My phone is not detected by pc...there is no problem with drivers coz the dialog ' usb connected as media storage' is appearing some times...its all luck some times it take just once when plugged in..Some times when plugged in 10 times it detects 1 time..sometimes when plugged in even 20 times it is not detected..it is just charging as I have connected to wallmount charger..i guess the problem is in the device itself ..I dont know what...maybe mtp application problem??...even usb tethering is not getting activated...please help me iam so frustrated with the problem..not able to copy files to and from pc..not able to use tethering......plzzzzz help me....thank you
Ps I bought it just 4 days back..no matter which rom iam in....problem exist...ihve tried omega...cm...plz help me

i have same problem with my Sc 03e since it recoveried from softbrick.I tried to reinstall driver manytime,even kies just show my phone name as Sc 03e and stuck at connecting forever.

Hello,Im a lucky sgs 2 owner since thursday ,but unfurtunatly i have problems assosiated with connection to my pc via usb ...I have downloaded latest kies from samsung galaxy s 2 support website ,On the fone its says that its connected but in the kies window on the left-hand corner its just "connecting" ..Im running windows xp (Sp3) on my pc..Can anyone could come up with any solution to my problem ..any help will be highly apprciated as i cannot downolad the latest system update by "ota" (hmmm another problem) it just says connetion failed altough im connected to Wi-Fi..regards Kuba.

You need to have the drivers installed for the phone. When the phone is connected, click on the tools menu (guess that's what it is, at the top bar) and choose update drivers options...let it install and will work then.

Help me out guys Can't connect my galaxy s ii on a contract with 3 (three) uk to a pc USB Device NOT recognized .. Woke up this morning and it's not working .. I have tried everything I don't know what else i can do... Anyone had or having same problem ?
Change usb port
Uninstall and reinstall kies and the drivers
Try a diff cable
Try a diff computer

I have tried everything even if the problem was with my pc it should work as a mass storage on the diff pcs ... but it's not ...

if you find a fix, let me know cause I have the same problem. Three different pc's (1 win7, 2 xp)...reinstalled kies...changed roms. Been using wifi explorer...but still annoying

is the usb debugging ticked? if it is untick it
Unticked ... Even if don't have drivers i should be able to connect it as a mass storage ...

Have you tried ticking usb debugging and connecting in mass storage mode?
Do you have Clockworkmod recovery?
If so boot into it,
plug your phone into the computer
go to the mounts menu
hit mount usb storage
The internal storage should mount as mass storage.
I've tried to flash rom with odin but even here pc can't recognize the device
Do you think it worth sending device to 3 (three) uk repairs ?
Have you tried mounting the device from within recovery?
If that also doesn't work you may have a dead usb controller.
Also, you should try using a different cable.

Flash back to a stock rom and reset the flash counter first to make sure.

I just had a similar problem today with a friends SGSII managed to solve the problem for her by going into kies and in options reinstalling the drivers, it took about 15min for the pc to complete but now it works

Flash back you mean with ODIN ? if so device can't be recognized in that programm too .. The only thing i can do is "hard" reset and it didn't help at all ...

When i first got the phone and connected to a pc it opened up the internal storage folder ... and so should do on any other pcs but it`s not anymore ..

try installing/updating KIES on your computer. Disable USB debugging from phone settings. then try connecting again. Launch KIES and see if the device is recognized. You havent mentioned if you made any changes on the phone from Stock ROM.
Also check windows update...for any driver downloads
At least you could tell us that you solved your problem

First make sure you have proper drivers installed
install PDAnet and select samung. Now connect your s2
if it still doesnt install the drivers, its the fault in the computer because if it says usb device not recognised, then its his fault
try in the backside usb ports --> worked for me one
or power off your PC and remove the plug and wait for five seconds and then turn it on (im mean power it on )
now you should be able to connect your device
hi i m newbee here . my phone is unrooted . Since last three days it is hanging and turend off by itself. when restart battery finishes . its running gingerbread ., i did factory reset but nothing worked . when i connect it with usb or pc it doesnt connect and it shows that its not connected. somebody told me to reinstall the software . how can i do this or fix this problem. thanks
More info plz. U need the drivers for the phone. Installing kies is the easy way to get them. Then again not everyone likes kies.

i m new to android , i dont know whats root is ? my phone is not rooted. few days back its start s hanging and when i received call it hanged then i had to restart the phone . then instead of shutdown its started restart that was annoying . then i connect my phone with USB cable to connect with Pc Samsung kies but it said Device is not found or Driver not found . its charges when i connect to the pc but USB is not detecting it. i wanted to update it to ICS through Kies but its not connecting . Apparently this phone is the SGH-1777... We've had it wrong this whole time!
Have you tried searching these forums and the official AT&T forums? They might have more info you can use since your phone is stock. That or call their Tech Support.

Like Phalanx7621 suggested, install/re-install drivers and Kies. If you do have Kies installed on your system, remove it. Then go to Samsung's website, download the latest version, and install into your system. That should take care of your computer not recognized your phone problem. For the random restart problem, it may be a defective battery.

Make sure you start Kies before you plug the USB to the phone
Call your carrier because if you haven't made any modifications like most of us do then maybe its a problem for them and they might be able to fix it for cheap or get you a new phone since this doesn't sound like its your fault.

So all of a sudden my phone will not connect to any computer regardless of what usb cord I use. I get a message that pops up in windows that says "USB Device Not Recognized" yet my phone is charging. I've wiped multiple times and reflashed my rom and still no luck. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB drivers but it didnt do anything. Could someone please help asap? I really need to be able transfer a ton of files to my sd card from my computer.
Sorry but you'll need a card reader, seems like your USB port is damaged.

Try to go back to stock or to ROM that you have check that it works and check if the problem is still there
