Um, so , i followed all the steps given somewhere in the forums here to flash and then root my phone using flashtool. So i downloaded flash tool , downloaded a kernel , opened flashtool , did all the steps and then on the logs it told to remove my phone and switch it on but now when i try to switch it on it stays on a black screen and after sometime it vibrates and the back button switches on and then it goes back to the black screen and then again it vibrates. Please help

I think you are trying to root your phone with locked bl.
proceed with the rooting steps then flash your own kernel again and It will be okay.

Do not worry it is hard to brick 2011 xperia phones.
I'm sure if you flashed your phone firmware again it will boot.
now, If I'm not wrong you were following this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842366
If you pay attention to the steps and follow them carefully you will succeed it rooting your phone with locked bl.
But give us some information to be able to help you.
Current firmware?

So are you following my rooting guide(see my signature). There it's clearly stated that whatever the status is continue with rooting. If u followed everything correctly u'll be successful.

i followed the rooting steps correctly and now after i rooted it using doomlord v1 xperia 2011 ics root , i installed the kernal using flashtool. I switched my phone back on and now its stuck at a black screen again with the periodic vibration but this time without the back capacitive touch screen button instead my screen's light keeps flickering.

Did you flashed your kernel at the end? The kernel found at the end differ from the when used while rooting!

Ok download the complete stock firmware of your phone(nearly 200 MBs) and flash it in flashmode. It should most probably switchon the device

can anyone help?

I think he did not use the kernel from step 5 , but just reflashed the kernel used for rooting.
Man If you want a real help provide some info. With your posts, we are not here to guess!

Yes i did flash the second kernel at the end.
what all info do you need?

Hold on a second what are u guys talking about...... How is he suppose to flash kernel with a locked bootloader?? Lol
Btw flash the stock firmware first then unlock bootloader(official method or testpoint method) then flash a pre rooted kernel
Device: WT19i
Rom: Zelly Cream 2.0 [MDPI]
Kernel : Lupas v3

Dude please have proper knowledge before posting. You need an unlocked bootloader for custom kernels not the official one which are signed by sony. In the complete ftf firmware kernel is also included and it is flashed using flashtool. So in official kernel everything is removed from the ftf except kernel.sin and loader.sin and then the ftf is flashed on locked bootloader. As simple as that.

Do not follow his steps, unlocking bootloader will erase drm files which cause track id not to work and you will not be able to receive ota updates.
SO, do not unlock your bootloader unless you understand the consequences.
Now, what I can tell you is try to repair with seus or pcc, after that follow the rooting guide again, it is very simple but make sure you are following step by step correctly.
The phone is in your hand and the computer is infront of you.
You are the one who is going to figure this out and make this work.
Good luck.

Tip: if the flashtool not regonize your phone, use pc companion to install the SEMC Usb Driver
to let flashtool regonizing your phone.
howto do: use pc companion, do what it says,
if it says: you have already the new update, press recover, he install the SEMC Usb Driver,

Now you have the Semc Usb Driver installed on your Pc/Laptop.
Updated with the new kernel from DooMlord.
read this carefully:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087
i do this:
1: Please make sure you have enabled usb-debugging in your current rom before starting with this!!
2: flash the azuzu kernel downgrade ftf with flashtool
then do this and download this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256430
if it no respond just wait, i must have his superuser action regonize
then do this:
3: after unlocking is finish you have to flash azuzu kernel upgrade
4: now power on phone to check if the phone is starting after the unlock (if you are using a custom kernel yet with the bypass method and get stuck in a bootloop enter xrecovery and clear dalvik-cache, then your phone should boot up again fine)
power off phone and flash X10_2.3.3_DooMKernel-v06-FS-BootManager-v1.4.ftf
with flashtool
now reboot your phone and go to XRecovery and install the zipfile: x10_gb_DooMKernel-v05a-FS_wifi modules
power on phone again and if everything is right, read the line under that one
WOOOHOOO!!! Here you are with unlocked bootloader, custom kernel directly loaded AND without reflashing any rom, means you have kept your current installation
Doom his files:
Flash this with flashtool: http://www.multiupload.com/ISV5FMZHJ0
install this with xrecovery: http://www.multiupload.com/XMB0OO8PWH
i do it like this and it works !
Important !! If you are using the Unlocking Bootloader tool, just wait, do nothing,
He must get his acces to superuser, look at the letters/numbers in the tool
[*] >> run ADB in tools as administrator of x10 bootloader dont work, after that it works !
press hard but safely the Thanks button !!
succes !!!
p.s. i help a friend yeeyon1990 and myself and maybe more.

For start chill your horses.
I have eyes and I can read, so no need to copy/paste what has been written in this thread.
Second, I know why doomlord's root toolkit failed for OP. doomlords toolkit CAN root .562(also known as 4..0.3) but CAN'T root .431(4.0.4) fw, which is what flashing .562 kernel is needed in order to root.
I know the procedure, I wrote the tutorial(which I linked in post#4), after which guys from talk.sonymobile wrote it on their forum, just FYI.

