Serial Number: 000000000000000 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Can anybody help to get back my Serial number.
After unlocking, flashing it turned to :00000000000
I have Efs folder backup, restored it but doesnt work
thanks

Have you tried reverting to factory recovery, if you are not rooted. If rooted you may need to unroot first and do a factory recovery but ensure you back up your personal data and APN settings to your pc first.

I have the same "issue" with mine. I have flashed via ODIN back to stock and still zeros. This might cause my other problem, no sim connection but I have not found a solution yet. Hopefully we can figure this out.

If you had a copy of your efs folder, use it to replace the current efs folder. That may help. On the other hand, if you can get a tab of the same specs, copy the efs folder there and use it to replace yours. The drawback may be that the two tabs will have the same IMEI number, which you can then change to your original number. There should be an app to change the IMEI number.
Hope this helps.

Passwords are designed not to be circumvented.
If you work out where the whatsapp database is, you could connect phone in recovery mode and adb pull the database before ressetting the phone

any videos or tutorials on that ?
Probably.

Please help! New to rooting/custom roms

Alright hey guys! I rooted my phone last night and it worked and all that and I got the SuperUser app. But before I go into more detail, I have the Galaxy s3 I737 or whatever it is for at&t. Alright well today I decided that I wanted to put a custom rom on. I downloaded rom manager from the play store and then opened it up and downloaded CM 10.1 build and the GApps for it also. I clicked all of the boxes for it to make a back up and to wipe all that stuff also and then it started loading and all that. After it was done loading, the phone restarted and had the little CM guy on there and it had the CM boot logo thing I guess you would say.? But after that, it said that Setup Wizard has stopped and that the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
This is what I'm talking about.
Sorry for the bad quality but I had to use my ipod to take the pictures
So now what am I suppose to do? I just really hope that I didn't screw up my phone! Please help!

This thread has a very good toolkit for rooting your s3. I would suggest flashing twrp recovery over clockwork. Then download the rom you want(make sure its for your phone and carrier). And thwn use twrp to flash your rom and/or google apps.

So I basically just have to like re-root my phone again?
Also, did you flash google apps with the rom? Cm does not normally have google apps included they are a separate zip

I think you can just flash twrp recovery with the tool. I only used it once on my friends phone but i believe it has that option. As long as your phone can get to recovery or download mode its not "done". Thats what i would do in this case. Flash twrp recovery with the tool then download a rom to your pc. Transfer to your phone while your in recovery then wipe and flash(just not internal or external sd like my freind did lol). If cm wont flash try a samsung based rom first so you can make a backup before your flash anything else.

Baseband version unknown

My phone froze on me earlier and threw me into bootloops. Recovery didn't work, so I flashed it again. Then I did a factory reset and flashed my rom again and I have no service at all and the play store doesn't work.
How do I get my baseband back?
For some reason the phone can't find the internal storage. I don't know how to fix this.

If your phone can see the external card you could download a baseband from xda, copy it the card then flash the baseband from there.

I tried two different ones from here, but it still says baseband unknown.
On another note, fixing permissions fails completely. It seems I'm completely borked

It might be best to restore to stock and start over. DL alternate restore and flash that from Odin. If that doesn't work then root66.

Considering all the issues I'm having, root66 looks like the best way to go. Thank you.

If you use Root66 it doesn't completely wipe your phone like VRALJB or VRALL4 so you need to check the NAND Erase box in Odin before starting the flash.

I flashed root66 and it's stuck on the splash screen. Does it take a while to boot after that? I did factory reset and I had to format /data because TWRP thought I had encrypted data.
Update: flashed JellyBeans but it has no storage available (negative value on internal storage). Still no service. Flashing any of the modems that Scottsroms has does not update it. Maybe I can get it through odin. I heard that it takes a few minutes to flash a new modem, but it only takes a few seconds on my phone and does nothing
Successfully flashing a modem via TWRP only took a few seconds for me.

If you haven't already you may want to reformat internal storage and or flash root66 with the pit file or after that with both of those and Nand erase selected in Odin.

