I have been looking throught the development pages, and there are alot of roms to choose one. I was wondering,in everyones opinion. what is the most Stock Rom for the Verizon note 2?
Sidebar: Personally I think a note 2 stock rom should have all it's s-pen apps intact.

All the touchwiz roms retain the s pen features. Which includes beans, cleanrom, and tweaked vzw. AOSP roms will not retain these features, but there are plenty of options to get said features back.
To answer your question, closest to stock from appearance would be clean rom, tweaked next, and beans is still stock touchwiz but is heavily themed to resemble AOSP.
Id try them all to see which ones you like best.

ok so,ive been looking for a decent rom for the past couple days. what is a good and reliable rom that is very similar to Hybrid and you are able to use SMEMO and SNOTE? also you can have it in tablet mode?.... im currently using paranoidandroid and i love it, but im one of those people that i use Smemo and Snote!!!and the downside is you are not able to use Smemo and Snote on paranoidandroid because its CM9!!!...
any suggestions?
Thank you,
Most of the roms are AOSP, CM9, or AOKP based. Your options are limited when it comes to what roms have smemo etc support, but there are a few. Read through the OP of the roms to figure out which has what you're looking for.
Basically any of the roms that are stock ICS based well have what you're looking for. Anything that mentions AOSP, AOKP, CM9, etc isn't what you're looking for.
Also, tablet mode is enabled by dpi change usually, which some roms have settings to do so, others you need to edit build.prop

thanks for the reply!!!
Theres no way to install Smemo And Snote on AOSP, AOKP, AOCP, CM9???
No, they rely on the touchwiz framework and whatnot.

One question thou? can i pick any touch wiz Rom(ex:Teams perfection) and by changing the System DPI go to tablet mode? or things get messed up and wont work?
You can change the dpi on the ROM in question and it should go into tablet mode. Most everything will probably work. You may have an issue with one or two apps but you will not know till you try.
Make a back of your current setup and give it a shot.

I'm in the same boat as you smemo and snote are a big deal to me but I love paranoid and so far I haven't found anything that combines the two. Im using a stock Rom and everything works but the battery life is horrible so I'm considering going back to paranoid

Hey guys
I am going to be getting the Note sometime here within the next 2-3 weeks. As soon as I get it, I plan on rooting and roming it up a bit, mainly for fluidity and battery life. Now one of the biggest draws to the note is the inclusion of the S Pen. My question is, will that functionality be removed switching between roms since the rom has a different "formula" than say an S3 or stock android rom? Or is it cooked directly into the device and able to work with almost any rom?
Thanks!
There are several touchwiz based roms that still include full pen support. Any AOSP/CM9/AOKP will not have full support. It will still act like a finger touch on those roms, but you won't have the home/back/menu/screenshot/smemo shortcut functionality.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
As of right now, are there any stable (VERY fluid) Touchwiz 5 roms?
Even if you are on a non touchwiz based from the s pen still works you just lose s-memo and the double click functionality to open a note pad. The pen itself still works.

Look into Gubment Cheeze. Awesome running stable rom. You use the above mentioned apps with it and all is fine.

I was thinking about getting the CyanogenMod 10 Rom over the stock factory one, but I'm not sure if its worth it. It would get rid of your apps for the S-Pen, and maybe some other apps that are useful that I am not aware of. Would anyone say it's worth it?

That depends on what YOU want.
In general, it's obviously worth it or the developers wouldn't spend so much time working on it because there would be no interest, and users wouldn't donate their money to the developers for their work.
If you prefer the touchwiz aspects of the device then flash a TW ROM or stay stock.
I switch back and forth.

aosp currently detracts from what this device is capable of...not hating just calling it how i see it. im a fan of beans touchwiz mainly for the themeing because i dont like the look of stock touchwiz. aosp will shine when this device quits recieving carrier updates...until then ill probably keep rockin touchwiz.

This is precisely what I meant by it depends on what you want.
I can live without s pen, it wasn't a selling point for me and I hardly use it. I use multi view more than s pen, and although it's convenient I don't have to have it.
I like the aosp ROMs for the kill app feature, my choice of themes due to the theme engine, and the many on the fly options.
I vote for beans rom. It is themed to look like asop but is still tw so you dont loose anything
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
Definitely a personal choice that depends a lot on your wants and needs. Even bone stock the note 2 is a great phone...a custom ROM just makes it that much better by adding some features that don't come stock. That said, for your first flash I would ease into it with something TouchWiz based like Beans, Clean, etc. See how much you like/use the touchwiz features and then you can decide if you want to try an AOSP ROM.

