Help restoring stock rom after failed Jelly bean update....please help! - Motorola Droid RAZR

I have a Droid Razr Maxx. I recently attempted to install 4.2.2 using Safestrap and it failed. It would just go in cycles of going to safestrap and restarting. I am now trying to restore my phone so that i can use it again. I cleared the cache/dalivk/and wiped, thinking that it would remove the recently installed file. When I go to reboot in safestrap it says there is "No OS installed". I think I bit off more than I can chew and really don't understand the advanced issues of installing roms from safestrap apparently. I definitely will not be trying this again. Would someone please be able to help me. Should there be a file I could use on the system to re install the stock rom? can I even transfer a file from the computer to my sd card, if all I can do is turn it on to safe strap..Desperate as I work in a hospital and this is necessary for communicating about patient care. Obviously I know I shouldn't have done this. Thanks you so much for any help.

[Q] How to Wipe a ROOTED/Safestrapped Razr

Hi, Thanks to all who provide support and answer questions on this forum.
I need some help. I'm on a droid Razr MAXX, rooted, SafeStrap 3.11, Android ICS 4.0.4, System Version .211.XT912.
I've successfully flashed a few ROMS, ALL ICS ROMS (Flick, Eclipse,..). However when I tried installing any AOSP,AOKP,CM9+ mods The wireless would constantly say my router was "Not In Range" or would be completely non functional as in not even toggling on. So I've given up troubleshooting it and want to start from scratch. I need to know how to completely remove SafeStrap (properly) and Completely wipe all Data on my phone. Everything. Even the folders from old apps that are no longer installed and contain misc. files that are not being used and just taking up space.
I tried Factory Reset from within SafeStrap, and that still left the misc. folders i was talking about on my phone. If I just do a factory data reset from within the phone itself SETTINGS>Privacy>Factory Data reset, will that do what im wanting. Will it get rid of safestrap, or do i need to remove that and unroot first?
I've read places that suggest flashing an SBF file, and I've heard that thats required for using some of the newer JB roms (have to flash a JB SBF Kernel, am i understanding that right?), but I cant find the most recent version of RSD Lite, havent used it before, and honestly dont want to go that far yet until I can get these roms i've been messing with working first.
Thanks in advance for any help. Sorry for the long post
Try downloading the SafeStrap app and then from there choose "Uninstall Recovery"
go into stock android recovery and do a full wipe.

[Q] SafeStrap Errors

Good morning! I installed the newest safestrap and I tried installing a new rom and get nothing but errors all the way around. I enter into safestrap, created a new RoM slot and check for errors. After all that was fine I attempted to do a normal wipe and it fails. I then attempted to just install the Hyper ROM and that fails also. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong. This is my first Samsung, however I was very proficient in this stuff with all the Droids I've owned. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Trouble flashing CyanogenMod 10.2.1 Spyder

Hey all, just ran into some trouble trying to flash CM-10.2.1 onto my Droid Razr xt912
powered down and booted into recovery, luckily i backed up the stock rom, wiped the stock rom, and tried to flash the .zip file....the program said that the operation was successful, but upon rebooting, no OS loaded up...
the weird thing is that when i was testing out the release to see if i wanted to replace my stock rom, i loaded it onto a partition via safestrap and it seemed to work just fine..
anyone else have the same problems? can anyone think of anything i have done wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated. i realize that this post is slightly vague and i dont know much about flashing roms or anything, only what i have read online. so please by all means ask me anything! i am greatly interested in this ability of the android devices and am wanting to learn as much as possible!!!
thanks again in advance for any help
From what I've read it needs to be loaded onto a partition so if it works you did it right

Earlier CM 10 builds had a restriction. They can only be flashed on the Slot 1 using Safestrap. This was removed in CM10.3 so if you are trying to flash CM 10.2, you need to use only slot 1.
PS: The update script says that in flash process too.

