im on wbs CM6 and the main reason is because of the cyanogenmod option that lets you set a pin number to unlock the phone
i want to go bak to my optimized 2.1 but i couldnt get a working pin lockscreen (lockbot offers the option but it is easily bypassed by pushing the menu button)
iff there is an app or a mod to enable the pin lock from cyanogenmod on the stock 2.1 please throw it up
Hi all,
I have come across a problem today after trying out the MIUI ROM for my SII. I had quick go but decided not to use it, I re flashed the latest version of westcrips ressurection however when I returned to the lock screen my previous 4 digit PIN was not accepted.
I can only theorize that the previous PIN was overwritten or corrupted somehow. I am pretty sure there is no way to reset or discover android passwords. With the pattern lock there was an option to unlock your phone with your google account however I can't seem to find that with the PIN or maybe it has been removed from ICS westcrip?
Anyway, what to do? I don't really want to wipe everything and reset
Thanks,
Auzeras
Friends,I have been using both stock based as well as cm7 based roms on my rooted galaxy ace for a year now. From the very beginning I have noticed that in stock nased roms,if I set up a pattern or pin lock for my device the original lock screen is automatically disabled, which is not a case with cm7 based roms. When I press the power button, the pattern or the pin input screen comes up in stock based roms, not the lock screen. Is there any way to enable the lock screen in stock based roms?
Hello,
I have a Samsung S2 (GT-I9100), the current android version on it was 4.0.2. Recently i tried to upgrade it to android 4.1.2 (I guess it is the latest supported version for this phone isnt it?).
I tried using Samsung Kies and Odin, but always end up with the phone getting locked (I get that SIM Network Unlock PIN message).
I even tried with the "Samsung S unlock" app, but it failed to unlock it.
However, when i downgraded to 4.0.3, the "Samsung S unlock" app unlocked successfully.
I have tried several things, i called my operator to ask for the PIN (but he had no idea what an "unlock PIN" is and asked me to change my phone instead ... -.-), i even tried to extract the "hash" from my data file, and i tried to crack the hash with hashcat, but it failed. I even tried to dial *#197328640#, and proceed as some tutorials has indicated, but i couldnt go beyond the "PHONE CONTROL" menu.
So i have some questions, im planing on installing cyanogenmod (android 5.1.1), would that removed the lock? (i cant try it now, i dont have the phone on me), like is the lock only for samsungs ROMs? or it is like HARD-CODED in the phone?
Another thing is, i was taking a look at where the lock functionality is located (in the source code), and i think i was able to find it in the "hidden.img" file, in an application called SecPhone.apk (odex), so my question here is, if i somehow was able to bypass this function (like always return true or something) then repack the hidden.img and install the new version, would that work? Or i shouldnt waste my time on that?
(And can anyone provide me with the source code of the Android 4.1.2? its a bit hard and annoying to navigate though the code on the browser, i tried to download it using the google repo tool, was running that under VM (as it only works on linux), and it i didnt have enough space, so it failed, and im a bit to lazzy to re-install the VM ...)
One last thing, while examining the code, i noticed that the unlock function takes 2 parameters, the PUK and the PIN, and only if the PUK is null then that function will use the PIN, so would introducing the PUK as the unlock PIN would work?
Thank you for your time ...
Hello, my device (Redmi Note 8T, MIUI 11) has recently stopped accepting the pattern lock I set up when I got it first and I'm trying to bypass the lock screen. The problem lies in that I haven't got USB debugging activated nor Google's Find My Device. I'm almost sure I haven't forgotten the pattern, but I've tried multiple patterns similar to the one I remember. Is there a way of unlocking the bootloader or booting into TWRP without having to access to the phone's settings? I've been thinking of flashing Aroma File Manager and remove the system's files for the lock from there but I haven't found how to do it without unlocking the bootloader. Is the only way of doing this restoring the phone completely? I'm almost a complete beginner in Android modding and I appreciate any extra help, thank you.
