SIM Undetected Issue - HTC Droid DNA

I am wondering if this is a hardware defect on my device or an actual problem.
My Phone:
S-OFF
Viper 1.1.3
Cubed 3.1.3
No Verizon OTA update
OTA update radio flashed via fastboot
Eng HBoot
Occasionally I will lose data/3G/4G connection and it will say a SIM is not detected (even though it is in there). I found that by rebooting it will fix it but I haven't found a fix besides that. I will regain connection after the reboot and it will work fine but this is happening at least once a day.
(Clearing Cache/Dalvik, Fixed permissions does nothing)
Thanks!

It is a common hardware problem on dna's. Reseating the SIM card is the best fox for it.

Had the same issue. My phone obviously was defected as my new one had no issue. Trade off is it came with the ota. So I have to wait for root now.

I used to have this problem on my phone. I re seated the sim card once and took the ota update and since then it hasn't given me any error involving the sim card.

Probably has everything to do with reseating and nothing to do with the ota.
Same issue for me. I cleaned the SIM card with an eraser and it's been good so far.

question about phone's antenna.

hi guys, i've been having a problem about my network. sometimes my data isn't working at all but it doesn't really says that it's disconnected to fix it i have to reboot. I tried different roms but my data still drops sometimes like 4 times a day.
so is there any chance that i broked the phone's data antenna even my calls still work? i have the phone for 6 months and this is the first time this has happened. i really don't want to exchange my phone to tmobile but if that's the only way to try then that's what i'll do.

I would suggest getting a new SIM card. In most cases a new sim card will fix that problem. I work for T-Mo and that's usually a good fix. If that doesnt work then try a factory reset. If that doesn't work then warranty. Good luck!!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
yeah i have done a factory reset. So i'll ask t mobile for a new sim card?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Just go to a store and ask for a sim replacement. Since its a damaged sim they should just replace it for free.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I don't need to call them? i'll just directly go to a tmobile?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes sir. They will activate your number on to it and put it in the phone. Off you go. That simple.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
When you bought your Vibrant, check in the box, there should be 2 sim cards.
i just called t mobile today and they said that my sim card is old which is weird. my sim card came with the phone 6 months ago. is there really a new sim card?
So they said i do need to change my sim card, will my number be changed?

If he upgraded to the vibrant and the rep happened to leave the sim in there then there would be another one. There is typically only one sim per box.Usually if you are an existing customer and you upgrade the rep will take the sim out of the box and keep it.

Nope. Number will stay the same. They just activate the new card with your number and deactivate the old. Yes, they came out with a new version of the sim card a while ago.

oh ok thanks. i really forgot to ask why did they put this sim if it's not compatible with the phone. I didn't know that they have a newer sim card.
thanks!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well the one that you have should work fine. But like anything else they occasionally go bad. They updated the sims when they started upgrading the network. Just gives a better connection on 3g/4g.

Sim error Puk is locked

I started getting the no sim a lot since I flashed cubed kernel
This morning I got this new error
Only a full reset will bring it back to working order
I'm on 1.21 ukb
Cubed kernel
I think I need to go back to stock kernel
Anyone else getting this?

Before you do that, turn the phone off and resit the SIM card. I was getting that error and doing so fixed it.

I am getting this too. I get it like twice a week. A quick fix is rebooting phone. I have tried reinserting the SIM while off but it still came on. My guess is its from an old or faulty SIM card. My DNA came with a SIM card but i just kept my old one from my Dinc2.

Yesterday my sim went dead and had to go to Verizon to get a new one. Totally random. My phone is stock.
My phone is rooted, nothing more, I just got the puk is locked...
I seem to can't win with the SIM cards. This is the second one I've gotten.

I've had it once on cubed. Reboot didn't fix but popping the SIM card did.

I got the same problem, GPGS could not be established.
Get a new sim. They're free. I got it replaced yesterday, and since have not gotten the lock message.

