all I had to do is select normal boot and it booted up normally.
EDIT2 : I can get past the error screen but whenever I reboot the error screen reappears.

[Q] Bricked XT910 UMTS while upgrading LiquidSmooth via OTA

I was using the Liquidsmooth ROM, I think 3.1, when on the update menu a new release (3.2) popped up. So I decided to perform the OTA Uptade. Rom downloads itslef, then the Phone reboots himself and remains stuck on the Moto logo...After one hour I resetted the phone via power+vol key combo and I finally met the infamous AP fastboot screen.
I have bypassed the low battery issue by buying a moto factory cable, so now the AP Fastboot screen says "battery ok" and "can program".
That being said, the situation is now as follows
1) If I try to load a ROM via SBF Lite I obtain the following errors:
a) trying to install the stock EU JB rom results in the following "1/10 phone returned fail"
b) trying to install both Cyanogen 11 or Liquidsmooth 3.2 results in SBF rejecting the ROM i.e. it doesn't even start to upload them into the phone
2) If I enter into recovery mode and try to install the Cyano 11 or Liquidsmooth 3.2 which are store in the micro sd cart, the install fails after the integrity check
So, now I'm stuck with a phone which could be programmed, thanks to the factory cable, but which cannot be programmed in non of the ways I've reported.
p.s.
AP Fastboor versione is 0.77
Thank you in advance for every bit of help you would mind to share

Cant get into RSD mode

I think I bricked my device big time in an effort to return to stock. I flashed 4.5.141 and later got a system update while bootloader was unlocked. I got Failed to boot 4.
Later, I tried to relfash the same 4.5.141 sbf and it failed to flash and I got "Failed to boot 1".
Now, I thought I will try to flash again using RSD lite and tried to get into RSD Mode using Vol Down+Power. I am supposed to see options to navigate to RSD and press Vol Up. The first option appears for half a second and the screen turns off.
I am not sure what this behavior is. However, it stays on if battery is low. It stays in NV Flash mode with a message "Battery too low... blah"
I tried to put into fastboot mode and did "fastboot reboot-bootloader". It rebooted but it does not get into RSD Lite mode. It just shows Failed to boot 1. I know how to fix Failed to Boot 1 issue. But this failure to enter RSD mode is killing..
Any one encountered this? Any help here please?
I got out of this problem by using sbf_flash and unlocked the bootloader (with pudding one). That unlocked my bootloader and my Vol Down+Power menu was accessible. And, I went to recovery, performed a wipe and rebooted.
Voila.. It booted very well. I am now in the latest stock. I went all the way from 2.3.6->4.1->4.4.4->Mokee 5.0 and then back to sweet old stock 2.3.6.
My experience with Atrix had been awesome from 2013 where i installed CM 10. It is a great phone and now it works as a music player for me.
