Is it dead? Odin Screenshot. - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my phone started acting up, slowing down, glitching, freezing etc.
I took a titanium backup, formatted the phone and reinstalled my rom (via CWM).
It kept crashing, so I went back into CWM, and tried to wipe it again, but it kept erroring on accessing the cache partition.
I downloaded Odin and tried to reflash it back to stock - it failed.
Assumed it was a partition problem, so I grabbed the PIT file and tried to flash that.
This is the error:
Long and short - is it new phone time, or can this be saved?

If you upgraded your phone to XELLA or higher ver you can't go back, because of new boot loader.
Try flashing XELLA firmware or this one http://goo.gl/e40Nc - It's XXALEF with new bootloader support and repartition pit file.

Looks like either user damaged the Nand by flashing wrong files or its the Sudden Death Syndrome .
In both cases its a service centre job .
reinstalled my rom (via CWM). >> that's only restoring the fault if it was a firmware problem.

I've had similar issues before, it worked eventually.
Try Odin3 v.1.85 from here (CF-Auto-Root thread).
Next, be sure you got a valid file, those from sammobile (I see from screenshots you want polish ROM).
Next, use only PDA button, nothing else, make sure it's the same settings as in root thread above.
Also make sure all Kies processes are closed.
Now, try until it works. It might take a few tries. This is what worked for me, hope it does for you too.

AW: Is it dead? Odin Screenshot.
If you are in Europe service center will repair it without adding money.

The same error happened to me after kies asked for some updates , i had to delete kies and samsung usb drivers then i downloaded only the usb drivers and the next time i tried odin it worked, i cant remember where i downloaded the usb drivers but i have them on my hdd and can upload them if u want.
Edit link for USB drivers : https://www.dropbox.com/s/yks4sudqsehazez/drivers.rar

Just use the pda option in Odin with the correct firmware for u galaxy with the right bootloader, not CSC and phone option, its easy to get back ur phone.

Aright missed that... But anyway, why the hell bothering with .Pit and Re-Partition? It's very dangerous...
Change CSC if needed or flash specific ROM...
Anyway... hope he gets it sorted...

Look for intratech's thread in development. He even gives directions.

Firmwares are well over 200mb.To flash a new rom go to samfirmware.com choose the original firmware you had or one similar and then extract the folder downloaded. Put the phone.in download mode. For PDA use.the file with PDA in etc. Click repartition and use ext4 pit file.

OMG OMG FIRE FIRE!!!!
First, stop panicking, and post in Q&A where this belongs.
You need to do a full ODIN flash of a stock ROM. You would do this by going to Intratech's thread, and selecting the suitable firmware for your region and carrier/unbranded device.
Unzip the self extracting exe etc, and you will have the stock ROM file. ODIN it as a PDA.
This won't factory reset the phone, but if it won't boot, that might give you another example of something wrong with it... You can factory reset via stock recovery, if needed, by holding volume up + home + power, and choosing to reset.
FIRST AND FOREMOST...SUCCESS ... UNROOTED!
I WAS FLASHING THE FIRMWARE (7MB) NOT THE ROM (200MB)
AND NOW DONE!!

Dead S3, not rooted

My nephew's S3 doesn't boot anymore (stuck at Sammy logo). I can still access recovery and download mode.
I tried to do a factory reset, but it crashes. Something about CSC missing.
I downloaded firmware from Sam firmware and tried to flash it manually via Odin, but that failed as well.
Any tips on what to do?
I just adder the .tar file in the PDA section, didn't alter any other check boxes and clicked start. As soon as it's writing the system, it says FAILED.

1)try different ODIN version and see (also ensure to Kill all 'KIES' processes on ur PC while running ODIn and also temporarily disable any antivirus software running on ur PC)
2)Try diff USB port/Cable and see.
Yep. Search.
'Odin flash fails/Odin won't work' gets covered dozens of times here on a slow week. Search for similar threads, there are a set of troubleshooting steps you need to try/keep trying (That I'm never posting here ever again, tho if you ask Hopper nicely he might regurgitate them for you).
Edit - And if people did the right thing & made these lazy people search for these threads rather than regurgitating **** over & over the world would be a much better place.

I believe NAND Write Start stuck cannot be fix>?
Nand corruption sometimes pop up due to drivers conflict or odin being unable to write in your device's memory.
Why? Because the usual suspects:
Usb Cable
Usb Port
Odin version
Drivers conflict (another pc/laptop would be wise)
Antivirus

Odin gets stucked while flashing

Hi guys,
I need your help.I want to help a friend of mine to flash stock jb rom.
When tried to flash the first odin stucked at hidden and the second time at system after changing usb port and rebooting the computer.
I found somewhere that flashing pit file then the firm may work
Is that because he didn't do a factory reset before flashing?
He's got an s3 I9300 with orange rom 4.0.4.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Flashing a pit will usually hard brick the phone. If odin is correct version, phone is connected properly and you are flashing the right rom for your phone then the worst had already happened, nand failure.
You are missing a lot of information in your post, what does the screen say in download mode and how did you arrive at needing to flash back to stock?

Did you disable Kies before the flash, sounds to me like kies interrupted the flash

[Q] Phone won't turn on how to reset binary code?

Hi,
Is there any way to reset binary code when my phone won't go into boot. My phone won't get past the boot screen and I can only get it to recovery mode - where I can't do anything - or in download mode. I know I need to use Triangle away but when my phone won't boot I can't use the app, so is there any way that I can reset the binary code in another way?
Thanks

First thanks for all the answers
Well first I rooted the phone with this program: Samsung Galaxy S3 Toolkit and Odin that worked fine. Then I downloaded CM and Gapps to the sd-card and flashed it trough CWM and that went fine. The phone worked fine and everything was good.. Then months after it started to reboot it self and then one morning, after a reboot, it deleted all my text massages. The next day it wont boot. Some people says that there is someting wrong with my motherboard, but what do you guys think?
I found an article that says that rooting and flashing doesn't void the warrenty (EU) " If it is not possible to revert it stock software any more, it is also not a software-caused defect" and the warrenty is still valid And that's excatly what im experienced.
Thanks
I found an article that says that rooting and flashing doesn't void the warrenty (EU
Oh yes it does under Samsung warranty rules .
Fact is better than the fiction of eu and root not voiding warranty as its not a law and Samsung is not the vendor .
Any claim for repair must be made against the vendor .