Just happened to me this morning... I've only had my DNA a week, what causes this? ? ? Never had a phone do this...
Customer service attempted to assist, however, they ended up directing me to local corporate store to have SIM replaced...

This happened to my phone. I rebooted the phone and it was fine. It happened a second time today and I rebooted and it was fine. Called VZW and they said it's not the sim card it's a software glitch and HTC is aware of it and is working on a fix for it now. They said not to try to swap for another DNA because all DNA phones probably will have the software glitch.
I got this error too, luckily rebooting fixed it

I got the no SIM 4 times today
I accidentally tossed the SIM removal tool with my box
I ended up using a small flat head screw driver and lightly pushed down on the SIM card slot and powered back on
I did try the rebooting and airplane mode but those didn't work
Pushing the SIM back down a little seems to have helped
Well see if the no SIM comes back
Thank you all for your replies

Hey guys, this sounds like the same issue use one x plus guys are experiencing try taping the top part of the SIM card to the sides of the tray it's possible that it's getting loose and a reboot is required everytime it looses connection and the software doesn't refresh to check for connection.

Just got my DNA yesterday and have had this same problem on & off throughout today. Just completely looses the connection or I get the puk error. I popped out the SIM and put it back into place a few hours ago and so far so good...
I have had my DNA since the first day it was released. Just started do this crap today. Reboot fixed it.
It randomly happens. It kinda makes me mad. I'll be good for a few days, then it does it ...

Sim card issue

So today I was on the phone with my friend and all the sudden I couldn't hear him. I took the phone away from my ear and I see puk code locked please contact customer support. First off what does this mean and why is it saying this. I have not rooted my phone or made any modifications at all to my phone. And I have never removed my sim card. I have only had my phone for less the a month. Also sometimes my phone says I do t have a sim card inserted when I know I do. This has happened to me once before.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

its a known issue with the dna.
try reseating the sim card and rebooting the phone. If the issue persists or comes back ofter go to a verizon store and get a new sim card
I woke up this morning and my sim card was acting up I put it back in because I was lucky enough to have the tool with me and it's better now. I honestly thing it's my sim card because my brother also has this phone and he hasn't had any issues with his sim card at all

Does the new OTA rooted still fix problems with the sim card?

I've always had problems with the DNAs sim card not being found but I've noticed this happening much much more than usual. Its annoying having to constantly restart my phone so it will recognize the sim. On the additional information about the OTA it says it fixes sim card problems, will it still accomplish this goal with a rooted ROM based off the ota?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I updated to the ota and it still happened to me. Just once. Went on my Verizon wireless account and changed device to the same phone, rebooted and all is well. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Good luck!

Some people report that it actually does, some of then even says that the have better signal reception...
on my droid, i installed the update and the signal strengt is like the same, but i havent had no sim card issue anymore
Just an update... Happened to me again just now....lol
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
It is supposed to fix the issue but I assume it only fixes a specific issue, so its possible you can still have the issue if your sim is dirty or broken. The update is just a radio so just get it and flash it.
Just a radio...exactly what I wanted to hear. Why download a whole new ROM if I can change up my radio. Thanks guys, if only there was a way to flash radios without fast boot:/
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I flashed the new radio and have noticed that my sim card fails significantly less than previously. It still happens every once in awhile but not nearly as much. Just for anyone belse having issues

SIM card issue is back

Did the update a couple of days ago and now the SIM card will not read. Took it to Verizon and asked if the update had anything to do with this issue and they looked at me with a blank face...so now I pose the question...
Does anyone else have SIM card issues? I have a warranty replacement on the way but thought I would ask to see if there is a real issue or just a random SIM slot failure.

Permanent solution is to get a new Sim tray from HTC. They made a thicker one and if you contact their support and ask for it they will send you one out for free. Then you won't get any Sim card errors anymore.

I put tape on the back of mine and haven't had an issue since. It's a good temp solution while you wait on the new tray.
