Because the stock rom searching on the 5.0 seems to be a bit messy, I decided to make an index where it regroups all them here. It may seem simple but it's only an index regrouping all the stock roms available and it's not like a full recovery guide (like the 4.0)

My question is, can the U.S stock for the g70 run on intl devices like the 4.0 can?

I recommend int'l stock. It works great on US devices with a US kernel.
Do I flash this in CWM for the us model ? or something else , becasue it downloaded as .rar. not a .zip
I found an original firmware for Galaxy Player 5.0 (YP-G70, International):

First of all thanks for your effort on this great post. Indeed very useful.
I wish there would be a full recovery for 5.0 like there is for the 4.0 and the 5.0 INTL (I use the 5.0 US).
Anyway here are some helpful things you could expand your post with:
1) Firmwares
2) Kernels
3) CWMs
4) Full recovery haha
Some reference to how to use it with Odin etc. for noobs.
Thanks again!

I'm a total noob. got my Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5 yesterday and found a youtube video on flashing to to cyanogen 10.2 worked well, but I've lost ability to use ALL of the camera features. No video, no back camera no front camera, and can't use the flash as a light.
so, now I want to go back, but don't want to just re-flash the US stock rom as I'm worried i"ll brick it. Is there a documented n00b process for re flashing stock build?
thanks
Well it's not that hard if toy don't want to go through Odin ABMs all that, you can just flash back to a stock based ROM, not necessarily going all the way back to stock

Hi Guys
I have been trying out CM9 ICS on my 7510, I think its a great rom but with a few little issues. I would like to go back to stock Honeycomb 3.2. I have the latest rom from Sammobile.
Do I just need to flash it via odin? Is there anything else I need to do first?
I have done a search on here about reverting back but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
Thanks for any advice

Yup. Just flash through Odin. Just make sure that you don't select repartition or play with the pit file and you should be fine. I think there is also a flash guide on www.sammobile.com too.

Flash back to Honeycomb from ICS on Galaxy Tab 10.1
My device, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (P 7500), was upgraded to ICS (Android 4.0.4) through built-in auto software update of the device. Although this upgrade has introduced a few new features & functions but all those are almost fancy, not so productive. On the other hand what my device lost is the Adobe Flash Player, the geat player that I mostly depend upon. I did not know it will happen, nor it was displayed in the upgrade notification.
Now, what I want, is to revert back to original Android 3.2 (Honeycomb). Kindly let me know, where to go & how to proceed so that either, I get Adobe Flash Player for this OS, or I revert back to the original Honeycomb version on my device.
I hope there would be solution out there.
Thanks in advance plz !

Yes, flash it via odin with pit file ! Android 4.0.4 and Android 3.2 have different partitions, so for downgrade it is obligatory.
p.s. Try not to brick your tab, flashing with pit file (repartition) is dangerous

Please read here... This thread should answer most of your questions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457
If you are wanting to upgrade to Froyo but are not sure about playing with custom roms, due to fear of bricking, etc... just do a factory upgrade to GB via Kies... no risk in doing so... and if anything was to go wrong, it's Samsung factory upgrade so you should be covered via warranty.
If you are brave enough to venture into custom roms, there are few options available for you. GB roms are pretty safe... no need for pre work... just download the custom GB roms and flash using Odin3... most of these roms will work for both US & INT versions of the players, provided that you flash the right kernel. Anyway... do some reading. Good luck...
Also, if you flash a kernel first, you can make a nandroid backup which can take you back to froyo.
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA
Not really afraid of trying out custom roms i just feel the need to do a full backup before diving in in case something screw up but cant find any guide for doing so
i tried kies but it seems like mea models are not having GB updates from sammy
Flashing the kernel seems like a good idea but is it rom dependent let say rj custom kernel for intl version will it work on froyo assuming it is from GB (not sure)
Again i want to do a full backup before trying things up
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA
Kernel version is independent of android version. I believe both yp-g70 kernels are based on the source thar Samsung released with froyo anyways.
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA
If you want to install a different kernal, I recommend u to use Entropy512's kernal and when you flash, use an older version of super one click because you need to root it.

Hello, Just Picked up my S2 I900m today. I am on the Bell Canada network. My previous phone is the I9000m (still love it) which was Rooted using Slim ICS and the Semaphore kernel using the KG3 Modem.
I've spent a few hours reading/research and for some reason the 9100 seems a little more complicated. I basically want a smiliar setup as I had with the i9000.
I think once I get the recovery figured out, I can start by flashing CM9 and then SLIM ICS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Edit: I forgot to mention I bought the phone used so it has been upgraded to 4.03 MUGLD3
well, the great thing with i9100 is that you can basically match anything up (considering of what OS you're in: GB or ICS) unlike that of i9000's, you have to be on that firmware so you can flash that something and etc.
if you have a good background in flashing things in i9000, then you're good to go in the i9100 world

Hey, why not check this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674286
It will inform you with every category and sub-categories about all the roms you may choose from to install. Perhaps, if you dig enough, you'll discover that variant, that fits exactly to your needs.
Hope it will help you feel on the right tracks.
Thanks for the reference. It is still pretty confusing. I need to know which stock rom would provide me proper instalation of the latest version of android.
Should I just download the latest international rom? Or should i be concerned with any specific characteristic/spec of my phone?

Ok, based on your signature , you are on an international version of the s3 i9300, so you can choose a stock/custom rom in 4.1.2.
Just read the first post of the link I ve just sent you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26583587&postcount=1 , you will find all kind of samsung based roms to choose from. Just take your time and read. You ll find something for your phone, Android revolution , omega ,Wanamlite are really close to stock, but with tweaks. How about trying one of those three if you want something stock-like -and improved nonetheless?
Edit: And yes if you want to make it safe and easier, just install the latest image.