That's why I and other users recommended you select NAND erase in Odin when using Root66, it isn't that it doesn't update everything it just doesn't completely wipe everything.

It sounds like you were able to fix your problem. I think I am having the same problem as you. Could you please tell me in detail what you did? I have been rooting phones for almost 5 years now but this Note 2 is an entirely different beast.

[Q] My S4 is missing recovery!!!

Okay I hope someone can help me! This is what happened, I had a rooted MDK version and wanted to upgrade to ME7 since there was a root for it so i upgraded then re-rooted now running ME7 rooted. But i tried to install a custom recovery (forgot that ME7 bootloader isnt unlocked -_-) so now i basicly DELETED my recovery. My phone turns on fine but for example if i hold POWER and UP it boots to download mode and on top is says "failed to boot" So basicly can somone please explain to me how to install the original recovery WITHOUT losing any of my phone data? THANKS!
You should have done some reading first, but you've now found out you can't flash a recovery when on mf3. Join the many others. It probably boots into download mode. When it does can you cancel that with vol down?
Edit, as far as getting the recovery back, you can't afaik

No nothing works when in that mode, I have to take the battery out and back in and turn it on normal and it boots up fine just the recovery mode doesn't work. This isn't a crazy concern just annoying so your saying there is NO fix? I just have to wait until the find a way to unlock the bootloader then install a custom recovery?

When I Make A Call Phone Says Cellular Network Not Available But I have A Signal

I flashed my phone to a newer version of CM 12.1 that I found here:
http://android.cmphys.com/cyanogenmod-fireball/
it was an attempt to fix an issue with my data network. This build included a patch for the Fireball Radio. A few hours after the flash, I tried making a call. I have a signal but the phone says "Cellular network not available". I've restored a backup of the previous ROM, wiped cache and reseated the SIM. Still having the same problem. The phone is Straight Talk/Verizon using CDMA/LTE. Before I ditch the phone, is there anything else I can try? Would going back to stock ROM change anything? I've not touched baseband, etc unless they are port of the ROM I installed. I like the phone but I also need one that works.
Try returning to stock http://android.cmphys.com/stock-fireball/ or search for the ruu here to see if that helps. And make sure you have the most updated firmware 2.19.605.2.zip

the phone is s-off boot loader unlocked and partition swapped. I know I have to reverse the partition swap. Do I need to relock bootloader, etc or will the stock ROM work after the partitions are swapped back?
Trying to update firmware, I am using these step
Reboot the device to HBOOT: adb reboot-bootloader
Enter the OEM update mode: fastboot oem rebootRUU
Flash the firmware package. cd to the directory containing fireball-firmware-2.19.605.2.zip and run:
fastboot flash zip fireball-firmware-2.19.605.2.zip
Wait for the process to finish
Reboot the phone: fastboot reboot
I get to step 2, and my laptop says it is waiting for device. am I supposed to do anything on the phone or just wait?
Just swapping partitions back should work.

If I remember correctly the ruu command requires the stock recovery.

ok thanks. I can;t hurt the phone any more than it already is.
I figured it out. I'm in Linux and had to su to root to get fastboot to flash anything. oddly, the reboot commands just fine when I'm not root.
So, were you successful getting your voice connection back?
Nexus 5 Chroma
No. And it doesn't appear I was successful at flashing firmware either. The phone still says I am version 1.5 I tried flashing stock recovery then repeating the firmware flash. I am going to be looking for a new phone today.

I replaced the phone today. I am on call tonight and tomorrow and needed a working phone. I could use a land line but it would be painful. thanks for all the help. I spent some time on the phone last night with Verizon. I'm wondering if either they figured out the phone was unlocked or its just older so they flipped a bit somewhere to keep it from connecting. I could also try a GSM SIM and may keep the phone for if I ever travel international.
Yeah, Verizon is slightly fishy that way, on mine two days before my contract was up my LTE just stopped working. Good luck with the new phone.
