I've looked around sufficiently and I have yet to find anything to fix my problem.
I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 MiniPro U20A and I was fiddling with the CWM menu I installed and after a few messages for one of the actions I get a message along the lines of this action will make the menu not work because of an earlier action, I was like oh crap. The damage was done so I decided to continue and just re-flash the original through SEUS.
Long story short I can't access flash mode.<- Yeh see that, that there is a period, I have tried method after method and It wont do it. I guess at times in its current state it runs out of battery and that might be why I get the red blinking light for a while before it continues to the Sony Ericsson logo and stays, it doesn't loop power like when I accidentally soft bricked it my first try at unlocking the boot loader, it just stays until I unplug it and it dies or I pull the battery. Sometimes after I pull the battery and press the power button it vibrates before the logo, but it never goes anywhere.
So that's all of the symptoms I can see, now I want you to tell me if you can help me or if this is just a useless cause so I can go on complaining about the lack of development for the Samsung Vitality a.k.a. Admire that my sister handed down to me when she got her new phone.
Maybe you need a new battery, like I did.

Battery works fine on a full charge but ever since I bricked it I haven't been charging it that much.
I was thinking there could be a way to boot from sd card, but a quick search didn't turn up any results. Any help at all would be appreciated.
Small update, sony pc companion recognizes that it is a sony device but it wont recognize it as an ericsson x10 mini pro it just says unknown device.
so, turns out to access flash mode your phone must have plenty of charge. Sorry for bugging and thanks to munlicar for trying to help.

Well this is fun. My phone had been running for a week without me installing or updating anything on it. Then today I was starting to get a few "android force close" messages on the phone so I decided to re-start it. I turned it off the regular way, but when I tried to turn it on again nothing happened. So I waited a while and tried again. Still nothing. So I decided to wait some more. After a while I noticed that the phone was starting to get very hot, and it still wouldn't turn on. So now I really don't know what to do. I could do a reflash but I don't have any recent backups so I really don't want to. Does anybody have any other suggestions?
Do you have battery? When batteries get near zero they start heating

Pull the sim and start it up without, these phones have a habit of weird behavior related to the sim card. If that helps, see what happens with an alternative sim. If no luck there I'd try a firmware repair.
It happen to me twice. My x10 mini pro only vibrate when I turn it on but it doesn't start. The first time it happens only 3 days after I buy it. I resolve it by taking it to se service center. They re flash the firmware. A week later it happens again. But after some googling, I found I can do the firmware reinstall by myself. You can use sony ericsson "update service" which can downloaded from support area on sonyericsson.com

I gave up trying to find a solution that doesn't invlove a reflash so I bit the bullet and started the process. For some reason my pc failed to download the new firmware and that somehow resulted in the phone powering back on by itself.
It works now. Yay
My phone was running z's rom 2.2 for x10 when I took it out of my pocket and the screen was black. The blue lights turned on but not the screen. When I turned off the phone, it wouldn't turn back on.
The computer won't recognize it for flash tool or se fix software or battery won't charge if I hook it up to the charger. what do I do? I have never had this issue before. help would be awesome.
thanks. is it bricked?
Solution sort of: I took my phone in to ATT service center and they said my phone and battery weren't working. So I got a new phone for free. (THANK GOD) Xperia x10 refurbished. So I got to mod it all over again. lol. They couldn't tell me what I did wrong or anything. So I guess I have a solution. So whoever has an issue like me, lets just hope your phone isn't dead like mine The other sad thing was they didn't have a battery for me so they are sending me one through the mail. by tomorrow. one day shipping yess!!!! Thanks for all those who put in helpful ideas. Doing some serious phone pimping pretty soon once I get my battery.
Can you boot into xRecovery?
I have a similar issue here.
I am using the CM6.1.3 custom ROM on my phone (Android 2.2). It ran out of battery(for its first time) this afternoon so I charged it and tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't. It just starts up until the Sony Ericsson logo and just fades out and a white light will turn on at the notification lamp for a while and then reboot again. I tried the Sony Ericsson update service to reinstall the software but I changed the firmware and baseband so it doesn't work and it doesn't seem to be able to boot into xRecovery either. What can I do? Help/advice appreciated!
Problem might be with the faulty offline charging.so your battery's flat.I believe there is a fix for the problem, you might need to borrow a battery, install the fix(check the Rom main page) then you should be good to go :
You could also flash a clean rom using the flashtool version 1.3 I think

can you teach me how to flash a clean rom using the flashtool? i already have the flashtool but i dont really know how to use it
thanks
Look in the development section as there are detailed descriptions on this already, but I can say not to worry as it's impossible to brick this phone, it can always be returned to stock. It's the only good thing about not having a cracked bootloader, we cannot be bricked

I KNOW IT SOUNDS LIKE REPOST, BUT, TODAY I WAS ABOUT TO INSTALL A CUSTOM ROM ON MY SE, BUT, i didn't notice that my phone was like 0,5% of battery, and when i entered in xrecovery and started the installation, it suddenly stop. now i have a bootloop, and i can't acces to xrecovery, my phone just starts, says Sony Ericcson and then blacks out. IF ANYBODY PLZ COULD HELP ME plz. just need to enter on xrecovery
Charge it up.
Then use flash tool or SEUS to restore back to STOCK.
Then reinstall xrecovery,flash the ROM,Enjoy.
about that, i can't charge, i connect it and charge a little but then it starts with the SE logo and blacks out again... :S
Had the same problem, i took it to service center. They charged the battery on desktop charger to fix it.

