Find your networks apn settings, save them in setting-mobile networks and reboot phone. And/or flash a new radio, theres several threads with archives/advice about which to use.

probably you'll need the simunlock app if you don't have network
and check your IMEI
and provide more info how did it happen'? while flashing a new rom?
Here's a thought, what have you tried so far?

Sounds carrier side (& in the absence of any great amount of detail from you). Either coverage where you're using the phone isn't up to scratch...Or...Phone is IMEI blocked or some kind of block on the phone by the carrier. In the first instance, call them & ask if there's any issue from their end.
Edit - Speaking of the IMEI, check the IMEI in settings/about phone/status Vs the box/documentation that came with the phone. If you don't have it, if the IMEI in phone settings begins with 0049...., that's your problem. Whatever you do, do not post your actual IMEI here if it's OK, just confirm whether it begins with 0049...or not.

Hello there. I'm having this problem. No matter what ROM I flash, I get either mobile network not available or not registered on network. And I check what you said. The IMEI is different from as written on the phone and when I check it in about phone. And it starts with 0049. Can you tell me what's the actual problem here? and do you know how to fix it? Plz reply asap. Even flashing back the stock rom gives me the same problem.

yesterday i brought AT&T's Samsung galaxy s2 SGH-i777(locked) and i unlocked that mobile through cellunlocker.com to pay 11$ for unlock code..they sent 8digit code..its works perfectly...after that i put my IDEA cellular INDIA SIM card on it..its showing some signal..but i am not able to make a calls..its saying network not registered.....after i restart the mobile it took "T-Mobile" network for a moment and lost..after that nomore connection.
when i go to wireless and network/ mobile networks/ network operators only thing which comes written is "DEFAULT SETUP" and that is greyed out. (when i tap on nothing happens).
also when i change back to my old AT&T sim, i am not able to access that greyed out area.
can someone please guide me through it..??
i am new to android phone..currently ia m roaming with T-mobile network in USA-Oklahoma.
my nokia e-5 working perfectly when i switch back SIM on it.
Please help me to how i got signal on my galaxy s2.
trouble shooting done
mobile not in flight mode...wifi working fine...2nd time i removed battery for a while and restart.it tooks network for 2minutes ..i make a blank call to other mobile...after that no signal...
below is my mobile information:
Model no - samsung-sgh-i777
android version 2.3.6
baseband verson- i777uckk6
kernel verson - 2.6.35.7
build number - gingerbread.uckk6
STATUS-
Signal strength- -101dBm 6asu
mobile network type- GPRS
service state- out of service
roaming- not roaming
mobile network state- disconnected
IMEI- 35805504356xxxx
IMEI SV- 03
First thing's first: never post your IMEI. You should take that down ASAP.
Secondly: I have no idea what's wrong with your phone, but our phone is free to unlock. As in, you didn't have to pay anything, all you had to do was root and use an app from the Play Store.
Thirdly: I believe you cannot select the network operator while on a stock ROM (either 2.3.4 or 2.3.6), no matter what you tried. You'd need to flash a custom ROM to do that (not entirely sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong).
Fourthly: Note that the I777 doesn't have the hardware to use T-Mobile's 3G/4G services. You'll only be able to run on Edge, period. There are no workarounds.
Lastly: To fix your problem, I would recommend starting over. That is, wiping all data/caches and flashing back to complete stock 2.3.4. Then root it, and use the app I mentioned before to unlock. Flash a custom ROM after that if you still want the ability to select the network operator.
Read all of the links in the sticky if you want to follow any of the suggestions I made. And I mean, read all of them before you do anything to your phone. You need to fully understand everything you are about to do before you do it.
P.S. Please hit my thanks button if I helped you. Good luck!
hi,
Thanks for your prompt reply... i observed strange thing that i can get signal for a while like 1minut after i removed batter and switch on...after that its showing some signal..but saying network not registred...

Read only posts and threads here. Other websites have outdated info. No ROM is best, try them all yourself. You need to better understand what a ROM is, so search for that. Keep reading, I told you it will take you several days. I won't spoon feed you forever.

good observation..you rocz:good:
Woke up this morning with everything working. Got out of bed and place my phone on my desk and turned on my computer. I then looked back at my phone to see i had not service. Confused, i restarted my phone to see if that worked and it didnt. I tried another sim and it didnt work either. i then put both of the sims in a iphone and it worked there. I restored the phone to stock and 2 other roms and it still isnt working. The weird part is when on stock i get signal bars even when their is no sim. When i try to dial out i get "Not Registered on Network"
Any help is great help

My Network operator doesn't show as a normal either - I do a Search and get (after a wait) Telstra, Optus and Voda - choose Telstra and it pops up a 'Registered on Network' msg.

