Just recently my touchscreen became a lot less responsive. I have to press with considerable force to have it register. I've also been having some lag that I've never experienced, such as in the notif bar and app drawer.
Last installed app was xPlane.
Anyone has any idea what might have happened?

I've noticed that my XDA app on the Galaxy S3 (ATT) is eating up alot of battery. Ate almost 40 minutes of CPU. One time when I went into task mananger, it showed high CPU usage and I wasn't even using it for a while (so it was idle). I also noticed this with the Engadget app.
Anyone notice anything similar? Just seems like they should be sleeping and not using CPU in the background...
Try reinstalling them. I haven't had this problem with either :/
See attached. My screen has been on about an hour and xda for 50 min.

And this is it just running in the background.

All I can think of is to reinstall. It shouldn't be doing this obviously
I've uninstalled and reinstalled before those screenshots.

Well no idea then, sorry. You could force stop them when you aren't using them.

i'm having the same issue. att sgs3 completely stock never flashed rooted or odined. my phone also seems to stutter and lag a bit more than i was lead to believe it would but i really only started to notice it after installing xda.
i have been using the xda app quite a bit today but an app doubling the screen in battery drain just seems wrong.
xda app cpu times:
total: 2h30m
foreground: 55m
i'm thinking about flashing the stock firmware odin package....... but i'm also thinking about trading in my blue for a white and i think the obvious lag stutter problem might help me avoid restocking fees.
oh what to do?
so no one else is having this problem? just us two?
I'm having this problem as well. I had 90% when I went to bed. 6 hours or so later when I woke up I had 50% left :/

I have also been having this problem since my s2. You can see in the task manager its running about 10 pct in the background. Never found a way to stop this apart from manually closing the app in its settings or force close.
I have been having the exact same issue with my XDA app. It just sucks the battery, using 20-35% on average. This is very odd as I have never had a problem with the xda app before. This is an app issue, hopefully they will update this.

Yea I'm having the same issue as well

I also have this problem. I've been manually fcing the app. I assumed it was due to the app trying to serve adds. But I don't really know

Guys, I've had a little better luck...at least its not killing the CPU total (was above 20% before on idle). I've disabled notifications in the settings and I've also disabled the 2 listeners using AutoRun manager.
Does anyone here who is experiencing xda app battery drain have a rooted device with an ad blocker? I have never had this issue with the xda app and the only thing that has changed other than the phone is not being rooted /ad free. My guess is ads are somehow causing this problem.

Hi guys,
Just wanted some help from you guys. Suddenly i noticed that my s3 has started speaking on its own. Like when i zoom out my homescreens, it says
"Workspace 2 of 3"
When i open a folder,it says
"Folder opened "
I dont know what happened. I didnt tweak any settings and updated to the latest firmware about a week back. Until yesterday there were no voice feedbacks but all of a sudden they have started. Couldnt find any setting to turn them off either.
It is very annonying and any help would be greatly appreciated!

That sounds like TalkBack. Disable it under Settings -> Accessibility -> TalkBack
Already disabled, still it speaks!

Have you got Light Flow installed? There is a bug with it due to Samsung/ICS kernel
Yes i did have that app installed and i guess it has happened due to that app only. However, i just uninstalled the app but it still speaks. Will try restarting the phone once and will get back to you. Thank u so much anyways.

Anyone notice it doing stuff like reading YouTube comments or xda app specifically scrolling .the stock browser is pretty much lag free but other stuff I dunno I'm thinking the screen size is the cause of this don't really recall it bein this bad on my HTC one s

Yea I have this issue sometimes with the XDA app, facebook n some others. Doesnt happen all the time, only once in a while. Kind of annoying.
Im also getting a slight stutter/lag scrolling.
Yes but I've mostly noticed it in xda.

very laggy
Stock as-is ROM is very laggy. Until I got rid of all bloat, phone was running like first Galaxy.
Use some custom ROMs which will make your phone snappier. I removed around 100 apps.
tapatalk and the xda app lag alot and even crash on me.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
the fix for laggy xda is.
Exit app, hold home, open task manager, kill all.
Then use "app cache cleaner"
All better

I like to have shortcuts to soothing mode and to resolution on my camera because I'm always fiddling with them, but every time I set them up, they disappear when I close the camera. Anybody has a workaround?
Thanks in advance...

This seems to be a problem with all Samsung galaxy phones, I was googling it today, and I found several other people complaining about the same problem in several other forums, but I didn't find any solution...
In the developer section what is your process limit set at ? And is do not keep activities checked? Try setting both those exactly like mine and see if your shortcuts still dissapear.

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy Note LTE and this phone is really getting on my nerves. Sometimes I am using an app halfway and it suddenly auto-close for absolutely no reason. Just to note, it's running on Android 4.0.4 ICS.
Maybe I should have bought an GS3 or something else other than this garbage.

This is a very strange behavior, indeed. What do you mean by using an app halfway?
Maybe you should do a factory reset, with a nandroid backup first....

Uninstall the apps which would force close suddenly.
I meant that I was like playing a game and in the middle of a race, it suddenly auto close.
Sometimes even Google Chrome and the default browser would auto close. Restarting my device would be a temporary fix and it would auto close again once it's 'overloaded'. Currently, I tried putting the maximum background running apps at 4. Still observing whether it works or not.

Have you tried clearing the Cache of your device?
How do I do that?
Sent from my GT-N7005 using xda premium
Since you are in ics, you won't have the option available by default.. So I suggest you to use some third party apps for this.. You can try app2sd available in android market.. Even though the main purpose of this app is not clearing cache, you have the option to do this.. Have a try..

You can use apps Memorry booter.
Thanks a lot. Does this actually prevents any auto closing in future?
Isn't that the same as task killer apps?
