Hey Guys, i have a Desire X with a o2 branding...
i thought its stock, because there no o2 apps or o2 stuff on the phone. so i rootet it with the toolkit and flash a custom rom, no problems at all.
now i decided to sell the device, so i thought it would be the best to make a clean & fresh install with the offical ruu.
start the ruu, bamm, cid error 131 -> so i figured out i have a branded device, my cid is O2___001
i reed that you can bypass the cid check by insert a goldcard in the phone.
i tried to creat a goldcard with the goldcardtool, it says "succed" but i get the same result, cid error 131
if i check the goldcard with a hex editor, it seems ok, line 00000 - 000170 are the same as in the goldcard.img
shuld i try another sd-card? i uses a 16gb and a 8gb, booth failed, ruu wont install.
i also tried to change the cid by editing /dev/block/mmcblk0p7 (here is the cid stored) but for this it seems that the device needs s-off..
i can write it with "dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p7 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7" no errors, but after checking it with fastboot getvar all, it still reads O2__001
any ideas how i can get away from this f***** o2 branding?
You probably can't do anything, but try to extract rom.zip from ruu, rename it to PM66IMG.zip, put it on root of sd card, restart phone to bootloder and when bootloader finds zip confirm the update.
i also tried this, but with the same results.. bootloader finds it, start, but wont finishing it.
is it possible to restore a nandroid backup from a stock desire x in cwm?

I already had a confirmation that it didn't work, but it wasn't bad to try.

AW: [Q] Debranding Desire X --- pleas help me
You can flash this stock rom if you are rooted. Put it on your sd card and install it via cwm. Maybe also do a full wipe before flashing.

If you want to remove the branding you need S-OFF which isn't available for Desire X yet.
Dafuq, how many times I ha e to tell you, It's CWM!

If you have a European cid you have a ruu ! For the rest of the places I guess you need to restore a nandroid backup which you'll find in the forum !

Like expected, you cannot revert to stock using RUU. You have to use an ICS backup form users, and in your case krishna.kowshik has it and published it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40541546&postcount=102
Thank him!

Reverting back to my previous stock ROM and applied jelly bean update
I downloaded Nandroid Backup from the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2210619.
Here I installed TWRP in my mobile in order to get my stock ROM back (boot loader again unlocked here).
in sd card TWRP folder I copied these files. in sd card root folder I copied MissingGoogleApps.zip and STOCK_recovery.img_Installer.zip.
in TWRP recovery mode I restored Nandriod backup files and flashed MissingGoogleApps.zip successfully. But when I tried to flash STOCK_recovery.img_Installer.zip its failed. i extract recovery.img file from this zip. Then in fastboot mode I flashed this recovery.img file.
Then again I relocked the phone and rebooted. Now phone is started with my stock ROM.
Getting official JB update
here I followed below procedure.
1. Unlock Bootloader.
2. Flash Stock Recovery : Tutorial - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...26&postcount=2
Use the stock recovery.img attached here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...20&postcount=1
3. Recheck for Software Update and Download the update.
again i relocked the phone and applied the update.
Now everything ok.

Nobody ever say that STOCK_recovery.img_Installer.zip is to be flash in recovery.. that is an installer for user who is not familiar with ADB command... it is to be extracted on PC then run the installer batch file after your DX is connected to PC in fastboot mode

What is your Hboot?
Sounds like the update was incomplete. Take a look into JB nandroid section to find a nand of your cid and be sure to flash the right kernel via fastboot, which you should be able to access.
---------- Post added at 02:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:16 PM ----------
And yeah. double check hboot version (1.25 and higher is JB...)
Have you tried running a RUU?
where can I download RUU for this model, I got a phone is turned off and is not included, only that he makes this when connected to a PC lights up "orange light" and is defined as what the unknown device.

Then send it to an HTC service center or to the shop where you bought it.
It's dead and you can't revive it yourself
but he is still determined by the Manager, is there any program to restore this device? restore on it HBOOT and go into Recovery. well and so on.

Take RUU rename it PH85IMG.ZIP and put it in root folder of SD Card.
Reboot phone to bootloader and see if it flashes. Give it at least 10 minutes.
Report back here.
Hi All,
Need your help desperately, I have tried many options on the net but could not find any solution to my device htc desire 501 dual sim. I had rooted my device and went into recovery mode. Now it has stuck at bootloader and cannot find any RUU to re-install the factory image. Have tried with other HTC desire RUU but not succeeded. Is there any RUU where I can use and come back to factory image.
Thank you