Sorry, I am still a newb, but which ROM lets you keep stock roms? And which did you guys say is the best for you and why?
"Best" is going to be hard to answer...they all offer some great stuff (and honestly a lot of the features overlap so there isn't a massive difference between them). The Touchwiz based ROMs include Beans, CleanROM, Eclipse, Tweaked and maybe a couple of others I am forgetting. Those will all maintain the Samsung features (S-pen, multi-window, smart stay, etc). I've run Beans and Clean on the Note and both Eclipse and Tweaked on the Charge. All have great dev support and you probably can't go wrong with any of them. Beans seems to have the biggest following based on the threads and as it is my daily driver I would recommend it.

I think you need to rephrase your first question.
The term best is relative. I I like CleanROM because it's 4.1.2 and built of of the international version.
I like Eclipse due to the black themed Gmail and play store.
I like beans because it's more like stock Verizon.
I like Carbon and Rootbox because they're 4.2.2, have features that we can't have on touchwiz ROMs like those above, but you lose the touchwiz only functions.
Personally, I have found myself drifting more and more towards AOSP. I got this phone a little more than a month ago and rooted it in the first week, mainly because I wanted my choice of apps in the multiwindow. I first went with Scott's CleanRom VZW SE, which is pretty much exactly the same as the stock rom with a few improvements. Then I jumped to the CleanRom ACE, which is based of the international version of the Note 2 (which runs 4.1.2), but is still stock TouchWiz. Then I flashed Beans 10, which as many have said here is TouchWiz with some AOSP theming. For the complete AOSP look, I also chose to get Nova Launcher and Widget Locker. And just today, I downloaded CarbonRom, which is 100% AOSP 4.2.2, and I am about to flash.
I realized that the only TW feature I really use is the popup browser. I don't really use the S Pen or any other features, but I am definitely making a backup in case I end up missing more than I anticipated.
Honestly, the best rom I have used so far is CleanRom ACE. The support is great, and to be honest you probably won't need it, since the stability of this thing is awesome. The only issue I had with it was that group messaging does not work properly. I was just feeling the call of the holo theme, so that's why I left. I do not doubt that I will eventually return to the ACE.
The note2 was my first rom flashing. I went with Beans 10. I have not had the any of the problems I've seen others have. I use the s-pen and like the additional programs in multi-view. Could I have lived without flashing a different rom? Of course but I figured with all the power the note2 has why not try to take full advantage.
Make sure you follow the instructions and I have found most members are willing to help.
I figured I would start one of these threads since I have yet to see one. So for everyone that actively switches ROMs, do you prefer AOSP or Touchwiz?

Bean's scratches both itches for me! :good:
I've flashed several recently, I'm currently on AOKP MR1 but I'm going to switch to Beans once build 11 comes out. I found AOKP/AOSP to be missing features, mainly in the core apps like e-mail and sms. Battery life also seems to be much worse in AOKP/AOSP, and I find there to be a few bugs, some major some minor.

There's going to be bugs in every ROM.
I found eclipse 1.4, which is built on touchwiz, to have the best aosp feel to me. It cures that aosp itch for anyone. I wish tweaked VZW was aosp themed.

That would be CyanogenMod. That is by far the closest you will ever get to a Nexus device, but you will be giving up a bit of battery life, many of the SPen functions, and MultiWindow.
What you will be getting in return, is the beautiful stock look, being on the latest android version, and having a completely "Debloated" ROM.
Ok, I've heard a lot about cyan, but never gave it a shot. Where do I get it from and is it easy to install. Do I do it through tw recovery like any other Rom?

That's the link to the official nightlies for CM 10.1, installation instructions are in the OP of course. Yes you do use TWRP recovery and install it just like any touchwiz rom. Personally AOSP roms always end up getting buggy on my device, YMMV.
If I were you I would look into TW roms that can give you an AOSP look. I'll edit in some links.

Normally I would say CyanogenMod or a Rom close to it. For this phone the S-pen is affected by the Rom you choose. A few of the Touchwiz Roms are pretty stable and the AOSP Roms removes most of the S-pen functionality. You should try a couple since everyone's experience is different. I'm running Beans Rom and it's pretty fast without changing any voltages.
I've used clean rom a few times and have always been happy. I usually use nova as well. I'm just liking for something that's fast, stable and doesn't have overwhelming options. Does any roms out there have the on screen keys like the nexus devices do?

For a good aosp rom, I would recommend a few of these.
1. ParanoidAndroid (my favorite)
2. AOKP
3. Cyanogen Mod (obvious good one)
4. LiquidSmooth
You will lose some nice tw features but there are some apps on the playstore that can give you similar spen features on aosp (don't want to post links as I don't own the rights). I myself would go for a tw ROM and just put nova launcher on there, but I love a great stock phone as much as the next guy. Hope I can help in some way but most Roms are just all opinion based. I would try around and post back your favorite.
