Been having this problem a while, the phone will charge just fine in the beginning but if I use my phone meanwhile it will stop charging it forcing me to re plug it in and then it will work just fine until the problem comes back again..
Did a lil research but nothing came up like my problem.
Does this interruption happen when transferring data between the PC and they phone too? Or only when charging?

No idea. PC got stolen and my dad's computer is real trashy so can't really count that in..
Try to clean USB port with small brush. Sometimes a bit of dirt can get stuck there. If not, change USB cable or charger

I was using my tab while keeping it charging, got the battery 100% full notification, so I unplugged the charger. However, it thinks it's still plugged in. I've tried restarting multiple times and wiping cache, dalvik cache, and battery stats, but it's still happening.
The big problem is that now it won't recognize other things, such as plugging in a USB drive or game controller with the adapter. How do I fix it?

I just tried a complete factory reset and upgrade to v2 of the rom with pershoots kernel, still not working. Still says fully charged and plugged in, but no way it could be hours later.
Please help!

I maybe wrong but it sounds as if your charging port may be messed up somehow. Call the Samsung number on the back of the tab its on the bottom it'd really small lettering though. They may be able to help.

That's what I ended up doing. Their customer support is amazing! 24/7 phone line, and it took five minutes to refill them what was going on and that I has already retired everything like resetting, and now they're sending me a shipping label free of charge to repair it. I'll have it back (same one, not a new one) in 5-14 days from when I send it in with the label, which should be 3-5 days to get. Not too bad srt all.

Samsung Galaxy Player 5 Charging Issue
Slightly different device, same problem. My Player will continue to show as charging after I unplug it. This does not happen every time, but it happens more often than not. Also, wall charger or PC both cause the problem. A little more info about my device: I have an un-rooted domestic (American) version of the YP-G70, which is a 5in Android device with no cellular connection of any kind (wifi only). I have had no other problems with the device and it is only a few days old. I suspect I will have to get it sent back to Sammy. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help, and please spare the noob!
Hello everybody, first of all I'm really sorry for my bad English. I'm looking for someone of you who can help and solve my problem.

It seems either the charger end point / connector and/or the phone MHL port which you connect to charge are dirty clean them and try again.
I've tried to charge it with a different battery charger and tried to clean the phone's USB port blowing in it but nothing seemed to change. I really don't know why but today after 3 hours of problems my gs2 started behaving correctly...but when i reconnected the phone and then I unplugged it the bug reappeared... since the problem appeared for the first time I switched between different roms but always the same ... could it be still a software problem?

hi
i think it's a hardware problem. go to service to check the phone.
Have you droped your phone in water or left it in a mosit area? Maybe rust or something is causing that

Mmm not really, the problem appeared the first time one day i got up and i unplugged the phone as usual... the phone never dropped into the water or something like that..
Moreover if I don't plugin the phone it works normally... The problem seems to appear sporadically immediately after being connected to the battery charger...
Anyway my device is running a custom rom Samsung won't get it back

I can't seem to find anyone which has exactly the same problem as this although a few similar posts.
I think my USB connection may have got a bit moist in the snow lately. I got a message saying unable to charge by USB when it wasn't even plugged in. Plugged it in PC overnight to charge and when I unplugged it the charging symbol stayed on.
I can't boot the phone up as it constantly loops on charging/not charging and can't boot into recovery. I can boot into download mode but nothing shows as connected in Windows despite reinstalling drivers several times and trying another PC.
It did start up once yesterday but having powered it up again since after leaving it to dry out it seems it was a one off. I've ordered a replacement charging port module which I'll try once it arrives but wondered if anyone has any advice in the meantime?
Some threads have mentioned not being able to turn the phone off but I can't even turn mine on! Although I guess I can't turn it off either since it is constantly restarting the battery icon when the battery is in. I've tried plugging it into the wall and PC, it does charge to 100% but still can't turn it on.
does sound like it is water damaged, it also sounds more likely that its not going to be just the charging port
try using JIG and removing the battery... it may help

Well once I managed to boot into it yesterday it worked perfectly, so pretty sure everything else is working fine it just has a problem constantly charging and disconnecting which is stopping it booting properly.