If you are on 4.0.3, doomlord CAN root your phone, if it can't, you are doing something wrong, in which case, we need to see log of that root process.
Flashtool is only used to flash 4.0.3 kernel, but that's for people on 4.0.4.

if doomlord's root toolkit FOR ICS, failed for you, provide log of that process.
Now I tell you another thing, which you would know if you read all post in this thread, specially link I gave above, you have unlocked your bootloader, ffs, you can root without any mess with root toolkits, simply flash/hotboot kernel with CWM and flash superuser zip. And enjoy your phone.
Tutorial on talk.sonymobile doesn't have part for unlocked bootloaders, that's why I linked my tutorial which have both parts.
He failed with doomlord root toolkit because he had 4.0.4! He needed to flash kernel from 4.0.3, then use toolkit then flash back kernel from 4.0.4
if doomlord's root toolkit FOR ICS, failed for you, provide log of that process.
U are rite 4.0.3 is workable in doomslord but only on this doomslord toolkit for xperia "DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su"
it has pushed the SU properly nd installed it ! later i have downloaded CWM 5, so i 1st took Astro File Manager from the Market, for exploring the SD then installed the CWM 5, so when i did the SU asked to get the permission nd then all the options in CWM are ticked well and Su got CWM in its list, so all good and rooted, now please refer me the app that can solve the brightness issue in Neo V :good:
Thanx & Regards
now that i have rooted & all ! how will i go to fw .431 means 4.0.4 ? and if i flash 4.04 will my phone still be rooted ?
If u know a process of how to root in 4.0.4 nd can install su in it plz tell ! nd plz clarify me that CWM is necessary to have it 1st installed on the device or SU ?
Lets suppose ill clear the picture ... if i want to flash 4.0.4 with Kernal .431 my phone is open to root, but as u know the doomlords kit failed ! is there any otherway to push SU as a zip like ur mentioning that flash it with hotboot wats that how the process is going to be ?

Yes the different device ftf may cause touchscreen fault due to driver mismatching/wrong kernel, but i was using Sola's ftf so that is ruled out.Although you are right that something different is corrupting the screen 'cause Xperia Mini had the same problem that was related to some rom flashing.
Or may be,the flashtool doesn't format all the partitions of the phone and there are some hardware files still lurking somewhere in the one of the partition thats causing the problem, but its just my guess.
I thought that only wrong kernel can cause hardware failure, didn't knew that a simple rom flash can do this,so lesson learnt:silly:

Thank you for your help, but it does not work. I tried GB .62 and .84 with flashtool ver 6.x and 9.x with locked and unlocked bootloader. The touchscreen keeps black only the buttons responds (vibrate by pressing) a short time.
I think it's time for service center
Thanks

By 'touchscreen keeps black' you mean that there is no display, that there may be some hardware fault,You should take it to the sevice center.

Does the touchscreen fault occured after flashing a rom/mod or after a physical damage?
If it is related to some physical damage, the solution won't work and you have to send it to service center.

Time for small celebration:victory:....'cause my Xperia sola need not go to service center.
Yes i found the solution and its simple as a pea.....
Just flash the stock gingerbread via flashtool and there you go....touchscreen's functionality RESTORED.I guess i was correct about the wrong driver lurking in some partition...
Hey hva8 give the above prescribed medicine to your Sola...i'm sure it will get well soon
Didn't flash back to ICS but i guess there shouldn't be any problem now.

[Q] Sony sk17i mini pro bootloop. Advice please....

Hello everyone,
I have joined here hoping to get some advice, so i will be as complete with my situation as i can.
So, i rooted my phone, installed busybox, root explorer and CWM. No problems so far.
Read up on rom installations and attempted my first one. Cannot remember the rom at the moment but followed instructions as in "back up", wipe cache etc....
Now the phone is in bootloop, whereby it switches on, goes to sony erricson screen, blue light flashes and then goes blank. I cannot enter CWM, i cannot switch off until i remove battery.
I have tried both pc companion repair and seus repair but both say no software for phone(pc companion) and newest software installed(seus).
I have tried booting into safe mode the old fashioned way, but no go and finally....i have shouted obscenities at my phone but that doesn't work either.:silly:
any suggestions, or should i assume that it is bricked and send off for repair if possible?
Thank you.
Hey bro have you locked or unlocked bootloader?
Flash stock .587 firm with flashtool.
Some roms are only for locked or unlocked bootloader. You need to see that before install a rom. And remember. Not all the roms are stable.
Follow step by step. Is recomendable before install a rom. Flash stock firm.
Press thnks if I help to your mind.

Thanks for your advice.:good:
I went it alone last night and used flashtool to restore a stock rom that i had found and downloaded, and it worked apart from one thing..............the touchscreen will not work now
I have no option to unlock the bootloader according to my phone info, so i will try this .587 firmware you mentioned. Could you provide a link if possible and any advice on the touchscreen.
Many thanks!!

If I'm not wrong, you should still be able to flash stock gb or ics via flashtool.
This means that if you're looking for a way to get your data back, you probably won't be able to...

Happened with me too...just download any kernel with a recovery..(you'll find one in custom rom's zips) flash it and wipe everything you can except for your sdcard. Then flash the firmware you want to have via flashtool
or repair phone with official Sony software
