I am currently working on a rom for the Galaxy Note 2. I ran into a problem and thought that I might find some help here, I have created a themed framework-res.apk however when I combine it into the rom zip file and flash it it does not boot. For it to boot I need to first flash the rom (without the themed framework), boot, then flash the themed framework. The themed framework-res is from a different base of the rom so it might be the cause of this. I can redo the theming on the original framework from the rom but I made a lot of xml changes and would not like to redo those. Is there a way I can combine it into the rom zip file and make it work ?
Thanks
Edit : Managed to solve by moving the xml and png files to the original framework from the rom

I'd like to as well i made a theme with UOT Kitchen.
How do i put it in my rom and make it default?
We have a write up posted if you're interested in joining. I don't recall off top of my head. I built my framework-res.apk and replaced the original in the kitchen then zipaligned the apks. Created the boot.zip and flashed to my mt4g worked great. Had other issues with some incorrect coding on my part but the theme worked fine.

After trying several days to DEODEX an ODEXED ROM, I gave up because It's not working good for me, Bootloops, APK FC's and many more. So I decided to stick with ODEX Stock till someone does it properly. Im still new to this.
So since im on ODEX Stock -> I need to know whether its possible to -
* Mod PNG files inside APK's using Winzip
* Mod Framework-Res.APK to edit the XML "Bools" file to add CRT effect
* Use Deodexed APK's inside System/app folder
If the above is possible, are there things that I should keep in mind to not mess up the system ?
Thanks a lot guys !
I have 3 zip files, CM9, G-apps, and a theme can i combine these 3 in to 1 flashable zipfile? And can i make CM9 themed, from the start so i don't have to use theme chooser? Because i have a great idea for a cm9 based rom.
theme is cyan lable, whit SGS 3 icons and some apps, transparant geniewigdet and Asus aurora live wallpaper (already in one zip)
ALready many thanks :laugh::laugh:
Hi,
You have to flash them by order : rom first then others.
I's better to reboot after flashing the rom before continuing, then you can control that the first flash is well done (sometime this one has a long boot). Then when you do the other, it must be quicker.
Having only one zip is used if you want to build your home made rom...
Hopping that help
1) I want to Extract stock rom and make signed , zipaligned and deodexed custom rom. THIS IS great guide but not support ICS. How can I ?
2) How can I add text on Settings section. About Phone / I want to add text (xxxx theme)
1) You can use dsixda kitchen , HERE
2) If I remember correctly , in build.prop
The fonts disappeared in Setting menu of my HTC sensation. Ice 4.0.3.
After font replacement of Roboto-Regular.ttf
Any idea please?
Possible to add flashable mod to ROM before flashing?
hi guys am a new comer to developing and am a flashaholic, but it is annoying to flash all my mods after i have flashed the rom how can i add the mod to the rar of the rom before flashing. i know you can extract it and push the apk fil to the apps folder but for this phone call recording mod, this method did not work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=206206