[Q] Please help badly!! Droid razr maxx no os

Okay so I am a newbie to rooting and have safestrap and rom toolbox on my phone and a few other things. I backed up my data and system of my stock rom. I then booted back into my stock with no problem . I then proceeded to make boot back to safestrap and make a rom, because I realized that I needed a rom to fool around in. I made the rom and realized that I needed a an actual downloaded rom.zip to make it work. The video I watched was very misleading, and I didn't pay attention to well, so I feel very ****ty for possibly ending my phone. So I pressed on my stock rom to activate and resumed to press the reboot the system and saw NO OS! I thought easy fix and tried to restore from the back up I made when I started this. It did its thing and failed over and over saying unable to mount /data , /cache , /system. I now don't know what to do. Is there a way to get the OS back. What did I do wrong? I really need help, I know I'm so stupid for making these mistakes didnt know fully what I was doing. Please help me get this thing back up and runnin.
Btw The software is jellybean 4.1.2 if you need to ask me any questions feel free. Thank you

If you have an XT912, use Matt's Utility from the dev section to flash your stock ROM back.
Read carefully before proceeding.
You'll need to install Moto drivers.

Would I just run the jellybean no wipe data official software? . And I'm still in safestrap menu. Can't leave that.
Ok so I seem to have fixed the problem by shutting my phone down holding power, and booting in to ap fastboot, i realized my phone wasnt recognized by the computer, had a heart attack and booted back into normal mode. i then loaded into safestrap again and saw that all the memory was showing for my stock rom, then i rebooted the system and didnt get the no OS message , idk what happened or why it did this, can anyone possible explain? thank you
Glad you fixed..

Can't flash to stock and get rid of safestrap

My friend was tinkering with his phone and screwed something up. He was set up running cm11 on romslot1 with safestrap. I don't know what he to screw everything up but right now I can't get it back to stock.
I used matt's utility which completes but Safestrap is still there after complete wipe and keeps not booting into stock. We have tried going into the recovery and deleting the romslot and manually deleting all safestrap data but it is like it keeps restoring itself upon reboot.
Safestrap settings flat out just don't stick.. I can boot into cm11 still which is it. If I install an app and reboot the app is gone like nothing ever happened.
I also tried wiping internal storage and it does not let me. How can I get safestrap off this SOB and return it to stock. I'm out of ideas..
turn your phone on, start safe strap and uninstall safe strap from the app and not from the app drawer/management when safe strap is uninstalled the boot to recovery should be greyed out then you reboot your phone normally it should restart on the stock rom
hope this helps
also when your friend screwed your phone up he may have lost the root explode so check phone to see if it still is rooted
cheers eggster
No this isn't working. I can't boot into stock at all to uninstall safestrap. The phone's internal storage is stuck in read only mode which is probably why everytime I factory reset it safestrap stays behind. I also can't even update the cm11 rom. It just restores the same image everytime you boot so if you install and app and restart the app is gone.
you can try flashing back JB 4.1.2 to the stock rom through fast boot and by using RSD lite which is a motorola utility tool for flashing roms
do a little research in the xda forums to use RSD lite
once you have a working rom again and rooted you can then install safe strap and run it to install cm11 4.4.2 into rom slot 1
hope this helps

Any help to flash back to stock with ubuntu
any way to use sbf_flash to get back to stock JB 4.1.2? I have flashed other phones with sbf but this one needs a xml file in rsd lite. Do I just sbf flash the phone like any other droid?

You should be able to.
I would try the updated Droid Razr Utility though (has updates to SS and the last phone update). Link to the forum is here. I had problems the last muck up I did on my phone and with the older version I kept having issues with SS and other stuff like Rom Slot 1 corrupting on a boot into SS.

My problem is that the internal storage is read only. I have not had luck with sbf or the droid razr utility.
Sounds like a rsd time.

RSD works to get the phone back to stock yes.. however it does not wipe the internal storage currently stuck as READ ONLY... so after I wipe with RSD and reboot it goes right back into romslot-1 on safestrap.. where nothing can be deleted and no changes can be saved..
Hi there, i have one problem with my xt912, when I install stock rom, with rsd lit or razr blade, boots normally, has a good signal, but cant send or receive sms and calls, or if I'll receive sms, its after half an hour or such, can u guys tell me what to do? I am gsm user, and i have tried several stock roms, but same result
that's very weird... everytime I need to use RSD, it wipes completely my phone, removing SU,SS and restoring my stock JB rom. But, have you selected Stock slot on SS to boot on it? and have you mount your /system folder?
