Do the old ones no-longer work ? :S
Cause I just re-installed them and haven't had an issue so far - it still changed all the buil.prop, init.d, install custom market etc from all in one tool. Unless there's some horrible disaster waiting to happen

If u r indeed on an unrooted ICS there is no way (yet) to root ur device. But if ur still on HC I'm not sure if these drivers will work for ya.
Try this instead:
Automated ADB Driver Installer for Sony Tablet S and P
Personally I still use them, even after updating to ICS. Havent really tested every function but it seems to work fine.

Ok, i finally rooted my chinese sgpt111cn that was on stock ics.
Now i still can't get google accounts even after changing region to Us.
Did someone try to downgrade from chinese stock rooted ics to US honeycomb?
Do you think it's risky?
I can't wait for my chinese tablet to finally become fully usable!!!
Thanks for your advices...

yes of course, no luck
seems the chinese version of the market HiMarket is not replaced and I don't find a trace of the moded market after reboot, even though Aio says everthing went well...
I also tried copying it myself with root ES explorer, but even that doesn't work. It seems the chinese version lacks the google service framework as well, so I copied and installed it... no luck.
There are so many difference between the chinese and US ICS, I think the only way is to flash a new fm...
or wait until 4.0.4 so that I don't risk a downgrade, unless someone already found a solution to change a rooted chinese stock ICS to a US one ?

yes that's what I'm doing, I changed the region and got the zip (signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002)
now it's stuck because I need to change vendor prop and decrease the build # I guess.
I'll try that and let you know how this works, what could go wrong anyway ?
worst case I'll end up with US ICS unrooted and will root again with the new method that worked on my chinese 4.0.3 r1a
I'm using Aio 4.0 btw, and disable hack_recovery download from sites.google because the shell could not connect, I don't know why...
I was able to download it through browser and put it locally myself anyway. all the rest if ok until the bad sku #, so vendor prop change should do the trick !
can someone tell me exactly what values to change to be able to downgrade in the prop files (vendor/build) ?
if I mess up those files, do I risk brick my tablet ?

Vendor.prop change incremental to 111104048. default aio incremental, I think. This cant brick tab But the region.zip can, tread with caution. After that AIO should a work with region changer.
Finally a root method that works!

have you rooted it? any news? I have 5580 and I'm also interested in rooting
It is already rooted in stock rom (JB 4.1.1 v1.03). Just install SU from android market and enjoy.
I tryed that and it said unable to install su binarys. Any ideas? Have you done the ota update?
Mine Prestigio 5880D came with ICS 4.0.4. Then I've tried app Root Checker and it said that device is rooted. After that I've upgraded from SD card to JB 4.1.1 v1.02 and tried again Root checker and to my joy it stay rooted. Installed SU and everything went fine. Last thing I've done is flashing OTA update to v1.03 which is minor update and everything stays as it was before.
Try using Root Checker to see if your device is rooted.
Does anyone here owns Prestigio PMP5770D? Anyone rooted it?
I tryied this method and it failed
Thanks in advance for answer and sorry for OT.

I can confirm that this method works for rooting the device.
The instructions are VERY simple ...

How to root PMP5880D: it is rooted in 1.0.1, BUT in 1.0.3(maybe in 1.0.2 too) it is LOCKED. So, just download archive with 1.0.1 firmware from prestigio.com/info/product/downloads?NODE_ID=120123130540324284&ITEM=120928084609891248 , inside this archive will be further instructions in pdf(installation from sd card). Needless to say, don't update this version, or you'll get locked again. (personal expirience)

How do I fix soft brick caused by chainfire3d?

I installed chainfire3d and its driver and after i installed its driver my tablet restarted and it's just stuck in the boot logo.
I tried wiping the data through stock recovery but the same problem is still there :\
I did not enable usb debugging so I cant do the adb shell fix.
My tablet is rooted with king root.
Any help guys ?
Isn't cf3d for like..Android 2.x?
What tablet and Android version?
Easiest would probably be to reflash your stock firmware if it's available.

It's lollipop 5.0.2, and im not sure if my stock rom is available somewhere.
My tablet's a ZTE Grand X View, it's a Canada exclusive tablet
All I suppose you can do is..
Try flashing an online update from att Canada. Otherwise, I don't know what could help you...

How will i do that with just stock recovery available on the tablet?
Either use adb sideload or update it off the sd card with the .zip in the recovery.