Thanks. Will try tomorrow with the JIG and new board when they turn up. The thought of having a £300 paper weight sickens me!
Fixed it temporarily at least.
Unscrewed the 7 screws behind the battery cover. Disconnected the usb/charging board from the mainboard. Turned it on and it started up then plugged the usb/charging board back in and restarted. All works great now except it still thinks its charging and not charging repeatedly so won't go into a deep sleep but that'll be fixed once the new board arrives.
I am having this exact same issue. My damned ski pant pocket decided to open up a bit and let some powder in. Not much snow got in, but enough to cause some issues apparently. I cleaned the USB port with rubbing alcohol and same with the contacts for the battery. It seems to have stopped, but every once and a while it will try to go into car mode. Kind of frustrating.
Yeah, it still thinks it is charging after I unplug it, and sometimes it will not recognize that I am charging when I do plug it in. Any ideas?
I have the same problem... Started with going into car mode... then telling me that the usb is plugged in when it isn't. Now says it's charging all the time and when I reboot that the battery is overheating... Can't restart unless I go into cwm and reboot. I've got a new usb port/board on order and hope that fixes it.

Can you point me in the direction of one of those? I think I may need to pick one up.
I just plugged my phone into my computer to charge it, and my computer failed to recognize it. I think the issue must lie with the usb port on my phone, as there is absolutely nothing else wrong with it other than the charging issues.
I found the usb port/board on ebay... Search for usb flex cable or charging port. Think it was less than 20 bucks, just hope it fixes the problem.

Thanks, me too. Just ordered one. I picked up a new battery too, because mine was having issues.
The new usb board fixed my phone...yay!
Sent from my GT-I9100M using XDA App
Sweet, did you happen to check the revision number on it? I bet it was fairly easy to install as well?
Didn't check the revision number...
Wasn't that hard to replace. The board and flex cable is glued to the housing so I had to carefully lift it off after unscrewing the two screws. There was another screw on the motherboard that I had to take out... and then lift it up a bit to get the cable Unglued and out.

Yeah, that is what the video I found seemed to indicate. Ha, I work on laptops and desktops on a daily basis, but I still get nervous about small work like that.
Update: I just installed it, and it fixed my issues regarding charging! The battery is still being retarded, but I have another than is on the way.
Hello.
Recently I noticed that when I plug my phone in and let it sit and charge for the night my phone disconnects from the network and I lose all my service. This only happens when I charge it and it happens when the screen stays off for a couple of mins. Usually when I turn the screen on it will connect back. I'm wondering why it's doing this. I'm on viper dna and I use the oem charging cable and adapter provided with the phone by HTC. I running viper rom 1.3.3 the newest version if that matters.
If the screen stays on I don't lose service. For example right now it's plugged in and I still have service because I haven't shut the screen off for a couple of minutes.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

So I think I have fixed the problem. I switched to another charger and now it seems to have stopped the issue. So I switched back to the same as adapter and used a different data cable and now it's not doing it. So I'm thinking that the data cable is defective and I have already had that replaced once. If that's possible I'm not sure how a data cable can cause an issue like that but that's what appears to have been causing the problem.

Happens to me aswell... It started about 2 months ago... I usually charged my phone with magnetic charger with longer, unofficial cable. But some time ago, it started to charge only to about 85% at this point, phone disconnect s/connects like if I unplugged it... Only thing that solves this is using original charger, original cable (magnetic or USB)... This is the only way I can charge it to full.
Thanx alot for replying but i use original usb charger it come with the device and the same problem

Well, in that case... I would probably turn it off and try to charge the phone to 100%, maybe flash stock ROM via Flashtool, or just use warranty and return the phone, if nothing helps.
I tried to turn it of and charge 100% but i dont try to flash stock rom. ill try it
Thanx aloooot

After you connect the magnetic charger upside down you fry one of the diodes on the mainboard.
Do as you want, your phone, your cash
isnt it repairable like the repair center will ask for theprice of a new phoen to fix it !!!