EDITTZ Found the problem. The phone switched itself to only look for one band not all. +_+ dont know how it got their and how it pertained through all the wipes but got it working DDDDDDDD
i had the same very exact problem..and yes when its in auto mode it only detects gsm signal so the data is slow signal is E.
i usually use the wcdma only option so that the phone on searches for 3g h and h+ but now when i select that option it only gives me
not registered on network..and no data signal at all.. and also the weird thing is that there is a signal bar on it plus when i scan for
network it searches the other two carrier brand on our country not the sims own carrier. help anyone

Hey xTristinx, glad you got your phone working.
I have the same problem on my Galaxy S, my SIM wouldn't register a network on it but it worked on a different phone. My Galaxy S still gets a signal but always says "out of service". I think this might be a problem because my friend used his SIM card in my phone and it f***** up the bands. Could you give me any suggestions on how you fixed your problem?
Thank you.
Hi,
I'm new to the smartphone in general and android in particular.
I have Samsung galaxy SII i9100XXLPS.
Recently I have changed my network provider from Cellcom Israel to Golan Telecom which is a new carrier that builds its network from scratch. Mean while, its rides the existing network of Cellcom.
The problem is that although the data roaming is enabled (as the carrier demands), I keep getting the data roaming alert ("you have lost your data connectivity...") and I can't get internet.
Phone details:
Android version:4.0.3
Baseband version: I9100XXLPS
Kernel version:3.0.15-I9100XWLP8-CL356487
Build number: Firefds-Vmobile.IML74K.XWLP8
I have also Nokia N86 with the same carrier, with no problem accessing internet.
I have switched SIM cards (between the Nokia and the Samsung) but the problem is still the same.
Other people I know on the same network have also galaxy (S2 and W) and they don't have this problem.
Thanks

Hi guys,
A week ago my sister gave me her Samsung Galaxy ace s5830i, she said that she could not call or text anyone and could not receive anything. I looked around on her phone and on the Internet to find the root of the problem. I found that the phone had no IMEI number. I typed *#06# in the keypad of the phone and a box appeared, it had the words "IMEI" but there was no number under it. When I go to settings, about phone and then status, this is what it says:
Network: T-mobile UK
Signal strength: -83 dBm 14 asu
Mobile Network type: UMTS
Service state: Out of service
Roaming: Not roaming
IMEI: Unknown
IMEI SV: 01
I just wanna tell you guys that I hardly know anything about android, so could you please explain everything simply. Thanks
Your thread will be moved to appropriate section.
Phone specs out of the way first: GT-i9300, Android 4.3 (via OTA), sim unlocked, not rooted, Baseband i9300UBUGNF1, Kernel 3.0.31-2320216, and the IMEI matches the frame.
So I've got a problem that's very similar to a lot of other people with one or two exceptions. I get the "Mobile Network Not Available" error message and I've tried the suggested fixes except for the Ariza patch and I haven't tried changing my modem. I don't want to jump into either of them yet because I'm not sure my problem is the same as all the others. Here's why:
When I go to set the network manually via Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Wait till your device is searching for operators. Once the search is done it will show a list of Network Operators ... Nope, not mine. Mine shows nothing and goes right back to the menu showing Search Networks and Select Automatically. Tapping Search Networks brings the same result. If I set the Network Mode on the previous menu to GSM only, it takes less time to search, but still returns nothing.
Also, I don't have any bars. Not as in having bad signal, but as in there is no signal strength indicator in the status bar. Instead, I have a circle with a line through it next to the battery level indicator. I can not even make emergency calls with the phone.
I haven't found anyone with this particular problem yet, even though I've been searching all day. Perhaps I'm not searching for the right thing?
I've tried an old ATT sim and an active GivMobile sim, both with the same results. Both sims will register networks on other phones. I started out on 4.1.2 and did the OTA updates to get to 4.3 with no change in symptoms. I did a factory reset before doing the updates. I've never had a custom ROM on the phone. The IMEI doesn't show up as blacklisted on any site I used to check it. I even went as far as replacing the SIM card reader.
Could my antenna be bad? Could I have the wrong modem for the networks I'm trying to get onto? Any opinions or direction would be greatly appreciated.

"(via OTA)" means you have samsung's original ROM?
Reflashing a Samsung-based ROM fixed my IMEI problem some months ago. I don't know if you are on a custom or original ROM, if it is a custom ROM I believe that you already know the process...
Revolution HD 53 is a great custom samsung-based ROM and fixed my issues. Be careful on what you flash, if you're going to do this
Im having the same problem as you had. Just wondering if you found out how to fix your phone. Ive a samsung j3(2016) SM-J320FN. Got a new sim the other day and have been trying everything to get service, restored to factory setting but nothing seems to be working. Like you nothing came up in network operators. Sim works fine in other phones. If anyone can shead some light on the suituation please feel free to reply