just keep it connected to the charger for an hour or so...
Ok, i had to do this twice now, as i bricked it a couple of weeks ago
you'll have to reflash with sony ericsson update service here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/supp...10?cc=gb&lc=en
Follow the instructions and press the back button before plugging in the cable.
Download the software and keep in mind that playing around with roms will result in these problems so don't go too far.
If that doesnt work, try this:
1. Take your battery out.
2. Hold the back button. Make SEUS running and ready.
3. Plug it into the computer.
4. Put your bateery back in.
Follow the instructions. Hopefully it would work and good luck
If it worked dont forget to hit thanks button.

I was given an X10 mini Pro (U20i). Battery was flat, but I charged that through an external charger.
When I try to start it, it vibrates for a short time, then shows a backlit screen with black on it. Then it goes dark and after a few seconds lights up again. This goes on as an endless loop. I don't know if it was been modified already (unlocked BL or flashed a new ROM etc.)
I have tried the SEUS tool. It flashed new firmware but hasn't changed anything.
As I can't get into the recovery mode or any other mode I am at a loss on what I can try next.
What options do I have?

I think its an harware issue. Check if the flex connecting from motherboard to display is not damanged/broken. Only way to fix is to give sony service center which currently dont support for sony ericsson n 2010 phones. :/ try ur luck

I was afraid someone would say that. I will have a friend of a friend who fixes phones at much lower fee look at it first before going to a sony service center since the 1 year warranty of my phone has ended 2 days ago anyway. This is the second sony ericsson phone that died days after the warranty ended, SE really knows how long their phones will "live". haha.
Thanks so much anyway.
menu and power button held together for 10 seconds
sounds silly but have you tried holding the menu and power button together at the same time for 10 seconds? and i thought all mobile phones now automatically come with a 24 month warranty to cover 2 year contracts?

Warranties depend on where you live, In the European Union, it's 2 years for all consumer electronics, but that's not the same for the rest of the world.
Dear All,
I have been using xda for long time as a user of the huge amount of knowledge in these pages...
Thanks to this community I got the most out of my samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy SII, Galaxy SIII and LG G2.
Now I have an Xperia Z2 D6503. I've been using it for a month and I love it.
But this is my problem.
2 days ago I was using the phone normally, I checked google maps and I put the phone under charge.
An hour later, I went to check the phone, and the phone was unresponsive: black screen, impossible to turn off/restart, no sound, no apparent activity. The only sign of life is a red led when I press the power botton.
The phone is with the original stock (firmware 17.1.A.2.69), I rooted it with a guide I found here (of course) just to use an app like android firewall.
I tried to search the forum for something like this, but honestly all I could find was something similar for the Xperia Z and what was proposed there to restart the phone didn't work (power+volume up).
I also tried to restart the phone with the off button inside the slot where the sim card is. That didn't work either.
Please let me know how can I move forward. As anybody else experienced something like this?
Thanks for your support!
Try flashing official firmware with flashtool maybe? Maybe this will help, I don't know man.
and what about hard reboot, by maintaining power and volume up until the 3 vibrations?

I suggest you go back to stock using flashtool, use it for a while just stock and see if this happens again. If it does, there's something wrong with your phone, but i don't think that's the case.
Try and tell us.
diego9016 HugePotato thanks for your answer! is there any way I can save my data first before flashing?
sensei_sai how do I perform the hard reboot? if I press power and volume up the phone does 3 vibrations, then nothing. what next? how do I hard reboot?
thanks for your help!
I'm currently travelling but when back home in a week I'll definitely go back to stock. But in the meantime, I'm so anxious to save the data stored in the phone.
thanks again!

hi RocketSauce83 thanks!
yes. as I said in the first post, I did try the reset button. Unfortunately nothing happens....

When I put it on charge the red led blinks regularly as usual. Apart that, nothing else.

Have you tried to repair using Sony PC Companion?
That usually helps me if I get stuck

Thanks, I read that post. Interesting, but basically no solution except getting the phone replaced under warranty. I'd go for that, but I wish there was a way to save my data first. I've something in the phone only with no backup.

for my phone was also blinking with a red light when put for charging through the usb or even the charger and then i later found out is because i locked my bootloader when i was in root and had to reflash the stock rom to get it back up

Did your pc recognize your z2, because I can't seem to get it work on my pc to flash a stock Rom. I only get a blinking red light and when I press the power and volume up I get 3 vibrations that's about it.

when I connect the phone to the USB I see that the laptop tries to install the drivers and it fails.
But this is my work laptop and I cannot install sony drivers. I don't know if my desktop at home would recognize the phone. I'll try when I get back.
For the rest, the experience is as discribed by malek777, doing power and volume up I get 3 vibrations and that's it.
I fortgot to mention, I rooted the phone without unlocking the boatloader.

I figured out a way to use the companion app to go back to stock. When you get to the part in repair my device to connect your device, phone must be plugged in.
Hold the power button and volume up, once you hear the 3 vibrations let go of all and hold volume down. You will see a red light and then a green one. You're phone now in download even though there nothing on the screen.
Let me know if this works for you.
